That's one way of looking at it. When I'm able to participate, I attack thousands of times, and I'm lucky to get one kill before I'm knocked out. If kills are required for rankings, I won't enter them any more. I say let the teams beat up on each other and then sit for 3 days for the rewards. The only reason why I enter them at all is for the XP, other than that they are worthless to me.
Do you really think Kano will only make changes to one game or one platform? That has not been their history in the past... well, except for the elixirs that are being rolled out to FB.
Just letting you know no one waits three days for their rewards on FB , cause you mentioned it. And I doubt Kano will do anything , not even revisit the issue, so I bet you have nothing to worry about. And at this point Not sure I care whether you will play in "your" arena or not ,anyway, if anything changes, just keep being negative, it suits you
Thousands of hits and no kills? Geez what platform do you play on? On average I get around 12-20 kills and around 20.000 attacks in before my fingers are ready to fall off. But I do get the kills. They are there.
KP2... in Pirates, the highest level player (who is at least 5,000 levels above everyone else) has gotten a top 5 ranking in all 55 arenas that have been held, and everyone in the top 5 is from the same armada each time. It's not as lopsided in LCN and Vikings, and I'm sure it's a little more competitive in FB. As you can see, the search feature does not help us keep the top players from winning all the time, even with the slider. The slider enables the strongest accounts to wipe out everyone else within 2 (maybe 3) hours, even in defensive stance. So yes, I don't get many kills even with thousands of attacks (although nowhere near 20,000) when I am able to participate.
It depends. The last one in Pirates had a pretty decent (for us) turnout, maybe 200 entries. The next one probably won't be as many because it will be in the middle of the night for American players on the East Coast. Before the slider, I could make it half the time until the following morning so that I could participate. But that ended long ago when the slider was implemented, since everyone is knocked out (in or out of defensive stance) within 3 hours, at the most.
It was 145 in this arena Jared. Had I entered it, it would of been 146. Oh and I disagree with changing the arena anymore than what it already has been. It's been changed too much. Strategies have already been killed by those that couldn't use them theirselves. Those with a high defensive time EARNED it. It's not against any rules to ride it out in d mode. It's strategy. By all rights you should receive rewards where you actually fall out at, 0 attacks or 1 million attacks.
Disagree completely. It doesn't take much to get a high defense time if you change your loadout to all defense. It not a strategy its a loophole that's being exploited. And if you only have 150 to 200 entries then I can understand why its hard to get kills. In the PC Arena we usually have 800 to 900 entries and in the VC its usually over 1000. That's both on the FB platform.
Hey all, just a heads up that I've shown this thread and the comments within to the developers. Nothing substantive to add on my part, just letting you know the developers are reading this thread.
"Each player receives special bonuses based on their stats and equipped items." Right there is proof defense time is earned.
No one is saying that def time is not earned but when non fighters in the regular game take high ranking spots in the arena by barely fighting it makes the arena a farce for fighters in both areas something needs to be adjusted. This is a fighting PVP game after all.
Yeah Ben and not understanding your point. I have a very good defense. And like I said all I have to do is switch my loadout to heavy defensive items for the Arena and have a huge defense time. My overall point though is that players should not be able to use that "defensive time" they get to essentially not fight but hide in defensive mode and coast into a high ranking. And that's what many are doing. Most of them barely fight in the Arena. They know they don't have too and since the Arena was specifically created so people could go in and battle I find it odd that there are those who refuse to fight occupying so many positions in the top ten ranking. "You regain Health for every opponent you kill, so the harder you fight the longer you live." That is directly from the same message that you pulled your quote from. How is it that your defending players who don't fight in something called an Arena when there is a statement like this on the Arena homepage?? The defense was meant to augment the battle experience, NOT REPLACE IT!!
"Battle Arena does not affect any of your regular gameplay stats (survival streak, wins/losses etc.). Think of it as a separate gameplay mode where other features like counter attacks, rival lists and other regular gameplay features are not affected or used." Separate gameplay mode. If it's separate, then why fight if its separate.
There's plenty of players in the game that don't attack much at all. Are they playing wrong? I don't think so. Are those that hit the minimal and ride it out in d mode playing it wrong? No, like it or not it's strategy. Kano already killed the inactive strategy even though someone had won a vc arena with 0 attacks. That showed its strategy but it was taken away and the number in these arenas was higher until the change to inactives were made. That was the cause of the decrease in number.
The arena goes until there is 1 player left or time runs out, if time runs out health remaining is used as the tiebreaker. That's another part of the help, where does that say fight?
No actually your wrong there. KANO, at least on the FB platform, initiated the benchmarks after the first Arena because too many people who didn't play at all finished in the top ten. So then they put in benchmarks that one had to reach, minimal hits, to be able to rank. Since KANO put in something like that it would seem to me that their intention was that you fight. And we are not talking about the regular game here where your free to build an all defensive character if you want and not fight. We are talking about a specific element of the game that was made for fighting. The Battle Arena. Geez Ben it even has "battle" in its title. It's not called the Defensive Arena. If we played your way the Arena would never end. Its not a strategy. That word is tossed around too loosely. Its a loophole that people who don't want to fight are exploiting so that they can finish in the top ten without doing anything. Any way you slice it that's the case. The benchmarks need to be lifted.
I honestly feel that those that fight and use their resources are not getting a fair deal , for me it does not make sense. I do not play it all the time and did not play this last one and am glad I did not after seeing who ranked in the top ten compared to those in the top ten who actually fought and each arena this has become more problematic so some adjustment is needed in some way .
It's great making 10 to 20 levels off of the defense players. Meat for the grinder. So what's the issue? If you're highly active you gain levels. Those that hit minimal wont receive near as much exp and levels out of it as active players. So again, what is the problem?
