Tips please. Might be good for me or good for anyone.
To me the games have gone to a style that is not close to the original.
1) The developers won't tweak a feature that underlies the regular game that holds the interest of multiple players: war mode. Any suggestions for change are pointless, the "developers" have said. Unless there was a way to monetize the mode, that is the end of war mode as the interest in it is dying (you get that Kano?). Absent that interest, what is there? For me, nothing. For many others, nothing. War mode gave someone a team to play with and fight with. And gave smaller players a chance to play and meet good players who would inevitable pass on good information on the game overall. Now? We won't be coddled in any way, as they, the "developers" have I guess other projects more important than what is the fuel to the regular game. We want changes, and there is no mechanism as the door has been shut on our faces. When a company says no like this, the message is two fold: a) you don't matter, b) we don't care.
2) Money players. Yes. To spend is to keep the business alive from a certain point of view. It is not just player revenue that keeps them going. Other revenue sources exist and they are a growing company. Its not from the "Game of Thrones" or whatever that epic failure was. But money players who don't mind popcorn and drink money blown here, are faced with a decreasing overall game as people thwarted say in changing the iterations up in Battle Arena, decide enuf: its not a contest anymore of minds but of clicks and time, and clicks means real world wonga. So again its money wins. Not brains. Not build. Not strategy. Not team play. The antithesis of social play is Battle Arena.
3) The antithesis of social play is also the Raid Boss. Monthly, the game shuts down for 8 days as these beasts are sought out and beaten on. Why? Because they exist and if you are a blind squirrel, you still get into a Raid. You then become at one with your mouse as you grind levels or hits "dead" in the real game, laughing as what u can do, in the ultimate hit n hide.
4) Goodwill. At Support, that means listening and responding. In the forum, the same goes. One Community Manager, who is hung out there, the best so far, relies on the faceless "Developers" as if they are the gods. In an analogy, its like the PR using a standard out clause when things get untidy. The "Developers" - are they the code warriors? Game designer? Content marketer? Content Feedback Manager? Or is it that one is set on the concept of plausible deniability and "trust" to say "the developers are not willing to change anything at the moment"?
5) You want "my" feedback or the group I am associated with? My feedback says death knell has arrived. My groups feedback shows that Kano is not listening to people who play their games. And people are saying goodbye to each other now. Daily.
So in light of 1 through 5, if it is break time, to see to see if they actually did listen to their customers / players or have a good game in mind for current and potential customers, how do we all really accomplish this? Its a shame it comes to this, for many many friends, but I can see the future and it's not the game I want to play.
Tips on quitting? There is no Kano Inhaler / Atomizer on the market. No Kano patches. No Kano gum.
