Battle Arena - Survivor

  1. Kendall great general idea about the Battle Arena, however I have one concern if everyone is visible to each other.

Say I attack a level 5000 in the Arena and win them a few times, won't this have them slightly annoyed?

What's to say they won't come back and make my game hell outside of the arena? I think it would be best if it is kept in brackets and not a free for all :)

I do agree with Dylan on this one also. Some individuals take games way to seriously. And since you will be battling them they will see your link or have your link and can bookmark it and bounty you outside of the arena constantly. Thus creating more bullies. Brackets is the best way to go. And if you want it to be a real killer of an arena fight. Figure out how to merge all games into the arena at one time. So you will have pirates battling mobsters or slayers or vikings that would be fun. That way you would have enough players to fill in brackets for all levels. Its a funny thought but probably not possible.

so if i understand this correctly my build will have no intrinsic value will be as random as the lotto or indeed some of the punhes i throw (right down to a 1 ) so i could be tag teamed and out in less that 2 mins ...despite my build...

and you want me to pay the biggest premium the lower levels will have a bigger chance of killing me
despite the fact as we stand not killing many of them anyway because you have a block already....

if your just looking for the higher levels to LOAN you their account .....why arent you just offering us ...massive weapons
    for normal use
and ill happly LOAN you my ( paid ) for account you can keep the lower levels intrested ?

am kinda on the fence with this one ........convince me ?

This is a really good point. Do you think any high levels are going to put up with some low level being able to beat them and let that go unpunished?

The reward should also be dependent on income just as the entry fee is. It can even be a combination of both income and level.

Sounds like the higher ups will still be bullying lower accounts there should be a way to level the let's say a higher player attacked a lower player the defenders mob (lower player) should determine how many of the higher players mob can if a level 2000 player with 2000 mob attacks a level 1500 with 1500 mob then only 1500 mobsters of the level 2000 should be able to fight and vice versa if a level 500 with a mob of 2000 even if they can't use all 2000 cuz of their level but they have 2000 mobsters and they fight a level 2000 with 2000 members the level 500 should be able to fight with the 2000 members as long as they are they are fully armed....that might even it up a bit even though the higher player will have better weapons.

    Hi there Deltan!

I am not sure I follow all the "roll" stuff, but I am very intrigued by this idea.....and certainly more than will to give it a try! So a question for you? Would this be a limited time feature, at intervals through the day, or would it be an ongoing, continual feature?

if you guys make this happen you should also consider the time difference. you could make it a time so we all can play.
I know most players are from the US or somewhere on that time but some of us are from Europe...
  10. Its interesting for sure but not really anything I'm interested in personally.
I've played games where the fight system was based of off "dice rolls" and let me say... ITS NOT THAT MUCH DIFFERENT
Yes there is a chance that someone with 1,000 attack could attack and win against someone with 4,000 defense but truth is, the 4000 defense player is 3,000 times more likely to win. (not to mention the extra hired squad and weapons they will bring into the battle)

Now you want my feed back, here it is:
Do away with the MAX Damage Restriction for the Battle Arena (Dev.'s you know what I'm talking about)
The normal fight system is set so that the MAX Damage you can inflict upon your opponent is determined by which of the two players have the lowest health. (This prevents strong players from killing weaker players with 1 attack from full health)
In a Battle Arena environment, and with the dice roll system, a strong player should be able to knock a weaker player out with one hit.
  11. I like the bracket idea but it also sounds like a lot of fun being able to tear into whoever you want also. It would be neat if you had a help attack button in the arena that would call out to anyone participating to let folks know who you are trying to take out . If the lower and mid level clans would team up somehow then they could in essence take out the usual winners or very high level clans and allow for lower levels to actually have a shot at winning. I understand all about being bullied by a team of high level folks but isn't fighting what Vikings are all about? There just has to be enough of a chance of a low level player actually winning the arena to draw us all into the fight. If Kano can pull off an idea to make sure that it isn't always won by the same really strong clans then I can see this idea being a huge success. Perhaps Kano could make the top 3 or 4 participating clans sticky on the top of everyone's battle arena list so everyone would know who to tear into. This really does sound fun but I'm asking you KANO to be sure that there is a chance of someone taking the win other than a select few.
  12. It will be the same ppl who win and it will be the strongest players on your respected game. (which is only fair)
Its not logical for a 120lb man with a knife to take down a 230lb man with a 9mm LOL!!!

I think thats half the idea to bring back battling as a more prominent feature, so i think a feature like this would help that.

Fortunately its an "opt in" feature so if one doesnt wanna risk the extra attention for the rewards they dont have to.

Even with brackets u will have lower levels hitting the highest of levels.....unless of course a bracket consists of 3 If a lower level attacks a higher level u can hardly call the higher level a bully. This feature promises large rewards.....players need to decide for themselves whether the risk is worth the reward....THATS THE BEAUTY OF IT.......Self accountability!

Besides....if this feature is truly separate from the game.....then attacks within the arena may not open one up to attacks. It would just be bounties. and thats they way it already stands.

The randomness evens it up enough by simply giving the lower level a shot at winning. Why on earth would the higher level both pay more to enter and have their account handicapped? This would be an opt in feature, not an individual players will have to make the choice if the reward is worth the risk. They can always stick to battling those within their level range if they wish....nobodies forcing them to participate.

I completely understand what your saying Jerome.....but maybe this just shouldnt be a feature for low levels, from the early beginnings of these game the highest of levels have always been restricted to some extent and are not allowed to inflict their full might on any lesser basically defeats the purpose of leveling and making ones account stronger to a degree. In the end the lower leveled players simply need to use common sense and not go after the big dogs unless they r willing to suffer the consequences. The low to mid level player which make up the largest group of player in the games have everything available to them limitlessly and and have plenty to look forward to as they level up with this large group of players.

In the end the highest of levels simply dont need any more restrictions in order to level the playing field....the highest levels r should reap every benefit of their builds. In a feature like the one being suggested here.....the highest of levels should have the far better shot and things should not be put in place to insure they don"t. Its an "opt in" if a lower level wants risk the consequencs for a chances at the reward be it. They just gotta know they have a lesser time maybe it will motivate some to level up and get stronger

Im not sure that the stats of some of the extreme high levels are as far apart from others as some may think, players at the highest of levels normally have a boat load of stam which costs 2 skill points each whereas the bulk of low to mid levels dont seem to focus as much on stamina.

Can't wait to check it out! I will wait to judge then till it happens but I would like to see that the battle in regular play is cut off while in the arena play and that a high level cannot retaliate outside of the arena once you are out of it.

From what I understand of the game mechanics mentioned for the battle arena, I am not sure clicking someones name is going to take your to their 'normal game' page, which would mean they could not get your 'normal game' link to exact vengeance. Maybe I am reading into it too much and thinking too far ahead but it does sound like when you will click on someones name in the Battle Arena it will take you to a page with their arena wins/losses/medals/badges etc, although I may be mistaken :)

NOTE:These calculations assume there will be a 'classic' roll system where every number has an equal chance to be drawn

Your calculations are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out, not even in the right ball park.

If you have 1000 attack and someone has 4000 defense then that means there are 4,000,000(4million) possible rolls of your two contributing figures.

Any of the possible 1000 rolls of attack you have(1-1000) vs the first 1000 defense they have gives you all fights where both results are under 1000 and meaning you will win half of those. This gives you a million results and you will win half of those which is obviously 500,000 out of 4 million and therefore 1 in 8 chance to beat someone in a fight who has 4 times your attack.

Hope this helps clear up the many many questions about 'how likely are low levels to beat high levels'
