Are loyalty items worth it?

How long and how often someone has played has nothing to do with it. If you play every day for more than 3 years and don't spend a dime, you'll never get past the gold tier. I can see why spending has something to do with it, but you have to literally spend thousands of dollars to get all of the tiers unlocked, and if you don't, you can't use the "loyalty" points for anything else.

    Believe me I know . :)

  3. You don't have to spend thousands but you need to spend a fair amount. But only the Devs can tell you exactly how much is needed :)

You actually can get an idea by the percantage of where you are in relation to the next area and for me that was not my goal , rather than being aware of what tier ,it was about getting FP for what I wanted to get with them

Really? What about those of us that play more than one game (I play 3 myself). And the progress is not aggregated across multiple games, so YES, you DO have to spend thousands of dollars if you want to have the same level of success across all of the games that you play. And even if you choose not to, how many useless gold tier items are you supposed to buy with "loyalty" points that can't be redeemed in any other way? I really can't believe that this is not more of an issue, unless everyone else quits playing after they get to the gold tier.

I'd be really interested to see a leaderboard of players stuck on 0% to platinum...

Would be really interesting to see how people not spending money get on. Might convince them to spend some money as well :(

Depends i guess. If you buy the right items and not waste your loyalty points, they can be worth it. each to their own though i guess.

Or leave. At lot of pay2win games have an ever-widening gap between a small group of big spenders and the low spending/free players. The result is that more and more of these lagging players leave and new players give up quickly after seeing how far behind they are & only fall behind further if they keep playing. Then top players/spenders get bored due to the lack of fresh faces at the top and quit too: dead game.

I guess that would boil down to ones perseverance. Just sayin'

No, because the heavy spenders go faster than even the most persevering free player can match. Imagine running after a Ferrari. You're only going to fall further behind, no matter how hard you run.

Everyone seems to be missing the point. Perserverance has nothing to do it. The number of times you pull out your credit card does. It just sucks that someone that spends hundreds of dollars in less than a year gets more than someone else who has played more than 3 times as long but hasn't spent as much. I know money makes the world go round, and we need spenders in the games, but you should not HAVE to spend money to reach all of the tiers after a certain length of time. And it does NOT say this on the LP page. It says that progress is "more heavily weighted" towards purchases, it should say that "you can't progress without spending money, you jerk."

Got to agree with this. I felt a little cheated when I realised I was stuck on 0% to platinum and couldn't advance, a heads up would have been nice.

It is false advertising and should be changed IMHO.

  14. And how long you been trying to gain platinum tier since gaining gold??

If it is 100% for definite then Mi7ch could you address the situation for us please?

Long enough to see that it doesn't budge from 0% progress. Although arguably it could take a year to gain 1% towards platinum and I wouldn't know, but at that rate the game will be dead and buried before you get to platinum, so it doesn't matter either way.

exactly. i've been playing for about a year. once you hit gold, the meter doesn't budge even 1% if you don't spend money at all.

BTW. If Mi7ch is reading this: I would like an official clarification whether you cannot progress beyond gold without spending. Just so we are all clear on this.

Secondly, if it is indeed utterly impossible for a free player to move past gold, I would appreciate if this is at least made clear under "More Info Here." Or alternatively, change it so free players get rewarded for loyalty as well.

you may not get an "official" response from kano. but that's the way this works. you can't get higher than the gold "loyalty" tier unless you spend money. it hasn't changed since i've been playing, so i wouldn't hold your breath. i really don't see it being changed to allow progression without spending money, either.

Ok Mitch should be in shortly, but I am gonna go out on a limb, here and say spending , does have the most if not all , to do with moving the loyalty bar, for the simple fact that is is in the list of DavyJones, Or God, etc area where things can be purchased, But Mitch can answer the part about impossible or possible to move the bar.

As far as the game ending in a year, why and what would that have to do with anything, when we spend we spend on virtual items for a virtual game and nothing is tangible, and when the games does ever end, that is it, like other games , that either get dropped by their company or just close up shop, ya get what ya pay for , use it in the game for your own personal enjoyment.

I know people who have spent ,nothing, very little or alot , ,yet it has not stopped the non spenders from playing or getting strong, and or hampered their games.

it's not that the game "ends". it's just that you can do a lot without spending money, except get more "loyalty" items. at this rate, i'll have thousands of unused "loyalty" points that i can't do anything with. i think it should be difficult, but not impossible, to move past the gold tier without spending money. i don't think that's too much to ask, is it?
