What Guild can I join?

Just a thought folks. As we all know, within guilds we are able to have up to 25 members. The more daily players we have the higher the Guild score and the bigger the rewards. Some leave their guild for various reasons, offline, moving house, bored with the game, want to change guilds, hospitalised or ill and so on. This leaves the founder and officers with the problem of recruitment. Is it possible to have a new page where perhaps guilds are able to advertise their spaces for those who are interested in joining? Then those potential recruits are able to see what the requirements of any given guild may be and are able to see what types of guilds are available?

At the moment the only way I can see of recruiting new members is to look at somebodies avatar and game name to get an idea of who they are and send an in game message which in itself is very limiting. If there was a page where guilds could advertise what kind of players they are looking for it would make life a lot easier for all of us I am sure. Some people want English speakers only or French or Spanish etc., others want a generic type of player and so on. On the old system we had an ideas page but if there is one here I cannot find it so I apologise if this is not the correct place to stick this post. If not then admin, please feel free to move this post elsewhere. Thank you.

Thanks Jades but I think you misunderstood me. I don't really want to smother my FB page with game stuff besides, if I just do a regular recruit request it posts on FB anyway. I am talking about within VC being able to recruit guild members more easily. In here there are already people who play and want to play. I am talking about making it easier to recruit within the game itself where people want to play and develop their game, maybe join a guild for the first time or even change guilds for some reason. At the moment the only way to do it is look for people and send individual invites to them. There is no place where guilds can recruit within the game and there is no place an individual can check guilds out and see what ones they may like to join.

I am suggesting that we have a page where guilds can advertise their spaces and qualification levels for new members and those who want to join a guild can look in this 'shop window' to see what is on offer.

you could start a thread right here for starters and another recruit page on fb which wont clutter your fb acct at all

Hmmm I have seen similar type threads on here but not about joining guilds, newbie threads usually. However as you and I both know it is probably a fairly small percentage of players who actually bother to log on to the forum in addition to playing the game. It is always the same old faces and occasionally you see a new person or three. I think that if someone plays VC enough to eventually log on to the forum they are possibly already fairly well established as players and may not want to join or switch guilds. Could always give it a go but I am not sure it would work very well. As for running an FB page, that is a big net cast out to millions to narrow it down to the few who play VC and also want to join/change guilds. Not sure that would work very well either but thanks for the suggestions. At least you are joining in the conversation here so thanks :) I think that with the captive audience who are interested and play VC that it would be a good idea to have an area, call it a 'training camp, or a neutral market place/recruitment office or whatever where players could easily view guilds who want to recruit. There is a guild list of every guild at the moment but I am not sure that it fits the bill. There could be an area where guilds are recruiting which is blocked if they are not recruiting. I know I set our guild to recruiting or not depending upon if we have spaces or not. Pointless including guilds who don't want anybody else which is what the only list we have is. It could be somewhere where the guild leader/officers could state what type of recruits they are looking for i.e. common interest, language spoken, nationality etc., the list is quite long. Just a description box with about 300 characters would do.
I am saying this because when we are recruiting the only thing I can do at the moment is trawl through my clan looking for possibles and asking them, also asking my guild to do the same. We have recruited in the past by personal invitation but it is very time consuming.

I think what I am suggesting would be a great help not only to guild leaders and their officers but also those wanting to join or change guilds for some reason.

They will find you if wanna join guild, sit back and wait. Keeping the family together is usually a harder task.

I've had some guild members for years now - nice and loyal. I've lost some due to work pressures & illnesses e.g. cancer treatment in hospital and the like, had 2-3 of those sadly. One guy was still faithfully playing from his hospital bed on his phone but found lying on his side was really awkward. I've got a few gaps now because of such leavings (real word?). So because I am yet again faced with wanting to get more recruits to regain a higher position in the league table I keep trying to think if there is a better or more profitable way of recruiting. Yes Jades I get people asking to join but if they are too low in level there is not much point as they will get wiped out in a guild attack. Not fair to them or the rest of the guild either. I was proposing something that I think might help everyone concerned to either find a guild or find recruits - depending on which side of the fence you are. I guess if you are not a guild leader or an active officer you would not notice this problem.

Well, I am the "so called leader" of TPB, FC/VC and don't l care for the title/term, we are a team/family. People seek out family oriented guilds IMO. I for one will never add any low level player to get slaughtered, but certain requirements are needed to join. Are they active in chat, post bosses etc, I never cared for point stuff in guild, and bet all TBP would back me up on it. It's a family, get 1 bad seed they crap rolls downhill..

I know what you mean. The leader is only the person who parted with one billion coins in the first place - back when that seemed like a lot of coin!!! I agree with the team/family approach because that is how we do it too, even outside of VC some of us know each other and have met up for a beer etc.. I even rode a long way to meet one guy in hospital in the UK after a bike accident because as you say, you learn to care for each other as you get to know each other. Led a rideout to the hospital so that was fun when we all turned up to visit :D We have a minimum level to join the guild so the newbie is not disadvantaged or at risk. Still leaves me with the problem of finding the right recruits for the guild, hence my initial question. If enough people were finding the same problem then the devs might do something about it but if a lot of guild officers don't bother to recruit but just wait for anyone to apply to join then they will not have the problem of looking for recruits. In my guild we all have a common link but I know that a lot of guilds will just accept anyone who applies. I have noticed some guild alliances that used to be strong and full of good players have changed in time to become weak guilds with many new players under level 1000. I guess that if guild leaders and officers don't actively recruit then they are not bothered, I think this problem will only apply to people who actively recruit and are a bit selective about getting the right team members together. I have probably refused more applicants that I have accepted because they were to low or really would not fit for some reason. I have two who climbed up in level until they reached the minimum and then reapplied and joined us. They are now part of the team.
