This may be the most inane question ever posed in these forums. But what determines where a players lands on the list when they help on someone elses boss? Other than the obvious(amount of damage) whats the determining factor? if 10 players reach the max damage...what determines the rank in which they are listed? Completely random? Ive ruled out number of hits and what order players got to a the boss. Kano?
I'm fairly sure it's a complicated algorithm that takes into account the position of the moon, the relative distance from Earth to the center of the universe and the geographical location of the player in relation to the geographical location of the boss superimposed on a map of the planet...or it could be completely random. I'll see if I can get a developer to chime in on this!
It is completely random so it very well could be using the algorithm Mitch laid out. Basically it will list in descending order from most dmg dealt to least which is fairy obvious. For the cases where there are players tied with the same dmg dealt there is no rhyme or reason how they are ordered other than how they are returned to us by the DB/Cache. Glad we could get to the bottom of this

I know it was a really dumb question and the order has no bearing on the game....just one of them quirky lil things i have had rolln around in ye olde noggin for awhile and I finally remembered to ask. Ya never know when u might stumble upon the great secret of the games...it never hurts to ask The search continues....lol
