TGIF! What went on in Dev and Community this week? Player Bans October 4 - October 10 As a reminder, the following numbers are permanently frozen accounts, and don't count temporary freezes. KPs2: 17 The majority of permanently frozen accounts are frozen for being a shared or alternate account. This is something we actively investigate, and we appreciate players reporting suspicious accounts to us. If you have any questions or comments about a frozen account, please direct them through Support as the Forums are not the place to discuss account freezes, because of the sensitive account information involved. New Limited Items! A new week means new Limited Items! Here’s what’s up for grabs: New Battle Drops! We released some new Battle Drops to the game this past week. These drops are for levels 19,000+. Crafting Recipes for Battle of Bifrost! This week saw the release of the Battle of Bifrost recipes. Go forth and craft! Support Report with your favorite burrowing, nocturnal mammal and Answerpreneur, Aardvark! Happy Friday, players! This has been pretty busy week for reports, so I thought it might be a good time to shine some light into our processes here at Kano when it comes to dealing with behaviour issues. First off, there seems to be some misunderstanding about our approach to this topic. Because our games are combat-oriented, we take the view that performing battle actions within the scope of the game, such as attacks or bounties, is within the rules and not considered abusive. However we do believe that some ingame interactions are not appropriate. Obvious ones include real-world threats, sexually explicit content, and excessive abusive language. We also have very little tolerance for messages of any kind that indicate other players may be sexual predators, as this is a serious topic in social and online gaming. Something we do hope you understand is that our team is not large. There are currently less than 20 people in the whole company and only 1 dedicated Support person ( yours truly ). Ultimately, we do have to rely heavily on players to be adults and avoid, block, mute, and ignore the people they don't want to interact with as we are not capable of policing every discourteous thing that someone might say or do in the game. That being said we ( mostly I ) DO review every single report made to us and do our best to deal with issues as fairly as we can. If you are bothered by player-created content you have seen in one of our games and feel it is inappropriate you are welcome to send it our way so we can take a look. Cheers, Aardvark out.
