TGIF! We continue to send positive thoughts to all our friends on the East Coast affected by Hurricane Sandy, and wish everyone a speedy recovery. You are all awesome, and look to be well on the road to recovery! Let's take a look and what went on in Dev and the community this past week. Player Bans Oct 27 - Nov 2 As a reminder, the following numbers are permanently frozen accounts, and don't count temporary freezes. FB: 28 MS: 8 As always, we are committed to keeping our games fun and fair for everyone, and will continue to ensure that players are playing fairly and within our Terms of Use by swinging the banhammer where it needs to be swung. If you have any questions or comments about a frozen account, please direct them through Support as the Forums are not the place to discuss account freezes, because of the sensitive account information involved. New limited items! A new week means new limited items! Look awesome? Go get them! Facebook Offsite Game Policy Change Facebook recently announced a change to their policy regarding offsite versions of games on Facebook that will take effect December 5th, 2012. You can read more about it here. Frozen Account Display Change Because of the continuing community confusion concerning frozen accounts, we made a change last week with how permanently frozen accounts are displayed. A permanently frozen account will now display "Account Unavailable" when the profile for that account is browsed. These accounts will still show up in your battle lists so you can exact the necessary retribution. We believe this change will put more emphasis on active players, and will allow the community (i.e. you) to better understand the work we do in keeping the games fun and fair for everyone. Running out of steam in the Battle Arena A few weeks ago, an exploit was uncovered in the Battle Arena because of player activity, which we remedied through a couple of fixes and a throttling feature introduced earlier on in the week. The throttling feature is designed to prevent players from abusing exploits within the Battle Arena by limiting the number of actions a player can make over a given amount of time. Through testing and player feedback, we have tried to make these limits extremely difficult to hit normally while maintaining their ability to prevent exploitation of the feature. If you have run into the throttling feature in the arena without using an exploit or similar violation of our Terms of Use, please send a message in to Support to let us know. Mobile Link to Off-site version For those of you who play on a mobile device, you'll be please to know that we've fixed the link to the off-site version from the mobile version. You can also access the off-site (full canvas) version on your mobile device by bookmarking fb.kanogames.com, which you can also put right on your home page. Support Report Hey players! Normal enough week here in support, but we have had some confusion over messaging so here's some quick info: Kano employees are only able to monitor and investigate communication and content inside of our apps and forums. If someone says something nasty to you on Facebook chat or on your Myspace stream, we can't really do much about it, except recommend you report the person to whoever is responsible for behaviour on that channel. Inside the game we have barriers in place to help prevent abusive communication. This is why players cannot send messages freely to people who are not in their guild or on their clan/friends lists, and must choose from a pre-approved list of options. If you are receiving abusive or inappropriate communication from someone in-game, removing them from your Squad and social network will prevent them from easily contacting you again. You can also report them to us from their character profile page. -Melanie Joke of the week! Joke of the week time! As you may guess based on how awful it is, the following joke is another Wonder Bread original, made up on the spot for you! Why doesn't the earth trust the sky to make important decisions? Because the sky's judgement is usually clouded! Highlight for hilarious answer! Click here for the appropriate sound effect. Have a great weekend everyone! As a follow up to last week's random Wonder Bread-related note, I ended up going 6-3, which, while not as good as I'd hoped, was reasonable. We're having our first ever M:tG PTQ in Victoria this weekend, so I'm hoping to do better on home turf. Wish me luck! Play Now! I'm a lil confused to what this means? are you saying that i am going to be limited in attacks? coz i swear if i'm about to kill somone & something pops up saying "i've reached a limit in actions please wait" i'll freakin snap! lol!!! i understand a need to make changes, with all the ppl using hot keys. i just hope it doesn't affect me
from what i have heard the feature running out of steam is to stop people who look like they may be useing some sought of speed click there are many that use hotkeys and such so there able to click faster than usual ,its a tweak on there mouse settings is one of the things some use if you are clicking to fast it mite be seen as u useing something now i usually click my mouse like a pyscho chaining someone down from 500 mil to the kill and i dont stop untill the kill i want to kill quick before someone spots it and jumps in my worry is for some of us who click our mouses quick because we chain so fast this mite be seen as useing some sought of method and get slowed down by the new feature i hope not and hope this does not affect us but we have to see in the next BA
ya i'm the same way Fusheng , i have a high end mouse n a sweet spot on my mouse that i can click supper fast. i ran into the feature n was like wtf? lol "You're running out of steam, wait 2 seconds before your next attack!" as much as it worried me someone might steal the kill on me, i'm glade it is in place to annoy cheatters with hotkeys. ect...
just a update IpeeFreely i was worried too but im in the LCN BA at the moment and i chained 2 mobs down from 500 mill to kill and i clicked my mouse very very fast and so far it has not affected the play so it seems the feature is tweaked pretty good
i've killed 80 ppl in the arena & only a couple of them/times the new feature poped up.... its a nice addition to the arena!!!, defidently good job to Kano on cracking down on cheaters!
