TGIF! Development News for March 29, 2019

Happy Friday, everyone!

With the return of nicer weather comes the return of seasonal allergies! This week was another busy one for us here at the Kano HQ, despite the allergies running rife in the office. Let’s go over what’s new in development updates:

March Raid Event

Medusa has returned to Pirate Clan! Before she turns you to stone, make sure to band together with your mateys and earn some Raid Tokens!

With Pirate Clan running, the March Feature Raids are now just about over. The Raid Shop was a lot of fun to make, and seems to have gone over fairly well judging by some of the comments and tickets we’ve seen, as well as the stats we can see regarding the Raids.

Next month’s Raids will be of the regular variety, but who knows what the future has in store...

Content Releases



With the city of Washington DC firmly under their thumb, Mobsters are now able to challenge the deadly Bodyguard Co-op Boss! The Minigame is available as well, with Crafting coming next week.

In other Content news, new Legendary Crates will be out next Friday! Loyalty item refreshes will also be hitting mid-April, and I’ll have a firmer date for you closer to release. We’re also looking at Pirate/Viking Clan Locations in the near future, so stay tuned for more news there as those approach!

A Statement on Lounge Chat

The Lounge is for players looking for a competitive environment with other like-minded players. Moderation on this channel is light by design and players are expected to mute those that bother them.

While trash-talking about the game is encouraged and largely why the Lounge is a thing in the first place, this has evolved to become far more toxic and hostile recently than we had intended it to be, and frankly it just isn’t a fun place to be sometimes.

This is why we’re giving fair warning that very soon we will start making serious strides to get the Lounge back to its original intention, enhancing the game experience for our most competitive players. Some players have adapted to the Lounge’s rules to operate within the guidelines, but as we work on cleaning up the toxicity, it’s worth remembering that you can still follow the rules while contributing to a negative environment. So consider this fair warning.

Access to the Lounge is not a right. By joining Lounge chat you acknowledge that moderation on this channel is light by design, and messages/players will be removed/banned in cases as deemed so by Kano/Apps sole judgement.

Mobile Update

One final note for this week, we’ve closed off access to some very old versions of the mobile apps. In addition to being out-of-date, and therefore possibly unstable from a performance standpoint, these older versions could also potentially have small issues or exploits that have been fixed in current iterations of the game.

We do this occasionally to make the games run as smooth as possible for every player. In order to ensure that you are getting the best version of the mobile apps, please update to the most recent versions available on your device!
