How come rival out of my XP range appeared in my battle list? Or is that normal? Me lvl 1036 and him lvl 1157.His profile said he's out of my XP range.
This is normal. He cannot hit you unless you hit him, then he will have 24 hour retaliation window. You can challenge yourself by hitting those out of your exp range.
Same for me. The game allows you to attack upwards out of your XP range but not downward. Gives you a larger fight list to chose from if you want to be gutsy and/or stupid.
Stupid is the key word, lol. It's incredibly annoying to be attacked by someone 200 levels beneath you with a 37% attack boost. I don't like being annoyed like that. We have our methods...
a person many levels above you might appear on your rival list unprovoked if you had a bounty placed on you while you were logged out. when you log back in you might not be notified of the bounty but you will see the higher level players on your rival list, this is usually how I know that I was hit with a bounty by someone I pissed off (I've also noticed that anyone can bounty anyone else within their xp range unprovoked)
