more damage to bosses

    I've been trying to figure out how to do some major damage to bosses. is it all based on level, or equipment, or what?
    i'm about level 85 with 70 atk and sometimes a member of mine will help with bosses, he's 140~ with about 100 attack
    but i average like 500-600 damage on something he averages around 2100 damage. is there some trick or combo?

    he has a UN point wep/gear/vehicle but i only have a wep/gear
