Okay... I'm seriously wondering; why exactly is the idea that you can hit people back who attack you so utterly foreign to so many VC players? Given how many different people I attack (and I only attack people who give me good XP more than once), I'd seriously expect that they'd be hitting me back, yet I would conservatively estimate that only about 5-10% of the people I attack actually do hit me, even if they have a larger clan than I have and are online when I hit them. Most of these folks either do nothing at all (which I can understand; maybe they're AFK and never check their attack history), but a few will set up axe slapping campaigns (usually only once, since I always take it out of their hides if they do) or bounties (again, usually only once). In a few cases, they'll axe slap me themselves (which boggles my mind, since they get no XP from it). The largest percentage will ask to join me, and I'll certainly accept that offer (occasionally suggesting that we remain "enemies" and keep hitting each other for XP instead), but I really can't understand any of these reactions. Unless you're a higher level than I am, I'll always hit you back, even if only to see if I can get XP from you, and if I can, I'll add you to my target list. It seems to me that any halfway decent player here does exactly that. So why do so many people not want to attack anyone?
