Hello all. So how do you play? Do you concentrate on outbreaks? Do you work on achievements? Fights? You get the idea. Right now, I am working on boss achievements. A couple days ago it was the Hitlist. Saw a couple of high level bounties and went after them, only to get hitlisted and destroyed quickly. Hey, what can i say? The money was tempting lol. Really, I am wondering what areas my fellow slayers like to concentrate in. Jager
I think to do well you need to do a bit of everything. I note the top players in the game have really high boss kills. The game tends to lean towards fighting in my opinion with the significantly higher XP payout per stamina used. That said, you get extra skill points for every job completed and the other achievements are accrued from all areas of the game equally.
I try to do a bit of everything, though I've been fighting less and less because it seems that the higher level you are, the worse the retaliation is when you attack somebody. Luckily, I can level pretty easily by depleting my energy on outbreaks and my stamina on bosses. Two rounds of using them all up and maybe a fight or two for the last few XP points. Then with leveling they all refill, so I get about half-way to the next level just by leveling. I quite like it, but I doubt it will last once I require more XP to level than I can get in two rounds. I don't know about players between a few levels above me up to the higher players that are not on the leaderboard, but versus players in the levels around mine, I have way more boss kills. And versus their fight numbers, mine are fairly low. I do well in fights, usually, but I came to the game to kill zombies, not so much my fellow players.
I apologize, I wasn't clear. I know how to play the game, according to my profile, I'm on day 47. It was more of a what is your preference? Do you like the figting or the outbreaks?
I focus more on Health and ATk, mainly because there's not any1 on fight and if there is they have ambushes; I get bounties when there placed, I keep attacking the person on the hitlist even if I lose and I get the bounty quick because I have lots of health.
I fight. I've been playing 16 days and I've just broken into the world leaderboard for fight wins. My defense is a good chunk above average for my level (150) too so I don't get my ass handed to me after I beat someone up and they feel like retaliation Outbraks are just a side part of the game that I need to do get on with other stuff. Bosses are good, dont have too many of them yet but I will when I get higher on the level front.
Just read this, went on and a higher level hit popped up. I kept attacking, had to heal but got the hit! Never even thought of that before, just got the You Lose and stopped. Thanks for the 15,000,000+. Your check is in the mail
I'm starting to regret building up my health, now they can hit me like 20 times before I'm in the hospital.
I like people with heaps of health, just means I can beat them longer before I have to find someone else with reasonable XP
I don't fight much, so I'm usually logging on to find that somebody has attacked me 18 times. And while I don't mind that part too much, I don't really like losing $200k per attack. I rarely retaliate, but I set up ambushes a LOT and find most people do come back and attack again the next day or a few hours later. Even though they hit the ambush, even if I set up 8 of them, they'll heal and reattack until I've run out of ambushes and then attack another 18 times. I'm gradually moving on to other games. Seems like Kano wants people to harass others and that's not my thang.
well with large health, knock yourself down before you log off that way its not likely someone hit you before you log back on
I only blow through the ambushes and kill them once. If they come back at me, I'll do it again. The problem I'm finding as I level higher is that I see the same people on the fightlist all the time. Most think it's personal me hitting them every day but in fact it's because the amount of players available to fight is diminshing. I am starting to put points into energy now too but I still have 150 stamina per level to get rid of and nothing pays XP like kicking someone's ass
I don't see how you get more XP from fighting than from bosses. I get around 100 XP per Power Attack and with a fight, I'm getting 6 XP, 14 XP, 11 XP.. really pathetic numbers. And I try to fight people that are my level or higher. I really do my best to avoid attacking somebody in a lower level because they don't have the same opportunities to gain skill points that I have. Now one or two levels won't make a difference, but every now and then I'm attacked by somebody 80 levels above me and aside from not understanding how, I don't really understand why. I doubt they get that much XP from me. As for putting myself in the hospital before logging off - I do! Every time, I try to leave with the lowest health I can manage to give myself as much time as possible before being attacked again. But, as you informed me the other day, people can still place me on the hit list when I'm in the hospital. So now I try to leave with as little health and XP as possible. After logging on to find that I had gone from 2-3 pts away from the next level down to 0, I've learned my lesson and will try to log off with 0 XP until the devs fix it and I go negative. It seems I only get hit listed when I'm offline, so I try to prepare for it... Ambushes... I only set up ambushes when somebody repeatedly attacks me day after day. One attack, I tend to ignore. Multiple attacks, I consider attacking back if I think I have a chance, otherwise I just note the name and wait to see. If they come back and attack me multiple times again, then I'm going to set up a couple ambushes. I don't understand why people blow through them, but I've never hit one myself, so I don't know what happens on the other side of things. If they are gaining XP, I guess that would be a reason. But otherwise, you're just losing money and health. Most people I've ambushed have attacked me without first depositing all their money. So the money I win from their hitting the ambush basically pays for the ambush. And I'm not gonna turn down the skill points I log on to find from counter-attacks or anything... But I was under the impression that ambushes were supposed to be a bit of a deterrent. You keep attacking somebody, they set up an ambush, you hit it and realize that attacking them is more trouble than it's worth and move on to somebody else. Instead, it seems like it's seen as a dare to attack again...
I always attack the people with 20 squad first, then less if I still need the XP. The closer a player is to you in strength the more XP you get. I normally get between 20-65XP per 1 stamina point. That's equivalent to over 300XP per power attack for a boss (I get around 80-90XP for a boss power attack). Whats more is that I can get $140,000 per single attack as well as opposed to $50,000 for a boss power attack consuming 5 stamina. Now that I have more stamina though I struggle to find players anywhere near my strength so I end up hitting weaker players just to get XP. Fighting is the best way to make XP and money early on, but as mentioned before, the number of targets reduces the higher level you get.
Stevie is obviously correct. Even at higher levels (although he's higher than me) I still find it easy enough to find targets that pay 20+ experience so for my 5 stamina I get 100 experience compared to the 70-75 I get even from high level bosses. Add to that the fact there are the fighting achievements that pay rather well in skill points. I do believe the developers have to address the lower experience at higher levels though. I understand that as the game grows in popularity it will change a bit as far as the empty fight lists go, but it seems like the game starts to drag around level 120. Fighting for 3xp is a waste, but it still pays better than the best outbreak available to me. Given the increase in experience necessary to level having the experience available to us drop per stamina seems counterintuitive. The only way to keep getting decent xp at higher levels is to actually weaken yourself to match more of your opponents =/ not exactly what I want to do lol. The only solution I can think of is to give an experience modifier per level. To be honest I think this is already in place since you can't get 65 exp for a fight at level 1, however I think it should be addressed, either that or address the calculation for beating weaker opponents, since for some of us that is the majority of our fight list, perhaps a minimum xp per win at each level? Because honestly at level 131 getting 3 xp for one guy and 55 xp for the next seems extreme, especially when they both had 20 squad lol.
