i think that once you rid your old character thats it.

being able to switch would cause some imbalance and confusion to many players.

i know the reason behind this but im not getting into it...

figured a seperate thread is more appropriate as continuing this on the thread it was on would only derail it.

so yes im in strong disagreement with it.

but if you buy a character why are you in disagreement with being able to swap. i meen it is just like you buy a car then you buy another car a month later then somebody says you cant ever use your old car unles you buy it again. are you going to complain or what, personaly i would cus if i buy something i expect it to be mine after not having to buy the old one again to be able to use it once again

    not to be rude...

but getting a new character is like trading the car for another one.

if you want the old car back you have to buy it again.

if its a trade in then why dont those who have purchased one of the originals get a discount on a new one? no point in trading if youre getting nothing for your old car tp, you just keep it AND get a new one xD

Well said, Demonik! And I will not be drawn in to your drama, TP so don't imply that you know the reasons behind this. If I felt this wasn't beneficial to all who have purchased characters and potentially encourage people to purchase new ones I would never have suggested it, even though I originally did so in jest. Thank you, for quoting me :)

Since you only partially quoted me, I'm bringing over all of my comments :)

In response to, TP, I would think that more people would scream refund if they thought like you. As it is now, no one can use their previously purchased characters once they are swapped out. But, having the option to swap them in and out as you need their strengths, is a far better use of the favor points spent to purchase them. Who knows, it may even encourage more people to purchase the new characters when they become available.

i think that if you purchase a new character then the old one should be like an old weapon you keep it and if you want you use it

I agree with Polish for one reason and one reason only. I recently purchased one of the new characters and after the purchase went back and looked at the old one and the items that came with it are no longer in my inventory. So from upgrading to a new character i received the new items that came with it. But lose the old items from the older character i used. How is that fair you spent the money on the character at the time you should at least be able to keep the items of the character after the upgrade to keep in your arsenal.

i upgraded the first day they came out but didnt relize that you cant even keep the weapons from the previous character.

losing the weapons isnt that big a deal for the higher levels since the numbers arent the greatest but for someone thats around 1850 thats a pretty huge loss

I am talking about the loadout items that comes with the character upgrades you do when you purchase one. Those help any player and you should be able to keep them with the upgrades not talking about crafting or reg drops. Unless your just a mass cc player that has purchased all items to be over 300/300 as your lowest then yeah i guess they wouldn't help you anymore.

Thank you, for bringing this to our attention. I just assumed you would keep your inventory regardless if you purchased a new character...we did purchase them after all!

Also, has everyone noticed that you aren't able to purchase any of the old characters now...only the newest ones and not until level 2400? I understand the reasoning behind this but one would think people below that level should still be able to purchase the old characters. On second thought, maybe they can and I just can't tell because I am past level 2400? Does anyone know?

You can go back and purchase the old characters again all you have to do is when you click on the new ones look for the small little box that says level 1 level 100 and level 2400 just click on one of those drop boxes and it shows all the old characters. But when you click on the character upgrade itself now it automatically shows the new ones from now on unless you click that grey box. At least it's grey in Pirate Clan.

Found it...thank you, Jon. Now that I am able to view the items I received when purchasing a character, I checked my inventory and I do still have them. It's brutal that yours are lost :(
