If I attack a lower player I barely loose any health. If I attack someone stronger I will loose to many health without any chance to get it back.... still the lower and weaker its a better target.

I urge KANO to look at this again and quick. In one fell swoop you have destroyed the BA. Today I was going to be spending a wad on 1200fp, now not bothering. You guys have taken something that worked and players looked forward to and broken it. Your business model is wrecked as you guys are failing to look after the players you have. I'm gunning for a top 10 player position, think I will put that on the back burner now. What incentive do I have, if I hit 19,000 I don't even get a level award anymore. God knows what will happen on Thursday when you release the Cave Dragon Mark 2, if you have given it as much thought as you have for the arena then it will screw the game up even more. You guys need to have an urgent meeting and get a grip! Do any of you actually play the game?

For once listen to the players..just leave it as it was before, if we dont gain health what is the point to hit players in our range? to just loose health? why instead dont you do it that you dont get the health reward if you kill the same viking more than one time at least? Some players give opinions and not just criticise, listen to those trying to help you make the game better!

It seems we, the players, are going to have a ton of complaints in large part because what we didn't like with the previous version of BA is now even more in evidence. Just reading posts:

    1. it's obvious people were worried they'd be revived to "feed the lions", that is: no one wants to be revived only to be killed with no chance of participating. Now we have auto-revive, something it's easy to see that most people don't want.

    2. the essence of an "arena" is missing; there are no kill rewards and no reward for surviving.

Players aren't going to all agree that these two issues need to be fixed, but it looks like these are common complaints.

Anyhow, what inevitably happens is that the top players get the most rewards - these players will also do the most levelling (in percentage terms), thereby widening the performance gap and making a future balanced and fun gaming experience even more difficult to achieve. Levelling and FPs rewards need to be somewhat separated - if they aren't separated then Kano will create a game which doesn't reward low level players while creating a top tier of players who won't/can't be challenged.

We're all looking for a fun gaming experience - how about looking to see what players want. maybe doing a poll to see which features people want to see, which changes to make etc? And, Kano, how about sharing your goals for the game and gaming experience - instead of just stating that you've learned and seen something interesting?

Well...as my grandmother would of said...this event went to hell in a handbasket fast....Kano you actually had a good thing with the original BA...and now its ruined...put it back to the way it was...you thought interest was low before...its about to be a dead zone with only a few players left to carry it....i am beyond frustrated with this BA and the GW (as big a joke as the BA) ...scrap em both and start over...

Just to play devil's advocate here... I'm not a big fan of these changes, either. But I want to see for myself how it works out. Initially, getting revived every 8 hours sounds like a bad deal, but you only lose 5 percent of your score each time. Over 2 days, that's about the same as losing 33 percent getting killed once. Of course, I entered before these changes were announced, so I'll see for myself this weekend. If I don't like it, I simply won't play in them anymore, just like I haven't been able to each time when the slider was first implemented.

  12. Let me get this right:

    1. Everyone seemed to hate the revive feature added to the last arena.
    2. No-one complained about health increasing after a kill.

So the result is to keep the revive feature and remove the increased health from a kill. It must either be a joke or the end of the Battle Arena full stop.

How can anyone be foolish enough to make such a decision. From someone who used to love the BA, and even gave the last round a go to see how it played out, I'm afraid you have just broken the camels back (or gorilla in this case) with this one. I managed to get fifth place in the last arena after a several revivals , as it is not only the lower players that get killed, but it still wasn't the exciting experience it used to be!!!

Please put that button on the BA page to opt out of the next one as I cannot lend my support to such ludicrous changes and I will be scaling down on VC altogether if this nonsense continues!!!

Huge congratulations. Really. Well done Kano. You should be very happy with yourselves for royally screwing up the BA.

I will also play Devil's advocate. I'd like to give it a shot. Alot of the changes (lowered death point poss, etc) sound great. I personally am uncertain about this idea of "no health for attacking low level folks". I am a little confused on how you can really be successful in arena if you cannot build health up.

---- To all the players, both for and against the issue, let's "play it out" this next arena as a beta test, and if it is overwhelmingly the same opinion that many more hate the new arena vice like the changes, then I would opt for going back to the original format. But... Let's try it out first!.....

Exactly. I'm not sold on the changes yet, I'm just (trying) to keep an open mind. It sounds like Kano is monitoring participation, stats, etc. I would think that if participation falls off a cliff (more than it already has), some of these changes won't last very long. Trust me, if I'm not happy, I'll be sure to provide my feedback here. :p

Kano is trying different tactics to make arena an enjoyable experience for players of ALL levels; and that should be considered a GOOD THING.

Most of the people I see complaining about the changes are the higher level players who played long before BA was even part of the game.

How about instead of complaining you guys come up with some constructive ideas that you can live with AND still have the Arena still be somewhat playable for all?

I submitted a suggestion with regard to a tiered pyramid that would initially separate players similar to the fight list, but as BA wore on and players in each tier died out who ever was left would be redistributed into a larger group until eventually whoever was left was all together. No revival and separates the sharks from the chum, at least for a while. I also suggested prizes for high scorers in each tier - which would encourage more low players to actually play.

Else wise, I love the score system - no more riding defense mode into the top spots. Effort is required.

No gaining health? eh... is that just when beating up real low levels or on anyone??? Adjust that to a percentage based on level difference.
