Blacksmith - Under Giant recipe ONLY

This thread is ONLY for theories and trials of the Under Giant recipe. I contributed something similar with the Aegir Trident.

I have heard the Under Giant uses 3 different items: 2 gifts and 1 non-gift.
I have heard theories that it uses Frost Giant and/or Elder Frost Giant.

So I went and tested Frost Giant with some of my gifts, starting with Frost Giant + Thor Amulet:

The above items FAILED to make anything with Frost Giant and Thor Amulet. Also, I am missing some gifts...not sure why. Maybe I just overlooked them. I believe I have gone through ALL currently gift-able items, either ruling them out or stating that I lacked them
There are other items that used to be gift-able (like Bonfire, which I tested) but are no longer available.
And, to the best of my knowledge, no recipe in either Viking or Pirate Clan uses an ingredient that another recipe used. Yes, a recipe might use the RESULT of another, but they don't have the same ingredients.

I have also tested:
Frost Giant + Freyja's Tears + Hiking Boots
Frost Giant + Northern Knot Charm + Freyja's Tears
Frost Giant + Odin's Mask + Freyja's Tears
Frost Giant + Freyja's Tears + Blessed Oil

Could the Under Giant use a Blacksmith Warrior? Like "Land's End Sentinel"? That's the only one possible...

Anyone have hints or failed combinations? Please list them!

 

i was thinking that sentinel as well.its the only thing i dont have yet

 

Urgh. I am NOT going through that list again for the Sentinel.

One round was enough.

Any theories about the gifts? I thought the Odin's Mask + Freyja's Tears sounded neat...I hadn't tried the Sentinel with that, though...

 

More Guesswork

I just realized something! If only one item is a gift, then that item HAS to come from Niflheim.
Gifts are unlocked at all levels, correct?
Also, the level/location requirement for a recipe applies to at least one item, the one acquired last. In this case, that is the non-gift item.
Level 420...does anyone know what adventure is unlocked at that level? Niflheim opens at level 360, while Jotunheim opens at level 500. So one of the middle adventures from Niflheim. Or what can you buy at level 420?

Niflheims drops are:
ADVENTURE - Blood Decoy, Venom Dart, Frost Giant, Ice Dwarf, Yggdrasil Timber, Yggdrasil Ship
BOSS - Yeti Ice Helm, Ice Shard Catapult, Yeti Ice Mace, Yeti Ice Sword
CHALLENGE - (I don't know, but one of them is Sword of Ice and I heard the Elder Frost Giant drops as well)

If you keep thinking about it, you realize that it CANNOT be a boss drop, as the boss opens at level 360 and we need level 420. It also can't be the Blood Decoy, as that is also level 360.
The guess is that the non-gift is a Warrior (are there any Warrior gifts?) because the result is a Warrior, so there must be a Warrior in there somewhere. So it looks like we'll be using either the Frost Giant, Ice Dwarf, or Elder Frost Giant.
Someone suggested the Land's End Sentinel, but that's unlocked at level 150.

Are you following this argument? Or am I totally nuts?

 

FOR THE LAST FREAKING TIME, THE UNDER GIANT DOES NOT USE AUTUMN'S HAMMER!

The Hammer unlocks at level 2500.
Under Giant unlocks at level 420. It can be made at level 420. Autumn's Hammer CANNOT!

 

Level 420 unlocks the "Visit the Village of Mist 30 times". This unlocks the Odins Rune Challenge. Therefore it is logical to assume that the Elder Frost Giant is used in the Recipe.

Frost Giants, Ice Dwarfs, Poison Darts, Magic Timber and Yggdrasil Ship are out of the question for recipes. Blood Decoys are unlikely in my eyes.

I got the following fails from a smaller player whom I bribed into testing it out with the Hellfire Chariot Recipe.

Elder Frost Giant + Undersea War Helm + Undersea Shield
EFG + Undersea War Helm
EFG + Undersea Shield

Maybe one can use Yeti Drops for creating the Undergiant.

 

I don't think it uses the elder giant because the elder frost giant has a higher attack rating than the under giant. the elder frosy giant is 27A/27D, and the under giant is 25A/28D. It wouldn't make sense to use the blacksmith to make an inferior item.

 

But it boosts the defense...Yeah, I'm not convinced.
Anyways, I heard that the Under Giant is a non-gift and two different gifts (total quantity unknown).

 

At 420, you get the Frost Giant. At 440, you get the Ice Dwarf. Hope that helps.

 

The warrior Vidar Berserker becomes available to buy at 480, but I guess that's too late, huh?

 

But that helps quite a bit!
We know that the Vidar Berserker and any warrior after that won't be used!

 

I'm currently level 493 and the most recent gifts that had been made available for me to give are odin mask, pack mule, and hiking boots. So where these Nilfheim gifts or january gifts?

 

and the blessed oil. i believe i just got that while in the 400s as well.

It cannot be the Land's End Sentinel. I proved why in an earlier post.

And then two other players disproved MORE items; one said the Frost Giant will be used, the other that it is actually the ELDER Frost Giant.

It looks like the Under Giant does not use the Frost Giant AND the Thor Amulet.

What would really help is for someone to take the Frost Giant (or Elder Frost Giant) and systematically go through the gifts. Like I did for the Thor Amulet, you pick a gift and test all the other gifts. I know it takes awhile, but it's highly useful!
