[VC] Balancing the Bounties

An incident that happened to me recently makes me think that bounties need to be addressed. Out of the blue I was bountied by a player 4 times my level. His bounty was so high it would take me more than half my available coin. Through a guildmate of his I asked him why he had done it, his reply was that a guildmate of mine (even lower level than me and not even in my clan) had axe-slapped him without reason (I think the irony of this must have escaped him). Would he have bountied me so readily had I been able to retaliate, of course not.

Here is my radical proposal for retuning bounties. It would only be a small tweak in programming terms but have a big impact on the game especially for war guilds:

A player’s bounty is what they have to pay in order to bounty someone else (and a proportion of this for a bounty trap). On its own this could be open to abuse so I would propose that in addition to the bounty amount that one stamina is needed for the first bounty of the day doubling each time a bounty is placed.

Before anyone gets the smelling salts out or cries, off with his head, there are sound reasons why the World wouldn’t come to an end.

Players would always know how much a bounty was going to cost them beforehand (Gross income x 6.8)

This would tend to decrease the number of bounties high level players place on lower levels (and overall)

Even the playing field by allow lower level players to attack higher level players more easily. This would be particularly useful in guild wars as an LL player would be able to usefully attack a HL player with something else other than axe-slaps, which in turn would open them up to attack for the next 24 hours.

HLs with their greater amounts of Stamina would retain some advantage over LLs. Few LLs would be able to afford 128 stamina for their eighth bounty of the day.

I recognise that this looks like it would have a negative affect on those who built up their empires in order to raise their bounty but while it would not be the same amount of coin for everyone it would be the same proportion of coin for everyone.

I look forward to your comments :)

I've chained an entire faction just because someone punched me before. I'm a medium level slayer. I expect retaliation always.

all I can say is hahahaha and NO terrible idea, the whole idea of raising your bounty price high is part of the game strategy. if ya do not want to be bountied, then don't play in the war guild. the List price is already based on income and everyone's income is different and most likely dealt with these examples of being listed by HL . As far as knowing the hitlist price, just hitting bounty shows a hit list price . as far as guild wars, which I do not partake in I believe it says somewhere that if you are in a guild war , it opens anyone in that guild to be attacked, so it is risky to be in a guild war .

That sounds great, but what happens when you are using nearly all your stamina to hit list someone who enjoys chain listing? Now you don't have the money to list them or stamina. So you now have no way to fight back? If you increase the stamina then te energy is gonna increase just the way kano does it.
