[ZS] Group Chat Functions Added to Zombie Slayer

Hey folks,

As we march ever forward with the improvement of the pop-out World Chat, we're going to be rolling out the revamped version of the Group Chat functionality. It should be live soon, but here's how it will work when it goes up:



As you can see there is a drop-down menu in there, which will display a variety of options. The All Groups menu will show every publicly available group which people can join and leave at will. Private groups will not appear here as those are invite-only. When you create a group, you have the option of making it public or private. To invite someone to a private group you need to enter their player name. Invites to private groups will appear on the bell icon.

You can only be in five groups at a time, but there will be an indicator on the chat to let you know how many groups you're currently in. If you are the leader of a group and you want to leave, it must be deleted, no one else can take over ownership at this point.

*I know it says "Armada" in the screenshots instead of Faction but the functionality is exactly the same otherwise.

 

Id like to have the ability to delete messeges, ban people from chat, and allow people to read messeges previous to joining the room.

I want to make some link rooms and share them with friends.

Thees chats I would make would not be for chit chat, but to use to have links on hand at all times. and a bit more control would be helpful for me to be able to build/maintain/share.

I know what Im trying to does not sound like "chat' but what Im asking for is standard options for many chatrooms.

Just happens to be, your chat is the only one that opens links without a new tab and is very very conveniently placed on the screen

plus my ctrl , C and V keys could use a freeeeeekin break.

I swear If somone didnt know how to type already, the would never be able to use my laptop with all the missing paint on the Keyboard.

 

new chat has gone mad my 64 speakers disapeared and it's kicked me out of all the groups i was in...rejoined my own group and it appears im in there twice lol
Fix please?

Edit: seems this coincided with the addition of all the previous groups. (also it was only 63 speakers that went missing, I used one earlier)

still the same....it seems to of lost it's ability to count too...

says 16 members but only shows 6 (me twice) and 0 speakers (boo) other have said I'm in their group twice also

no problems with kp server 2 though

 

Well we gave you your Speakers back so there's that.

Additionally, the developer found what was causing you to be duplicated and removed that bug. "Undefined" basically just means that the players who are in your group haven't logged in to get their name propagated in the chat yet. We're changing that to "Unknown player" to make it a bit more clear.

 

Yup got the speakers back...I'm only in the groups once....lost ownership over one of the groups though. (The one in the second image )

P.S I knew about the undefined thing lol

Edit: forgot to mention....I'm not really all that fussed about the loss of 'ownership' over "The PK Room" (page 24 lol) I just wanted my speakers back I don't use them much, often to just chime in for comedic values

 

lol just noticed...I can't message in faction chat on facebook either it shows up on my screen but no one elses...then if i refresh or leave then return to the faction tab...it's gone from my screen too

 

OK, the stuff you're seeing on Faction Chat should be fixed now as well.

 

yup now....to revisit an old chat gripe...the filter lol
