I understand the reasons like spamming to limit the number of characters one can use in clan/world feed messages and why they can only post so many messages within a certain amount of time but why is it the same for guild feeds? Considering officers have the ability to both delete or remove an offending player from their guilds I dont think this restriction should be in play for guild feeds. Often times there is much that needs to be said among guild members and the limited nature of each message leaves much to be desired. A lengthy post broken into numerous messages often times is difficult to read in a busy guild feed as other posts will come between a multiple posting. In addition....An important sticky message by an officer that takes more than one posting must be read from the bottom up which is just silly. Can we please be allowed to police our own guilds and be allowed to post much larger messages...ty
EDIT... nah pointless update not really needed at all...think before posting something...no need for pimpagraphs or pimpapedias...lol
i agree with you 10 and i also think it should be increased for private messages scence you are capable of deleting the person if they spam you alot or just delete the spam messages from your inbox
Sure that would be definitely helpful, especially when you want to link some things in the guild feed, the invite codes for all members for example. 10 from me, too.
Based on the positive feedback, and hopefully ease of increasing this, how does 500 characters sound instead of the current 200?
That would be GREAT...TY! As an example...just yesterday I had a boat load of tips. pointers and listed friendlies for the arena as stickies...it took up a ton of room. This would be a vast improvement.
Of course it's a great idea. There would be no reason to not like this idea since no one has to read another's guild feed. It's no one's business but ours what goes on in our guild. Voting no on this idea without giving a good reason is just silly. WTG 99.9% of you!
Thanks for re-bumping this. Had it queued for a dev to implement but got lost with all the other priorities. Will look to get that out today.
Not much of an argument... Do you have a reason why it is "pointless" and "not really needed"? I think it's a great idea myself. I hate having to condense messages or write out 10 different ones just to get something across to another faction member. It's not really going to increase any overhead for the game either, as it's just plain text, and it will give us the freedom to write what we mean, not have to paraphrase or rewrite when we see we have run to 0 characters left. 10 from me.
I have been told that this will be pushed out on our next code push, so either today or tomorrow. With our planned improvements for chat, our hope is that Guilds will use chat for quick short msgs, like sharing boss links etc and the Guild msg board will be used for longer messages.
Maybe im missing something but why would guilds use the chat for things like sharing boss links etc? The chat doesnt filter out other players nor is it private in anyway, why wouldnt they just continue to use the guild message board? The chat doesnt even give names and many players have the generic avatar...how are we suppose to know whos sharing what?
We are revisiting the in-game chat to improve use. So World/Guild/Groups etc... we should have a revised chat released this week that will improve Guild communication (this is not the same as Kano Play chat).
