Chat is Coming to Kano Play for All Games Soon!

Hi everybody,

You may have seen this thread yesterday over in the Pirate Clan section about Chat being implemented on Servers 1 and 2 for that game on Kano Play. Well, for those Viking Clan, Zombie Slayer and Mob Wars: La Cosa Nostra players among us, I have good news: we're in the process of making the Chat box function on those games as well!

This feature is just one part of us turning Kano Play into an environment that we want our players to go to. The World Chat will still exist, this is just a separate thing we're throwing up on Kano Play for our players there. The Chat box should be live soon, so when it is go ahead and try it out and let us know what you think! This is still a Beta version of the chat, so bumps are to be expected, but if there's anything serious please let us know. Thanks!

It doesn't let many of us scroll and it doesn't automatically go down to the newest message. So after 6 or 7 messages we have to refresh to see anything new.

I am using FF if that helps.

Can't wait til it's useable!

 

the position is good , you can have the chat open and still play .

BUT , what we really needs is a facebook style IM . this would allow us to chat with individuals in our clan or a group chat which would allow us to chat within the guild . all the while without impeding play .

right now it seems to be open to everyone , nothing private and just icons . if you don't know the icon you don't know who your chatting with .

i have faith that you'll get it worked out . you've done a hell of a great job since the myspace fiasco . thanks for all your hard work .

now get on the needed improvements . lol

verry nice alot of ppl i'm 'enemies' with in the game, are ppl i like to chat to n are friends with.. saves having to chat with them on fb....

only prob i see is 2 ppl that hate eachother being in there n getting froz for there chats,lol

 

4 suggestions.

1) include names. most people still dont have their own avatars...make it difficult to know whos who

2) Limit the number of characters for each post. We just had someone copy n paste the entire WC chat to the new chat. This will be abused to the hilt. I know this is a Funny suggestion coming from me considering one of my recent threads...lol

3) limit number of posts in a certain amount of time much like game feeds. Maybe not quite as limited as the feeds though.

4) A Quick and heavy ban hammer. Lets let there be a lot of smack talk and adult humor but severely vulgar or racist remarks and spam need to be dealt with quickly.

 

Has anybody tried the chat box on mobile? On a tablet when I set it to desktop the chat box comes up, but when I click on the area to type the text in, the chat box it closes.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll get the developer working on Chat to implement a fix!
Update: We've pulled Chat from the mobile version of our games for now until we figure out a better implementation.

Another suggestion, options that allow use to use different fonts and colours...personalise it a bit.
Anyone on zs kp yesterday would've seen me typing in various colours using codes like

which has since been disallowed lol...but showed that it IS possible

Yeah the filter atm is a bit weird, I can call someone an asshole, dickhead but i cant say damn lol
(just for the record i wasn't calling anyone anything...was testing the filter)

Also certain phrases trip the "disallowed links" message, you can't use too many dots

 

I noticed that if you do too many posts too fast, it says you cannot do that. Some of us might want to post fast if its a guild chat. Right now, seems to be a world chat as others have noticed but there is a world chat already. Seems more suited to guild and clan as Gene said earlier. Even clan, might be difficult one to implement but I could "see" the tabs enabling that ... you guys are the rocket scientists and have your mock ups

 

In game chat is definitely on our hit list to improve for Guilds and Group Chat. Future possibilities for Kano Play is 1-1 and 1-many chats, so feedback on KP Chat as it exists today will be helpful to decide if it is a feature that players want to see.

 

It's bugging the hell out of me...I tried to paste a name in there that I'd just pk'd (via a link in the chat) the name had "damn" in it and ever since it's not let me type, wtf

Wait how long? it's been over 10 minutes now, tried refreshing, logging out...nothing!

of course I can see why it said that...I said the word "hit" after a word ending in an "s" but come on man...it stops you from being able to say anything for ages after, maybe asterisk it out?

 

We're still working on ironing out the peculiarities of the chat; it just went up last week so there's bound to be a few oddities. I'll see if we can't get the filter straightened out so it's functioning correctly.

 

Still can't scroll on FF. have to refresh to see new msgs.

I would also like to request a mute or block button for users. The trash talking gets annoying.

i got a concern is there anyway u can put there names on who they are in the chatbox???? which it will help us identify who is who which it would actually help out thanks....this is strongly recommended

 

Can you tell me why my world chat is not working I have 92 speakers and the past few days it will say off line or needs to be reloaded?
