Myspace Update June 10 2013

Hello again, everybody,

As you can imagine, this past week has a been a busy one for Kano/Apps, but I do have some new developments regarding Myspace and what we're doing for our players there! This isn't going to be a huge update, but there are a few things I wanted to make you aware of:

First of all, there will be an email campaign going out to players, letting you know about the fact that Myspace is shutting down game support and prompting you to create a password for the upcoming offsite portal. This is probably old news, but in case you can't find the links to the offsite in the event Myspace takes down the games earlier than we expect, you can rely on that email to give you the proper directions.

Secondly, we're aiming to have the offsite up and running later this week. You can, and should, sign up ahead of time, because this will also allow you to accept migration packages when we offer them (we should have more news on that later this week as well).

Third, we're currently testing Pirate Clan and Viking Clan for compatibility on Kongregate! I know this will be welcome news for a lot of you. There's no hard date set for that, but it is something we're looking into for this week as well. We're doing this so we can provide our players with consistent migration options for all of our titles.

So, the tl;dr version for you: an email is going out about the offsite, the offsite will be up later this week, we'll have more information on migration packages later this week, and we're testing PC and VC on Kongregate!

When we have more concrete dates on any of these developments, we'll let you know! Thanks for your patience as we continue to work on providing solutions for this difficult situation!

i had one of my fleeting thoughts again , lol . why not buy the classic myspace servers from the no goodnik owners . you can then delete everything except for kano games . you could fix the IM and message system and we all would be very happy. then when you guys build it back to where it once was , we can rub it into the myspace schmucks' noses . lmao .

ok thats cool with me but one thing i want to are our vikings going to be as they are if we all go to kong , an our pirates

 

The biggest question that most of us have is : Are we going to have to start our games all over from level 1? There are some who put soo much into the games that are saying "If we have to start over then I'll just stop playing all together".

 

what do you mean a migration package?? does this mean we will be starting over on either kong or fb? because I dont think Kano understand what a huge mistake that will be. If you have the ability to make a offsite potal to put our games as is too you should have the ability to move our games over somewhere to where we will continue to play. We have put a lot of time into our games. Over 3 years of building up these virtual players. There is no way that handing us god father points will make up for that if you are planning on making us start over you need to let us know now. I know that every single person that puts or has put major money into this game will no longer be playing if this is that you plan on doing.

 

I know the migration packages are a big deal and we're working diligently to make sure that the time and money our players have spent with our games are taken into account. As the post says, we will have more information later this week. Your patience is appreciated!

@Darkhart The offsite portal will pull everything over from Myspace. As for any future plans, please stay tuned!

You are not mentioning anything about an amalgamation with Face Book. Listen, I will not go to any other site off MS, either it is FB or I too will quit, now u got my money, give me/us service. ... I will only benefit after playing on BOTH SITES every day for 3.5 years (that's about 1,278 days/times) if I can add my MS game to my FB game. There is really little benefit other than my MS time enhancing my FB time as they were played equally.

 

I'll just say, thanks for trying to get VC and PC on Kong!! I know alot of folks will be happy for that!

 

Do appreciate all of kano's efforts..however i feel just a complete transfer would b sufficient myself...isnt kano's fault myspace is shutting down...the money has already been spent...just if there will be more spent is the question.

 

ppl need to recognize that Kano apps is a successful business, yes that right a business!... prominent business rely on happy customers/ word of mouth / & track record.

Everyone on MS has nothing to fear, reason......
Kano wants to keep us all as clientele, why do you think there putting such great effort into finding a solution....if they screw ppl over on MS, they would loose atleast 25% of the customers right off the bat... most kong/FB players would loose faith in there apps, stop spending money & most eventual quit. think about it....


Zynga's "Mafia Wars" closed down last minute on MS.. moved to FB. I had to start over from scratch, & was given all bought game credits to use there... & like 90% of the ppl i've talked to on MS mobwars, i said screw that & just quit period.......

 

Thank you mi7ch for the update. I have a question. I see you posted that VC will be tested on kong. Will the testing be open to the public? If so the ppls who are going kong, can we add the game to our kong account at that point in time, and when it is finished being tested our MySpace account be added to our account? Or should we just hold off and wait? I wouldn't want to add the game then it forfeits my myspace account. Once again this is only if VC is open to the public for testing...

 

The testing isn't public however if you do happen to play any of the other kano apps on kong, you can check your user ID and make a note of it as they all use the same one.

hi.... what about the leader board. . .alot of people cheated their asses off getting stats there.. is all that hard work ,bending rules cant be for naught . . 3 plus years of stats is of great pride to some people. they should migrate as well

 

i was teasing about cheating their asses off. . . i have an off-beat sense of humor...i have a few things im proud of though.. challenge helps. .and max bounty listed. . i dont want to level another acct again though.....

 

Have to agree with a lot of you on here , this is a business and a lot of us have put a lot of time and effort in to our accounts and a lot of MONEY .. Having to go to kong and start at a level 1 when i'm a level 2010 on ms is a pain . But the bare reality is if our accounts are not moved as is then a lot of us are quitting ...

 

You guys can quit if you want, i started playing this game nearly three years ago and kept playing because it was fun. I met my wife playing this game. We just had a beautiful daughter. Kano didnt choose this. But it seems to me they sure are trying their best to fix it. Id just like to say thanks for all you guys hard hard work and no matter how it turns out or where i end up. I fully intend to continue playing. And if I have to start over, I sured learned some stuff this time around that i will do differently next time. Kano Apps Rule!

 

Alot of ppl that play on MS, don't like FB............... problem for Kano apps is, Kong is slightly different than FB & MS, same way Hi5 was.... which is why there "testing" compatibility on Kongregate.

It's just my opinion, but the best solution to keep players happy & continuing to play is to offer a dual option

1 - complete in tack account transfer to FB (ALOT of ppl would despise this)

or

2- bought godfather point reimbursement package to players who wish to move to Kong (ALOT of MS players have already joined & begun playing from scratch)
