Hitlist question

So yesterday, I noticed that the Hitlist button (next to the City/Location button) was going off and on like a Christmas light, so I click on it, see that there's a hit in my range and go for it. It's already done, but the Hitlist button is up again, so I click it again and the hit is against the same player. Click on it again, get one hit in and the hit is done before I can hit any more. Then again, the Hitlist button is up and lo and behold it's against the same player. I figure he's being chained, and jumped in, constantly clicking the Hitlist button, going to the attack and getting in some shots, being late, or actually getting the kill.

Here's the thing. Whoever was playing the mobster being hitlisted, kept healing after every hit and was getting listed every 2 seconds (I counted) and when I checked his stats, his death count was going up like a rocket!

Now, here's the question. Was this a bot attack, and if so why heal so quickly? Was this a level partnership that I stumbled upon? Also, to heal so quickly and so many times (literally a couple of hundred times at least) would cost a lot more than even I have on hand, and I've got a lot of money.

Lastly, I went though my mobs list and can find no evidence of this hitlisting spree. Nothing from my mob doing the listing or being listed hundreds of times. This I find very odd. Any ideas or thoughts?

Healing does not really cost that much in the games. And no its not a bot program. It is more of another account players throw around and bounty the heck out of constantly while someone heals. And they all work together to grab the bounties between the group. It happens in all the games to much. But all i can say is just keep trying to get the bounties if you can. When it happens like that they go fast and faster. And most of the time the chainlisting account whoever it is will go back through and clean there feeds off to remove all the activity. A lot of work for something insignificant as another stat kill.

They communicate in chat rooms and it is like Ready? Set, GO Like Jon said just for an achievement and the one that is being listed lowered his/her bounty/htlist price so it does not cost that much most of the time. players used to do it by selling off their rule but they can't do that anymore unless they sell it over a few days or so.

It could have been as John says...it does happen like that, but rarely if ever does it happen that fast or consistently unless of course it was a bot. If it was a bot....it would have more likely have been a healing bot. Healing Bots are wide spread and used to level the person attacking them. Often times a player will forget to turn them off or fall asleep with them still on. Unlike an attack bot that usually must be directed at one person....a healing bot will heal no matter who is attacking. It is very possible that what u saw was a bot in use (happens all the time) that someone failed to turn off and someone decided to take advantage of the situation and list the heck outta them. There is well documented case on you tube of a former #1 player on MS VC healing for hours (taking losses the entire time) for his biggest rivals in the game.

How long did this go on for? What level is the account and how long has the account been around? These questions might also be clues. If not a bot it could be as John said or even an alt for a warring syndicate, is this payer a member of a war syndicate? It could have also been a couple of pals with an alt going for achievements. Regardless.....send what you know into support and let them sort it out.

Thank you all for the great answers. Considering how fast the player being attacked healed, it was more than likely a healing bot as polishpimp says. Then again, if he was just raping the heal button, then they possibly could have done it that fast.

In any event, the mobster in question has been around for 930 days, level 790+ with 670+ mobsters and does not belong to a Syndicate. This went on for about 45 minutes to an hour, that I saw. Like I said, I participated in the spree as I was getting in a few kills myself, so thought "why not", but left it to do other things, so not sure exactly how long this went on for.

Anyway, thanks again, I appreciate it. Query answered. ;-)
