This was before i came to kano games. I heard from numerous players that at one time you were able to speak to players who were not your friends but then players abused it. Not sure if this is true or not i guess for the purpose it doesn't matter. For the most part were all adults in the game and can act like adults. Give us the option to talking to the other player instead of canned messages. Because sometimes they just do not work in the situation. If a player does not like what you have to say there is this nifty little box that says block user. Click it and you will not receive messages from them. As always i will not vote for my idea. I will leave this for everyone else to decide how they rate this.

lol gave it a 10 though I have a feeling, what I would like to say to a few would have them clicking that nifty little box lol 10 stars

  3. I don't think this can of worms should be opened personally.
You know it would be abused and even if it were only abused by a few that would be a few too many.
There are minors on these games and lets face it just because someone is a minor doesn't mean that they won't take part in an inappropriate conversation.
I don't think we should open our sons and daughters up to the risk of online predators.

Midnight i can see your point on that and again i still say there is a block user on the left hand side if they do not want to see comments from players. People have the option of deciding if they want to or not. It's up to them how far they are willing to allow a person to do that to them.

I could go either way for this one so i wont vote.

It would be nice to be able to talk to someone your fighting against but i could definitely see this being abused as well.

I guess this is why Kano gave us the chat box. At least there they have some kind of filter to stop those who act like tools.

hi John , have to agree with midnight on here, yes i know there's a block button but it still doesn't stop the first message from coming through, and depending on how the first person reacts or the nature of the message , could lead to a lot more hassle.
Yes i know we are all adults but as you can see on the forums sometimes that just isn't enough and some people go to far and small problems get blown up.

I personally have received threats via FB inbox due to some people confusing a game with real life. And just the first message i saw was death threats, things about my mother or family.Ok i know that's probs just a hand full of players but this would open the floodgates for those players.
You only have to look at some of the stuff already said in the world feed to see what i mean, if this was implemented it would be a good enough reason for me to drop a game if i was inboxed all the time from players im not squad with.I dont even want a inbox at the best of times lol

  8. Sorry bud but I still disagree. Like I said in my original post there are minors (children) here and not all minors are little angles themselves.
How would you feel if you walked in to check on your 16 year old daughter and she was chatting up some 30 year old man about here wants and desires. Obviously there are plenty of other ways this could happen but as for now open messaging in our games isn't one of them and personally I like it this way.
I haven't voted, as to not drop the rating of your thread, I'm just voicing my opinion on it ;)

  9. If there are children, you should report them to support. The game is for 18+.

  10. Since when is 18 and up?
Facebooks and Myspace age restriction is 14 yrs old to the best of my memory.

  11. I imagine the service would be the game, the site where you can access the game with your Facebook account, etc.

  12. Registration and Account Security

Facebook users provide their real names and information, and we need your help to keep it that way. Here are some commitments you make to us relating to registering and maintaining the security of your account:
You will not provide any false personal information on Facebook, or create an account for anyone other than yourself without permission.
You will not create more than one personal account.
If we disable your account, you will not create another one without our permission.
You will not use your personal timeline for your own commercial gain (such as selling your status update to an advertiser).
You will not use Facebook if you are under 13.
You will not use Facebook if you are a convicted sex offender.
You will keep your contact information accurate and up-to-date.
You will not share your password (or in the case of developers, your secret key), let anyone else access your account, or do anything else that might jeopardize the security of your account.
You will not transfer your account (including any Page or application you administer) to anyone without first getting our written permission.
If you select a username or similar identifier for your account or Page, we reserve the right to remove or reclaim it if we believe it is appropriate (such as when a trademark owner complains about a username that does not closely relate to a user's actual name).

  13. Jon is speaking about the in-game inbox system. Not Facebook's mailing system.

Facebook's policies hold no relevance here.

  14. I understand what Jon is talking about however I didn't realize Kano's TOS stated players must be 18 yrs old.
Thats vary interesting and I wonder how often that policy is actually enforced.
My opinion has been expressed and I'm bowing out of this topic.

  15. Kul is correct, Facebook TOU allows accounts be created for anyone aged 13 or over, Kano/Apps TOU only allows accounts to be created for people aged 18 or over.

    taken from Kano's TOU.

It is not Kano's responsibility to watch who children are talking to, but i do believe they would be very mindful and aware that minors would play their games when releasing content.

This has been brought up many times before and has always been shot down because people are idiots.

It's that simple. We don't like to lose and when we do some of us can't handle it and have to start being abusive to others.

It's a shame because there are times when sending a simple message to someone explaining whatever, would settle things and players could move on.

  17. My personal opinion is to go ahead and give us the option anyway.

If someone is abusive, you can always report them or block them.

With the current system, abusive players can still harass you. For some brilliant reason, the numbers in your gaming profile's link is the same as the profile link for your Facebook page.

Players can send messages harassing you via the FB message system, and there are those who would go to such extremes.

I know that the idea won't be widely accepted though, so I hold out no hope for it. The only alternative is to suggest some new messages that can be incorporated into the preset message system.

Think of messages that apply to the specific situations that you want to address and suggest it to KANO/Ideas forum.

Was gonna respond last night along the same lines, this is a game for adults, there are plenty if games for kids online, all the ville games for example there are also other pirate games that are more geared to a younger crowd and yes FB has TOS not that many adhere to them just like Kano's TOS, so children should not be here , neither should a number of teenagers who play PC and cause alot of problems because of the immaturity. I see and hear both sides of this discussion , but being children are not supposed to be playing ............. I still give it a 10 :)

Thank you for everyone's responses. I do appreciate the feedback and i can see on many reasons why this is still one that players do not want to touch again. But Kul was correct about you having to be 18years old to play the kano apps. This is one reason why i have asked about this because i know kids play this game that is a given. But technically since kano wrote into there terms of service you have to be 18 years old that falls back on the parents in the household for not watching there own kids. And that is my opinion to many parents now days have no control over there own flesh and blood and use every single excuse in the book to blame someone else then there own selves. Like i said i know this was probably going to go down in ratings quickly But simpliest solution is the one's who want this should be allowed to have it. If you do not want it simply checkmark a box leaving it on canned messages only. And i know kano can do that if they choose to since we can go into arena and checkmark boxes to reveal ourselves or keep our self as someone different.
