***BETA*** Facebook Connect Games (fb.kanogames.com)

We quickly cracked out Facebook Connect access to all Kano Games as a proof of concept and to collect feedback from players if this is something that they would like to see.

Running offsite has some advantages:

• we no longer depend on Facebook code to resize the page, so if there is a half page bug in any platform we can debug and fix
• it is the same game but Facebook applies different rules on what apps are allowed to do with Connect versions as opposed to Canvas, for example Facebook Credits are mandatory on Facebook Canvas Games but are not mandatory for Facebook Connect
• for those that want to play without any distractions (advertisements, msgs, etc)

Yeah this one looks a lot better, I like the presentation with the dark background... and it might just be my PC but I'm almost sure that the loading is faster on the new one

Can't the new game interface bookmark itself on our Facebook walls? or can I do that manually? It's kind of a drag to always have to go look for the link first, I think a faster way to get to the new one could benefit... I'm already just on the new one, so far everything is great, no bugs.. Yet..

 

whenever i go to that site, all i get is a flashing screen.. starts with the normal picture of a hydra and a cursed captain, but then starts flashing between that and plain white screen.

 

[STRIKETHROUGH]Does this mean the required clicks to send gifts and boosts can be reduced as well? Or is that FB request feature crap totally mandatory...[/STRIKETHROUGH] (tried it and it seems theres no getting away from the repetetive confirmation to send people gifts. It is good in that it stops us being spammed or something, but it gets tiresome after a while. Especially when playing VC-PC-LCN where the gifts actually matter) No disrespect to the gifts in ZS, they are incredibly useful for the first couple hundred levels but once you start getting the decent challenge rewards and boss gear/vehicles they're just lolz.

Either way I gave it a little whirl the other day when it was linked for people having issues with FB credits, and it is much, much better. The central orientation is so much better than it is on FB being stuck on the left, with annoying ads that get clicked sometimes when in a hunting frenzy and accidentally overshooting.

To combat that i was playing fully zoomed in, is it just me or does playing with the larger pictures making up the games slow anyone else down a tad. Not that much just a bit...

I'm also liking the dark themed background, it is a zombie apocalypse afterall it should be dark and stuff.


I also like how it tells me to contact support with any issues or feedback, on a first name basis
It's almost like ZS is my friend LOL


To those having difficulties, have you tried all the usual stuff? Clearing cache / Temp Internet Files / Trying a different browser

Drag the tab containing the game to the bookmark bar of your browser.. Do you really play without bookmarks?

Also i believe the link to it is in the bottom right of the game pane? Next to the Twitter link?

I hope this is just a temporary set back and shall keep trying to get it back on, but double posting (apologies) to bump and bring this to the attention of those that could hopefully look into it.

Kano I've noticed that there is a loss of info somewhere... when friends add me while I'm playing VC on the kano link, their names show in my add chiefs tab, but I can't add them, I get a message "DEFEAT Must be friends with this user before you can invite as a Chieftain." But his name is there and He is one of my friends... I have checked to see if it's just a delay, but after 2hours of playing I still get the same message, the only fix is to go back to facebook and then back to VC again...

 

kano just wondering is the only reason u did this is so we can still use superreward and trail play? b/c if so thanks i personaly like useing superreward for free uns and if i can get some one to let me use there cc i like useing trail play to pay. so thanks for that but im really wondering if there is a way that fb hi5 and myspace players could play together if they chooes. i ask b/c i remenber myspace players talking bout myspace going under not sure if it will or wont ever happen but i think it would be cool and fun to be able to play with and against the other players who play this game from other networks.anywasy thanks for the new bosses

And then what about people that play on multiple platforms? That would just be like having alts in the same game.

I like my Hi5 char, but i could never choose that over CAFFEINE... I want to get it as high as caffeine and hurtle through the levels at a snails pace becoming something like the Berlin wall.

Would be fun to kill myself again though, that stupid POACH won't punch me back

 

Ahad it almost sounds like your whining... No don't merge the games it will get harder I won't be able to get up there so easy.... and so forth....
If Kano did that (which I doubt they will) It would make the fighting list a LOT Bigger making it almost easier but also more competitive.

Lol I'd say it would be a good Idea more people to own... But If you want to know why kano won't do that, there is a thread where KFSC discussed it, spoke about the wars that would break out between the factions of the three networks and the alt accts aswell as all the admin involved... If you want I can go find it and post a link

 

No whining at all, just almost certain that i would be penalized for playing multiple networks and unable to continue playing my less powerful characters that i intent to make more powerful in time. If Kano would actually do this, but i'm not sure it would even be possible.

How would we PK slayers on Myspace, from Facebook?
Put a Myspace link in a Facebook chat?

That would make us deliver a punch from a level 1 on Myspace if we hadn't already started there, or from a lowbie if we had. I just can't get my head around how it would be possible to combine multiple networks when i believe each one is seperate and self-contained.

Ignoring the fact that Myspace is apparently on it's last legs.

However it would be fun to fight with a certain someone as i'm pretty damn sure they would have a hard time adding me to their kill count, but i could quite easily add them to mine.

I ENJOY the challenge! If i was scared of a challenge i wouldn't have set out to get the many pog-a-logs on my back to be killing me and slowing me down since lvl 280 or so, from my dearly departed POACH ma NHOAMOAR.

If i wanted to "get up there quickly" i would have 1000+ energy, people up there can't kill anyone their own level they have to pick on the lower levels that possess the testicular mass to go for them on the hitlist.
I much prefer to be in the middle of the pack surrounded by teddy bears just waiting for their heads to be pulled off.

Oh, AND LOSING BUT A FRACTION OF THE XP THOSE HIGH LEVELS LOSE UPON THE RETRIBUTION DEATHS!
I just can't emphasize that enough.

 

so thanks for that but im really wondering if there is a way that fb hi5 and myspace players could play together if they chooes. no offense but i wrote if they chooses it could be a platform that u didnt have to play from if u didnt want to it would be i choose kinda of thing.............i want know people to kill and take from the list and so forth anyways i think it could be fun.

I really like the new way of connecting ever since FB chat got changed a couple days ago. Great job and it´s working fine so far!
