What with Kano demonstrating their loyalty to long-standing players by promoting Mafia Wars refugees way above their heads (with the cost of 1000 hired mob, nevermind the items for them to carry, I simply do not believe there are that many millionaires who have nothing better to do with their time) and the rise and rise of the "super bosses", making most other elements of the game redundant, there seems little point in anyone who isn't able to spend 24/7 at their computer, picking off the new bosses (and hitting Raids, etc) continuing to take part in LCN.
Apart from becoming friends with the people in the various chats we've set up, the game itself has become a bit of a chore.
Crafting used to be an important element of the game but most Workshop items being opened are of no longer any use at all. One or two "Optimal" items might be useful to me right now but are locked for another 300 levels. We used to rely on crafting quite a bit in the early days but the people following behind me now can do better by getting 100% on a couple of bosses every day...
It seems that in attempting to stop the top levels from getting bored (which is understandable), things have been made too easy for the lower levels (and an absolute gift for the MW refugees) - Either way it's not much fun for those of us who are stuck in the middle :)
Clearly the top levels need better rewards to encourage them to soldier on - there's no point in them doing stuff to collect items of less value than what they have now - but the bosses have simply allowed that situation to percolate down. The only thing that is of any use to people now are those bosses. I know a guy who isn't level 3000 yet but any boss under Return to Paris is already useless to him and he's only about 4 items away from that being redundant.
Levelling up used to be a fairly gradual process but the Raids have taken care of that, which isn't necessarily a good thing - it just makes the job items even less relevant - people can get through a city without completing the jobs because they level up so much on Raids now.
Yes, I know people like them and they are fun - but it's taking away other elements of the game. Reaching a new City used to be exciting and give players a sense of achievement and the chance of better items but now it's just another whole load of jobs that will give you rewards you can't use.. The game is n danger of turning into a case of "see boss, hit boss, look for new boss" bore. To be honest, I feel it already has...

  2. I kind of agree with most points you've raised. I'm quite concerned that the game is slowly dying anyway, the Devs only seem to make minor tweaks, normally around elements that would create more revenue for them (I get it it's a business).

I don't agree that it's easy to level, the Raids help a bit more with enabling you to level, but realistically if you can find a well-balanced player you can level with, you can easily get the same amount of XP in fights without the need for wasting energy. To really get anywhere in this game you spend money, and maybe I can buy a few hundred Gf's every month, but other people can't, then that is the risk you take when you play a 'free game'.

Another disappointing factor in this game is that the skill points you invest in your attack and defence, are pretty much redundant because you can just join boss after boss, and build up your items, you always have to be scurrying around trying to find bosses of value to get anywhere, and this has removed a lot of the interaction between players. I have invested heavily in my attack and defense, which is now pointless, I would rather halve these and have an extra couple of thousand stamina and energy to level a bit quicker, now there's a thought. Now there are unwritten rules about how many times you can attack someone before it's classed as abuse, then you get a whole syndicate coming after you.

No one is willing to spend the time to help lower level players build up their characters, and I've played this game since Day 1. I'm not Anti-Kano, but I think some more interaction in the game would not hurt, some more feature updates for all levels, to breathe a bit of fresh air into the game. I'm only level 2500 summit so I'm no big wig, but just my two pennies :)

Actually with players being able to spend such high amounts and becoming a high level in 6 months compared to 6 years, I still play out of habit, in what is becoming a bad habit, I need to do something else with my time, until that happens, I play but without really any passion or goal. I have spent over the years but not many can compete with people that can spend what I have spent in 6 years , who can spend that in 3 to 6 months, I imagine the only ones who benefit are the owners of the game, :)

All good points. All have been made before. Sigh.

I take your point about levelling partners but that was a personal strategy.. I'm not convinced Kano ever imagined the game being played that way, it was something players worked out for themselves and you could choose to use it or not. That kind of added to the fun of it. Like exploiting a loophole the "boss" didn't close :)

I happen to be one of those Mafia Wars refugees. (mob wars also btw) And I so far have NOT seen special treatment. I think it might have something to do with not having a credit card. I do see your point about the bosses and unfortunately the only real fix for that would require major recoding. You would have to tie the strength of the boss drops to a percentage of how close you are to gaining access to the city the boss is tied to. Say I am a level 3800 and I get a drop from an antarctica boss. Since I am only 50% there, the drops are at 50% strength. This would be FAIR but imagine the programming. LOL Each drop item would have to be encoded with the attack/defense times your level over max level not exceeding 1. Any coding ideas people?

I get kind of bored with the game. For context I'm level 5355 after 2105 days. Levelling is tedious... takes forever to get through all the jobs for a city and none of them make me stronger, only boss drops way above my level are useful. Still, I lose most of my fights for DGP. I've been leading a syndicate for several years; the only engaging part of the game is helping the new recruits get stronger faster. Otherwise I just bang buttons trying to get levels thinking maybe I'll persist through the boring part and things will get better.

I think it's total crap that someone can play for 6 months, get max mobsters, and surpass my level after I've been playing for OVER 6 YEARS. What does that tell you? And don't even get me started on royalty items, I STILL haven't gotten top tier yet. I guess I'm not loyal enough.

Here we go again.. Of course there are not bots or scripts active in LCN.. Oh no, dear, no.
So I attack a guy 4 times for dailies. Later he punches me so I get another couple of attacks in for dailies - winning every time.
Right away he attacks and I lose, fair enough but when I try to counter I'm suddenly losing and the stats show I'm 22% weaker than he is.. In no time flat!
No boosts were involved on either side - I checked.
Is there any wonder people are quitting?

that has to be the lamest way to play, then they allowed it with a 5k limit , and no Kano did not have any idea what real gamers can come up with, then Kano made raids, and that was the final nail , now they want to balance the games, I am starting to think, Kano may have game ideas in their heads, but have not played PVP games, otherwise they would have known those two 'features' would hurt the game, and throw it out of balance, now it is too late, ya cannot put the genie back in the bottle.

I gotta disagree with you about the raids not being that easy to level. I just leveled almost 700 levels thru the raids without spending too much money on fb points.

but I do agree with all of you this game has just become a spending game and you talk about a free game. what's so free about it, sure you get to play for a little while free, but then you get to the point of having to spend to get anywhere or be able to beat anyone except very low levels. but sooner or later, you will spend money or there wont be anything for you to do in the game that's worth while.

when mafia war players first came into the game, they were offer great advantages to get their mob maxed out, gear that was not offered to older players and several ways to advance that the other players also did not get offered too, but then of course, not all mafia war players saw or took advantage of those offers, just the ones whos pent a lot of money took the most advantage of it.

The earliest refugees exploited a loophole whereby they could claim the "goodies" Kano provided them with time after time - Kano says it fixed that but many of us don't believe it. They used to be very easy to identify because they all joined the game within 48 hours or so and suddenly they were level 3000 from nowhere, with 2000 mob and armed to the teeth. I've no idea how much that might cost, my calculator only goes up to 999999999 :)

We also found and reported sites which they had used in Mafia Wars to get scripts and bots who even bragged they were now working on scripts for LCN. Posted these to Kano and the reply we got was "Yeh, we've had a word and they've told us they won't use them".. So that's alright then.. Didn't seem to occur to Kano that maybe why Mafia Wars went titsup in the first place, too many people spending a little a month on scripts, nothing on Mafia Wars toys.

When we were building there wasn't much beyond Venice, so workshop was an important element to a beginner, meaning you had to do lower bosses to get the drops to use in workshop. Now people just sit there waiting for the Wardens, etc. Now they're even getting more protection from this new hitlist rule.

The game has gone downhill - I'm another one who is just turning up to help the new guys and clicking out of habit but getting increasingly bored with it.

Something needs to be done. Soon

Personally, my enjoyment isn't the game itself, it is learning the features to teach others and also the interaction with family members. Killing me 20 times a day isn't as frustrating as looking at the few holes in my sheet and can't get the info. Unless of course you are this one guy I HELPED when he started and he bought his way big to keep attacking me. :(

    Warning: Unusual account activity detected

You wonder why, Kano, is it that players are resorting to public calling out of both players & syndicates; but maybe as questioned above do you actually invest any time into playing this game, NO is the answer, because if you actually did then you would be aware of the CHEATERS out there that abuse your very own TOS that you turn a blind eye too those that invest money into your game and when they have levelled up to fast or even to high they resort to creating newer accounts or buying them or being gifted them, I have personanly been gifted several accounts on Kong LCN but chose to not use them, and when the shared account or alternate account is of no use anymore it is discarded! I'm personanly aware of palyers whom use Bots/Scripts to do bounty hunting or use another account eg a son or daughters acc or even a partners account or even the leader shares the officers accounts...game playing style differs from player to player but when they log into another account they cannot but help themselves by resorting to playing their way...ooops I did it again springs to mind.

There are consistant prooven cheaters out there whom have been reported over and over again by many people but if they spend money on the game you turn a blind eye just as long as your pay check gets paid out to you every month!

When last did you, Kano, even ban an alternate/shared account? I'm guessing it must be 4+ years ago. When last did you do a Mob name check or even a syndicate name check? My guess is never as you solely rely on people to report a mob or even syndicate name when they deem themselves injured by said name!

I for one refuse point blank to follow your TOS when it comes to the various chat rooms simply because what is good for the goose is not good for the gander in your case, you can ban me from said chat rooms for ever but there are many ways to skin a cat!

This game is dying a slow and painful death & we the players are laughing at your feeble blustering attempts to bamboozle us with stupid initiatives when the cheaters take advantage time and time again and you sit there with your hands upon your paychecks every month doing nothing but pointing a certain finger up in the air at

Non Autohealer/Bot or script/Account Sharer and non Alternate account user!

A quick question.. When was the last time anyone reached a new city and was able to find anything that was any use to them? Never mind the workshop, even boss and job drops are totally useless. Without checking I'd guess I'm at least 3 or 4 cities away from anything that might make it into my fight strength. By the time I get there I'll probably be 5 or 6 levels away, and so on..

Cannot ask for help in any of the games..mob wars, zombie slayer, pirate or viking... when i request help with jobs or challenges it keeps saying "url not found" or not reconized. Does anyone else have this issue? What is KANO going to do about it?
