Facebook Gift Sending Improvements

Hey all,

In an effort to help alleviate some of the issues players have been experiencing with sending Gifts on Facebook we’ll be making some back-end changes to the game today.

Disclaimer: This only effects Gifts being sent to Facebook friends which did not go through, the "Do Not Ask Again" pop-up for non-Facebook friends was not addressed with this change.

Because there are some troubles with replicating these Gifting problems with 100% certainty on our end we need to crowdsource the results of this a little.

We just released an update to the games that will make some changes to the Gifting process in the code. If you’ve been consistently having issues sending Gifts to specific players that you are friends with on Facebook, I’d like for you to please do the following:

• Refresh the game to make sure the changes are picked up by your browser.
• Try sending a Gift (it is especially helpful if you try to send it to someone you’ve had trouble gifting in the past).
• Did you get a Facebook error message? Please either screenshot or copy the text of the message and paste it here in this thread.
• What was the in-game message? Did the Gift send successfully? If not please screenshot or copy the text of the message our game is displaying and paste that here in this thread.

Hopefully our initial change should allow you to send gifts to Facebook friends you previously couldn'y, but if it does not sending us the error messages you see will help us narrow down this issue and get it worked out.

I'm still having problems....click on the send button and as often as not nothing happens....other times a brief flash of white then nothing.

 

Is this happening when you are sending gifts to other players who are also Facebook friends?

 

Mi7ch i have been having that problem for months. But i think i figured out what it is. I think when players play on the kano platform. And not go through facebook to access the game this happens sending gifts to players. It seems the ones who play on the kano platform when i try to gift through playing on facebook it pops a box and flashes so i am not sure if their getting their gifts or not.

Side note still waiting on Kano to an accept all and send all improvement still i know you guys said its in the pipeline to come. But it would make things easier still for everyone.

 

If someone lost their FB account and are a shadow,yes there is always a flash, I think if I go to kanoplay then I can actually send them a gift,I don't get the flash,but not sure if they are getting the gift, anyone I am not FB friends with ,which is a small number ,I get the white box that I have to click.

 

I still get the pop-up FB box. Gift goes though. I'll stick to doing my gifts on Kanoplay.

I think you are correct. This is the same problem and pattern that I've had.

 

Hey Mich I'm having problems with posts can't post on wall in syndicate faction Armada or guild and also when I click on assist with job or challenges it goes black it's all started happening after updates can you advise what I can do to fix I play through kanoplay on my android phone

 

Okay cleared through my gifts, still having issues. The same result happens - no Facebook error message, no Kano error message, and no flashes. I get through the first half of my oldest gift sends fine, then nothing happens after that with most recent 40-50 requests, button does not respond. Yes, I tried every person left on the list. Some of those are using Facebook, some are using Kano - and I know for a fact that at least most of them are not mini-accounts, so cheating has nothing to do with it. But I noticed that whatever change Kano did make, the Facebook box is much slower to pop up now for the gifts that do send, so looks like the change was counter-productive on my end. The Facebook lag is bad now, no fun to keep playing if it stays that way. Thanks for finally addressing the issue, though - its been happening off and on for several months now.

 

For me the FB pop up seems larger now..

 

still get this even on clan had for years, still got to tick box every day so no differance still rubbish and time wasting

I play on the kano server np i get my gifts and i can send it back. Even i notice that the get the gift because i can not send more than just 1 item.

 

I know for a fact this is true. Gifts do NOT go to people that for one reason or another no longer have FB accts. You MUST go to kanoplay to send their gifts. It's annoying as hell.

 

Please submit a ticket to Support if you haven't already, it doesn't sound like this is related to the gifting change and might be indicative of another issue.

As stated above, this change did not address the "Do Not Ask Again" dialogue box for non-Facebook friends.

Well that would be Facebook's deal, we don't control the size of their pop-ups.
