From now until Sunday, September 20th, submit your item concepts to this thread by commenting below. The Kano Creative Team will pick their favourite based on how well it meets the submission criteria, as well as how fun and interesting it would be to make.

The winner will see their entry added into the game as a powerful Limited Quantity item, get a free one for their inventory, and receive a package of 50 Favor Points!

Submission criteria are below. Please read them carefully! Entries that follow the criteria carefully will have a much better shot at winning. Entries that ignore the criteria will be disqualified and might be removed from the thread.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA

Your submission MUST include:

• A name for your item that is under 25 characters long.
• The type of item (Weapon, Warrior)
• A description of the item’s appearance that is under 500 characters long. You can check the length here.

This is a visual design contest! What we’re looking for is the kind of information we would give to our illustrators to help them understand what the item is supposed to look like.

Creative names are great, but the most important part of your submission is the description. Item creation is a technical as well as a creative process. Give the artist clear and detailed information about the item’s appearance.

Remember, you have limited space and the illustrator is first and foremost concerned with key visual elements. Think about how you can best specify the shapes, colors, and textures of the image you have in mind.

EXAMPLE SUBMISSION

Name: Ratfolk Scout

Type: Warrior

Description: A large scraggly rat with vaguely humanoid proportions. Grey-brown fur and naked ears, tail, and paws. Black beady eyes. It stands on its hind legs and wields a long crude shiv in each paw. It’s hunched over, and snarling savagely at the viewer, baring long yellow incisors and tiny jagged molars. Dressed in a shabby brown cloak and patchwork leather armor.

Stick to one single item submission per post, please! You can post more than once if you wish, but please don’t spam the thread or your entries may be removed.

In the past, we’ve allowed participants to include images with their entries. Not this time! We’re looking for interesting concepts straight from your own imagination, so you’re going to have to do this one without visual aids. Entries that include pictures will be disqualified and will be removed from the thread.

Keep the game’s theme in mind! While we do make some exceptions, don’t be surprised if submissions of Quantum Laser Cannons don’t gain a lot of traction with our illustrators when they’re looking to make gear for a fantasy Viking realm.

 

Sweet means something like these little monsters or it is related to culinary?

 

It's a colloquialism, basically it means "awesome".

 

Ok so this may include everything When I see the word sweet I am not sure what is means (cute,sweet things culinary)-"awesome" is better

Type: Weapon

Description: overflowing from purple to blue colors anglerfish, with enormous glowing yellow eyes, fleshy growth from the fish's head acts as a lure in neon light blue color,the fish has huge sharp white teeth located on the greatest depth of the ocean necessarily dark background and dark underwater reefs

Description: A compass with identical maidens on the inside border; one on 1/2 the compass circle, the other on the border compass border with feet touching so that if it were folded in half it would mirror and overlap

Description:her left hand, upon which she measures the strengths of a case's support and opposition.She is also often seen carrying a double-edged sword in her right hand, symbolizing the power of Reason and Justice, which may be wielded either for or against any party.Lady Justice has often been depicted wearing a blindfold.In her left hand, Lady Justice holds balance scales, which represent the weighing of evidence. When taken with the blindfold, the symbolism is that evidence must be weighed on its own merit.In her right hand, Lady Justice is seen to have a sword that faces downwards. This sword represents punishment. This sword is held below the scales to show that evidence and court is always held before punishment.Standing on top of a sea cliff where the waves break.Background is clouds and setting sun.

 

Name: Tribal Python Berserker
Type: Warrior
Description: A battler with python tattoos covering her skin. She wields both a battleaxe and a broadsword and battles in berserker fashion. She is such a fierce battler that she shuns any type of significant armor save bracers and a helm. It is believed that she wears magical items that enhance her fierceness in battle and make up for her seeming lack of obvious defense.

 

Name: Bloody Longstroke
Type: Weapon
Description: A mystical sword of unknown origin, although it is believed to have been created for Freyja herself. The most striking elements of the weapon are the color of the blade, which is ruby-colored, (although it is not known how this effect was achieved), and the unusual hilt design. Legend has it that it increases both attack speed and damage dealt for the wielder.

Description:In one hand he holds a sword,and in the other hand burning pumpkin head.The black horse with red eyes is standing on its hind legs .The background is dark,frightful ,misty forest and full moon.

 

Name: apocalypse riders
Type: Warrior
Description:
White horse:
The horseman on the white horse was clad in a showy and barbarous attire. While his horse continued galloping, he was bending his bow in order to spread pestilence abroad. At his back swung the brass quiver filled with poisoned arrows, containing the germs of all diseases
Red horse:
The rider of the second horse is often taken to represent War. He is often pictured holding a sword upwards as though ready for battle or mass slaughter. His horse's color is red and in some translations, the color is specifically a "fiery" red. The color red, as well as the rider's possession of a great sword, suggests blood that is to be spilled.The sword held upward by the second horseman may represent war or a declaration of war, as seen in heraldry. In military symbolism swords held upward, especially crossed swords held upward, signify war and entering into battle.
Black horse:
The third horseman rides a black horse and is popularly understood to be Famine as the horseman carries a pair of balances or weighing scales, indicating the way that bread would have been weighed during a famine
Pale horse:
The fourth and final horseman is named Death. Known as "the pale rider",of all the riders, he is the only one to whom the text itself explicitly gives a name. Unlike the other three, he is not described carrying a weapon or other object, instead he is followed by Hades (the resting place of the dead).However, illustrations commonly depict him carrying a scythe (like the Grim Reaper), sword, or other implement.

Name: Special Viking Sword
Type: Weapon

What really made the Special Viking Sword so distinctively recognizable from its contemporaries was its heavy 5 lobed pommel used to balance the long blade.

Our Special Viking Sword has features in common with its historical counterpart. It has a double edged blade, hand forged out of high carbon steel and then polished to a brilliant lustre. The wooden handle is covered in leather and is supported by a simple, elegant guard at one end and an equally handsome 5 lobed pommel at the other.

Name: Blinde Forsvar
Type: Warrior
Description: These towering warriors ripple with muscles & wear neither armor nor carry weapon. Their hair is long, scraggly, & unclean. Their skin stained with the blood of their enemies. Scarred & bruised from countless attacks upon them from blade to bludgeoning. They are the Blind Defense & they are so by choice. The day they become true warriors they are blinded & have their eyelids sewn shut. Fear is of the enemy for when one finds themselves in the death grip of the Blinde Forsvar it is the face of that enemy who cannot see them that they will see long after they've entered Valhalla.

 

Name : Legendary Viking King Type : Warrior Description : Elder Viking sitting on a large wooden throne with detailed cravings , the throne has deer fur underneath it and a bear fur hanging over the back of the throne . The King is sitting proudly he wears a thin gold band for a crown, he is aged but fit and muscular with maybe a war wound or two on his arms , wrist gauntlets , long blonde hair braided in normal Viking fashion . His beard blondish white long flowing over his chest , brown leather pants , black boots with silver platting wrapped around each leg . The kings large mighty axe lays against the throne , his long sword hangs off the back of the throne and his helmet sits on a small table next to him ....
