I'll let my good friend Admiral Ackbar field this one... The key part of that is "100000% counter attack boost", which is a complicated way of saying they used an ambush on you. So to answer the question, the player isn't cheating, and you can do the same thing by setting an ambush on them Update: It looks like Jades stole my thunder on this one, although thanks for helping out a fellow community member Jades!
