Aardvark

The aardvark (Orycteropus afer) is a medium-sized, burrowing, nocturnal mammal native to Africa. It is the only living species of the order Tubulidentata, although other prehistoric species are known. The aardvark is not closely related to the anteater, despite sharing some superficial characteristics. Instead, its closest living relatives are the elephant shrew, tenrec, and golden mole.
