wondering if you would be able to add 2 more filters to the new loadout system. one to empty your loadout and one for best balanced loadout.

Thanks for the suggestion Demonik1. I know we had kicked around the idea of having a few more filters so I'll let the developers know that there's interest for that!

Not sure how best balanced filter would quite work, some the #'s sway big time even though close to either attack or def. If #'s added together/2 it's not a balanced loadout as far as I can see my side with inventory I own. I'll give a 10 though LOL (I'm assuming filter not a D and E save feature)

Way I set up mine is 1 attack, 1 defense, 1 no loadout to accomplish this.

I too am juggling this around in my head so I will paint a scenario and please give me your feedback. Also, just to confirm, is this an idea for Autofill or for Sorting your items? An Empty Sort doesn't make sense but I am not sure a Balanced Autofill does either.

    Items
    Item A: 8 Att, 7 Def - Combined = 15, Difference = 1
    Item B: 1 Att, 1 Def - Combined = 2, Difference = 0
    Item C: 23 Att, 17 Def - Comined = 40, Difference = 6
    Item D: 5 Att, 5 Def - Combined = 10, Difference = 0

    Balanced Sort
If I am going to sort these based on "best balanced" item I would likely look to sort on the Difference with Combined stats as a tie breaker. Given the items above this would shake out to:

    Item D: 5 Att, 5 Def
    Item B: 1 Att, 1 Def
    Item A: 8 Att, 7 Def
    Item C: 23 Att, 17 Def

Given the scenario above I am not sure an Autofill is what players are looking for as you are likely a lot better off with Item C which is the most unbalanced. Or even Item A if you are looking for closer parity of Att/Def.

I dont get the "balanced" loadout thing....isnt the "strongest overall" basically that? We also have the ability to create and save our own loadouts......doesnt that give us the ability to save a loudout balanced however we want already?

Was just messing around with it, pretty much "balanced" is same as "strongest overall" as Pimp stated. (attack+defense/2) As to the "no loadout" some might use all 3 preset filters already attack/defense/overall, and might sometimes want "no loadout" making it quicker to toggle since only have 3 saved spots. (A,B,C)

quite a few people empty their loadout to level or for some other reasons...strategy etc...and i like a balanced loadout in the arenas sometimes and there are some that prefer a balanced loadout......when you click strongest overall it doesnt load balanced items except for my warrior...im thinking the strongest over all would be the highest total attack + defensive numbers? anyways, i hope that cleared things up a bit on what im asking....and to answer which items would be put in if you didnt have exact same numbers for any given slot then the closest difference would be put in...well a combination of the highest numbers with the closest difference.

it might just be easier to add another custom slot or 2....even one and an empty loadout filter in the autofill would work

Thanks for the feedback so far.

@polish: I am in complete agreement re balanced Autofill. So perhaps a better question might be, would a Balanced sorting filter achieve what was initially proposed by Demonik1?

@jades: I hear ya re: disarming each item. I am all in favour of making a "Remove All" Autofill option.

I am not following how Overall is not working for you right now. As you said Overall sums each items Attack and Defense and sorts on that highest to lowest.

I don't think that would immediately be clear to most people as to what "Balanced" Autofill means but I do understand what you are saying. See my example above which would be a sort on Difference and then Combined. If it were the other way around as you suggest, Combined and then Difference, it would prioritize Item C which would likely be the same as Strongest Overall in most scenarios.

I like Smacks idea of a a "clear all" option . I also like Demoniks idea of just adding 1 or 2 more custom loadout slots....let players make up what ever combos they want and avoid all the confusion a bunch of other options might present.

Actually, I just noticed something when hit autofill> sort: strongest overall, the filter of sort by:toggles automatically to attack. As can see in this picture it is not my strongest overall, unless I'm missing something. LOL

Autofill does not sort your list of items, it Auto Fills your loadout. "Sort By" will sort your item list and from the screenshot that is set to Attack. Currently there are only 2 Sort options, Attack and Defense.

strongest overall puts in 1 attack based weapon, 2 defensive based ones and a balanced warrior...im looking for a balanced loadout but i think an extra slot or 2 would be easier to define.....number-wise its giving me a defensive based total loadout when i want as close to an even one as i can get

I think I see what Demonik is saying. I haven't voted, and I'm happy with the loadouts the way that they work now. Maybe instead of modifying the loadouts, a "balanced" sort option can be added to attack and defense. It would start with the highest evenly matched items, then go through unmatched items. Example: att 230 def 230, att 220 def 230, att 230 def 220, on down the list.

see? jared gets it haha the only problem i see is that if theres a defensive weapon and an attack weapon with the same numbers reversed and those are the highest balanced...which way would it go? i think it would be alot easier for the devs to just add a couple more slots...maybe even more...better to have them and not need em i always say....and it would be an easy update

It's probably not going to be exact. To try to make things easier, I would say that attack would take precedence over defense. Let's say you can only use 2 items in the example that I provided. The "balanced" option would put items 1 and 3 in my loadout, but I don't see that as a big deal. There's only a 10 point difference between items 2 and 3, and it would make the "balanced" option closer to being balanced than the current "strongest overall" option.

i would want the attack item myself but there are plenty of peeps that would want the defensive one...too many diffrences of opinion to please everyone so i figured an extra custom slot or more would be the easier fix
