[VC] A thought about arena

when the arena first started the average number of participants was around 320-360....its now down to around 240. a pretty huge drop and how many of those are active longer than the 100 attack min? maybe 100 and thats being very generous. the participants and participation has been declining in every arena. its obvious that not many like it the way it is.

 

everyone also needs to remember that several did not come over after MS dropped the games so that has to do with arena participation being down also.

 

very true but the numbers were still higher than they are now...they have slowly dropped in succession. a trend that has followed from myspace. i dont know why they dont just alternate the arenas, have one the way lucifer described it and then the next the way it is now. then we wouldnt have to assume which people would like better and all this debate would end with fact

 

The way the arena is set up now is kinda like when businesses advertise something really fantastic they have that everyone can get & all you got to do is come on down & get it - then when you get there? you find out they lied, only had a few of them to get you there......some fall for it but then they catch on & never go back, numbers keep falling in arena.......

Vikings complain about inactivity in arena & D mode - - - - well with so few playing in it & the way its set up now where you can search n pull up people to see if their attacking & swarm in with all your friends? no wonder people try & stay in D mode as long as they can......more would be active if they could get some attacks in b4 someone seen them doing so by the attacks showing on their profile..

The nick name thing is a joke, most of us know who is who in there, how you might ask? simple, with so few playing its easy 2 tell by looking at health or how many attacks they have or dont have, plus we have friends & know who they are in there & who not to attack, get rid of the names & everyone becomes a target, no more high lvl's tag teaming or guilds working together to take all the top spots, unlike most I could care less where I finish in the arena, I just want more players playing the game - it would be nice if a lower lvl won it or placed well without it being gave to them by the watch dogs that they work in under lol............

I know people spend money on the game & think they deserve the spots they get, I disagree with this, with numbers going down? whats better? a few that spend a few hundred on a game or 1000's that spend 10-20 bucks a month, do the math - in the end if we get more players playing? we all win in the long run...............

That's not right. And I'm speaking for the facebook PC Arena. Sorry to hear that its also happening in the other Arenas with the bands of players in communication with each other and knocking off all threats so they can occupy the top spots. What is the challenge in that? Speaking from experience, I always play on my own and I have gotten swarmed on by a group of people more than a few times after wracking up a lot of kills early. I think the first Arena was the only true one where everyone was pretty much on their own. If there was communication it wasn't perfected yet. That's what we need to get back too. Now people are just going through the motions. If everyone knew that they had a real shot you would see the numbers increase.

 

Better yet since some of the big dogs dont want names hidden? make us all use r real names in the game for the arena, lets see how long they last since they think their so big & bad without their back up, they claim to win needing no help right? prove it, use your game names in the arena this time around & see how long you last tough guys lmao @ these so called big shots, their nothing without help, this one is so easy to prove, prove me wrong....................they fear change because their afraid to lose, makes them feel great having their underlings give them the wins, they need the search bar so they can tag team, without these things? they r nothing but a target in there.

 

What you seem to be forgetting here is that without the search bar the lower levels have no way in which to ask for help when a higher level attacks them. Which if you really think about that it HURTS the lower level even more

 

Or 2 die on the higher lvl's 2 donate health, spin it anyway ya want tho, most of the winners are players that dont even play the game, people watch them 2 see whose hitting them & the others swarm in & take them out, their just bait............ be honest, we all know this - search bar is just a legal way 2 cheat, its all good : ]

 

& just how does the search bar help the lower lvl's in there if they need help? cant send messages with the search bar, all you can send is a player lol - I do understand what ya mean tho, we all need a willing viking to die on us to make it the top, & they also need bait out there getting hit n send the one's hitting the bait to the big dogs to take out, trust me we all know how the arena is played, the lower lvl's dont stand a chance unless they r a underling..........

 

I have never used the search bar, have never asked for help, so for me it is a moot point,the search bar and the pack of players, This was meant to be "Many will enter , One will emerge," but like I said earlier, that is not how it is done, Kano saw that early and gave it their blessing even encouraging it, it seems to me just another way to to make it easy and I liken it to leveling with a partner, easy safe, no challenge. Does not impress me much

 

I cannot speak for how others play but I myself do try and take a player out all by myself. i will admit as the arena slims out it is harder to find someone not being attacked but that is how things are. I know of several lower levels that work together so they can do their best.

 

I hear ya & the only way to stop most of it is for everyone in there to be the same, no id's 2 send, no numbers 2 send by phone, message r skype, many will enter & 1 will emerge is a joke, soon hardly anyone will play the arena, most of the people I know said whats the use as soon as I start attacking I get swarmed by 3-5 different 1's, it dont affect me in there, I hardly do anything & still finish well, its a waste of stam for me, if more were to play I might give it a real shot, but the way it is now? its just a joke, if more stop playing it & let the wolf packs have it? they wont be leveling much either anymore, something to think about, why not change the name 2 guild arena wars, more fitting..............if something does not change fast in there? the arena is dead, its dead now on this platform - some still try & play but I have a feeling that is going to change.

 

The numbers u are quoting are when the arena was in MS not kanoplay. there are hundreds maybe thousands of players that quit after MS. The number of active players on KP dont even come close to those that were on MS. Like I said...over 1/3 seem to be entering here on KP which is a much higher ratio than ever entered on MS so its not obvious at all. Besides...when was the last time "everybody" liked something? The arena was meant for the higher levels to bring in some strategy and PVP, whats obvious is that of course the little guys are not going to win often if ever.

 

Not true, the numbers in all but PC have actually been rising slightly or remaining steady on average.

The way Lucifer is suggesting will not work the way he thinks, it will actually make it so there is less strategy as it will be way more luck of the draw. Not to mention the whole idea contradicts itself, He says he wants it fair....the only fair way is to remove all limits restriction and handicaps. Hes asking for the same xp for all players despite their level or attributes strengths...thats absurd. Hes asking for no losses by anyone...thats even crazier. Where the strategy or fairness in any of that? The only thing I didnt see him ask to be eliminated was defensive stance, Im not sure if this was just an oversight on his part or if he actually wants it to stay. If he wants it to stay then how would it be fair at all? He wants to eliminate any attack advantage. If he wants it gone than it just makes it all even less strategic and pretty much leaves everything up to dumb luck.....either u get decent battle page or u dont, either u get found or u dont. Let me guess ...we should all have the same health too?


Ide like to hear how this idea adds any type of strategy or fairness because im yet to hear a single bit that does. The current arena is far from perfect but its perfect in comparison to this idea. This idea sounds like a combination of welfare and the lottery. TY but no TY

 

The majority of players have been inactive from day 1. Why? Because most just sign up for the free XP. Do most think they can win? No. Should most think they should win? No! Why should they if they are a low level? There is plenty still to be had in the arena in terms of rewards and levels no matter what level u are. It is not hard for a lower level to rank highly in the arena while being active...but with that said ...strategy must be used. Is it likely a levl 750 is going to take out a level 10k? No, why should it be? In your opening post you quote Kanos words about the arena supposing to be an epic free for all and then go onto suggest an idea that u say will do just that. But all your idea does is limit, restrict and handicap even further which makes it even less of a free for all. Let me help u out with the definition of free for all............

a competition, dispute, or fight open to all comers usally with with no rules : brawl; also : a chaotic situation resembling a free-for-all especially in lacking rules or structure.

 

Only one does emerge in each and every arena. the "wolf pack" thing you speak of does not happen in all the arenas. Its not happening in the Kano play VC arena like the OP suggests, at least not by the players that usually win.....for the most part there simply isnt any need to form a pack unless The highest of levels are active and gaining health....if this is the case then the only way to take down these behemoths is to team up on them. In one case even an inactive Behemoth has won an arena because even a "wolf pack" couldnt bring them down because the 2 most seasoned arena players did not play that arena and the lesser experienced higher level got their arses handed to them by lower level players.

JJ and I have won the KPVC arena every time weve entered it, we are far from the highest level players in that game and we have never formed a "pack". Granted.... her and I (2 players...hardly a pack)will sometimes hit the same opponent but not for the reasons most think. Good XP targets are hard to come by for the higher level players such as myself and jj....when we find one thats better than others we tend to share them so we can both get the better XP and drops. Another reason is to defend against other players who have formed "packs", There is a notable player in this thread who is lobbying against these "packs" who themselves have come after JJ and I in "packs", none have ever been successful unless JJ n i were not entered in that particular arena.


Wheresthe challenge in the current arena u ask? Its overcoming the challenges such as "packs" and "higher levels, the challenge may be putting together a pack of your own to beat an opponent that can not be beat otherwise.

Whese the challege in this idea thats being suggested here? Make every one equal, no one loses and compete anonymity...where the challenge, wheres the strategy? It would all just be dumb luck. WOOOOHOOOO.

I play other games arenas and am a low level and perform just fine. I get a few levels and I rank well....whats the problem with that? I think half the problem here is that some active players just have unrealistic expectations and /or they have no clue what they are doing as far as strategy goes. Unless your uber strong u cant just go out and attack anyone and everyone and not expect to get killed....u need to play strategically. Just like u cant not man your account and expect to not be killed A couple of guys in this thread dont know the meaning of strategy when it comes to the arena they just want to be left alone while they level. One guy in particular got a free ride for a long time and was left to level....now he no longer has that free ride so he wants complete anonymity so he can continue to level...he doesnt want a challenge he just wants to feast on lower levels.


The only Game ive seen where a pack dominates is KPPC where the highest of levels run in a large pack, but they to have been beaten by a much lower level pack who played much more strategically. Maybe its diff in Fb but over here in KP anything is possible and has already happened. People just need to use their brains and stop wanting something for nothing and have realistic expectations

 

Eliminate other players by depleting their Health without getting killed yourself. You regain Health for every opponent you kill, so the harder you fight the longer you live..............About sums it up...........

I see lvl 750's killing high lvl's everyday off the bounty list, maybe some missed that : ]

I think its so funny vikings complain about no fight list in the main game & do not want to give the lower lvl's a chance to get ahead - if a lower lvl was to win? 75 favor points just might make them happy & make them want to play more n maybe get friends to play - but hey lets just keep it like it is & watch as more quit playing - we all know the top 20 most of the time work for the same person to make sure he wins, they do nothing but pose as bait & then use search bar to report who 2 attack............strategy? more like tattle tells...

And as far as not beating some higher lvl's go? there r a few you cant beat either, but in the arena it gives you a chance.....I like your true thoughts on the lower lvl's in the game, no wonder the numbers are going down on this platform. Thanks a lot!

In the description of the battle arena it uses YOU quite a bit, needs to be changed to THEY R THEM now - cheers!

Lmao...Weve already played arenas under our own names and/or JJ and I have swapped names. I suppose if u searched u will also find where I actually made that exact suggestion before and it got shot down in flames(oooops....guess u are wrong...lol). Help? whos helping us? Whos saying were big and bad? Never heard either of us say that. We cant exactly hide the fact that we win everytime we enter now can we? Who ever is saying we r big n bad has obviously come to that conclusion on their own. To who ever thinks that...TYVM!
