    Hi everyone,

At some point tomorrow the new Chat we've been working on will be rolled out for Zombie Slayer on Facebook and Kano Play. If you were around a couple weeks ago when we accidentally brought out the chat, rest assured that this iteration will have all of its functionality intact.

That prompt to open the chat will appear as a blue box in the artwork window for you current location (here's a handy screenshot):

Once the chat is open, it will automatically bump the game over and open on the right-hand side. From here you can do two things on the toolbar for the chat, which looks like this:

    chat tool bar.jpg

The "X" button will close the chat and revert it back to its "blue box" state. The other button will pop the chat out into it's own window, allowing you to re-size it and move it around. The chat currently comes with World and Faction tabs baked in, with more options to come.

If you have any questions or comments about the chat box when it releases tomorrow, this is the place to leave them!

Will we still be in the same chat groups as before?
Will the filter be as ridiculous as the one on kp?
Will we be able to use acutal puncuation on it?

    :)

    1) Group chats are being pulled over since they're part of the database but for the initial Beta release of the Chat, Groups won't be functional. They are coming soon, however.
    2) I went over the filter with the developer behind it yesterday and we removed some commonly mistaken words from the filter. We'll continue to refine it.
    3) Yes, punctuation is now allowed on our chat. ;)

Well it's a good thing we have multiple employees who can undertake several projects at one time (like new content, for example). ;)

If that's true why is the kamikaze and anchor hired squad not here yet when they said 3 months from now about 6-7 months ago?

I can't speak to the situation 6-7 months ago because that was slightly before my time but my current understanding is that while the hired squad and the personal loadouts are still on the docket to be implemented, there isn't a specific time frame right now. It's something we're working to nail down, however. Several other projects came up that necessitated moving around those ideas (such as our reevaluation of locations to speed up the process of implementing those).

So basically you're telling me they set a time frame and abandoned it without giving us any notice? The fortitude bar was not necessary, as you could probably tell from all the negative feedback even from players that didn't trip it. The new chat isn't necessary. There are many things that can be put off to implement things that HELP players not hinder them. Fortitude bar hindered players, the new chat will probably hinder those with a slower computer/connection, the background you put in somehow hinders speed as well from what I've been reading from people. The quick loadouts and additional hired squad options would help.

Can you remind me about the Kamikaze and anchor hired squad? Please open another thread.

As for the Fortitude feature please provide your experience with that feature in the separate thread to not detract from the topic of conversation here.

The new chat, tech wise is exactly the same as the previous version, we are just using space more efficiently for all resolutions. For example, if players have the resolution for it, the chat will be docked to the right and can be resized. If players do not, it will be undocked and players can move and resize as they like, they can even re-size to the top of the screen if they like and it will remember state. If you don't want to use it you can close it just like before. Because it is using the same tech, if you had chat open previously it should not be using any more resources than it was previously.

As for the background, I find this very hard to believe that adding a background image would in any way impact a noticeable difference in players speed in the game, that I believe to be entirely a perception based on change which is why we added an option in settings for players to disable the background if they truly think it has impacted performance.

Do you have any feedback for us on chat?

Agreed. Especially since the dumb thing doesn't work.
