    Well I suppose its my turn to chime in. A couple of shout outs before I go into my rant....lol. For starters...Congrats to Fielding for taking first in the last arena. Despite what anyone thinks or says you won it fair n square within the rules and guidelines set forth by Kano. WTG! Secondly.....WTG LARRY! Maybe now all the haters out there( some that have posted in this thread) will recognize you for VC stud u are. How many time have we heard all the jealous haters say u only get what u do in the arena courtesy of JJ n I? Considering U finished better than normal, we didnt even play and all of them finished well below you....I guess everyone now knows what some of us have known all along..... YOU DA MAN and they're all a bunch of whiny lil turds who look to tear down others due to their own inadequacies. Im sure they will just find something else to hate on but who cares...U showed them for what they truly are.

    As far as the arena itself goes...what a complete embarrassment for Kano. Way to completely ruin another feature KANO! Cant say I didnt tell ya something like this was going to happen. Youve now officially turned a feature that was in your own words "a feature designed for players with short battle lists that liked the PVP aspect" into a complete and utter joke. Its not Fielding fault....hes an uber high level with great numbers....he did exactly what you designed the arena to be,reward and promote (inactivity). Even though myself and others have been telling you all along this was going to happen. The signs have been there from day one with more inactive performing well than active players. You did nothing about it and this is what we get.....all the players that spent FP on refills got the shaft while the person who won was off at the beach doing anything but playing your game. If the message u wanted to send was HEY GUYS.....PLAY OUR GAME LESS AND BE REWARDED ...then ya ya hit the mark! Who cares if he only got rewards for 26th place....he still got an achievement for being in the top 5% just like all the other inactive players that have gotten similar achievements and their corresponding rewards for doing nothing while all the others that were throwing coin in to your coffers and took the time to actually play your game got ye olde shaft up the kazoo with with no KY treatment.

    A lot of players would like to win an arena Kano and they do exactly what you hope of them to do in an attempt to make that happen, do u actually think that a high level inactive player winning the arena is going to give them the incentive to play? You guys have done a lot of great things with these games over the years but unfortunately its one step forward two steps back way to often.

    Like I said previously....its not the inactive players fault for utilizing the do nothing strategy .... you guys have made it so the arena both promotes it and rewards it. Why not just have everyone enter and pick the top 25 at random? So much for an epic free for all designed for players who like the PVP aspect. When do we get the auto pilot tab? I could think of a few other things I could be doing while letting my game play itself. Come to think of it....why are bots illegal again? Isnt it because you dont want players to advance or excel in the games while not actually doing anything themselves? Perhaps with your new attitude towards things you should change the name to Robo-arena...where many will enter and one lucky inactive person will emerge victorious!

    well ty pimp for admitting that playing inactive is a strategy ...

    maybe if kano would put it back to the way it was for inactive players maybe more would join bringing the number back up ...

    Thank You Very Much Polish..I really appreciate those kind words and I hope you are right and people will understand i am a very capable player :). It was hard work and it did involve some thinking and being careful

    lol...dont get all excited. It was a strategy when the arena lasted longer and players had to use a combination of both. My use of the word strategy in the context of the newer much shorter arenas was intended to actually poke fun at it. In the newly shortened arena there is no strategy in doing nothing....its more of gift handed to SOME players by Kano. For the vast majority of arenas huge defense only took u so far....once Kano implemented the multiple attack slider strategy went out the window in that players with large defense overnight essentially had a huge advantage they didnt have before. According to kano the arena was suppose to reward balanced builds....thats simply not the case in Kanoplay MS where player count is so low. A player with high defense doesnt have to do or spend anything to perform well while the same is not true for high attack builds. Thats bias in favor of defense builds plain and simple. As ive stated on numerous occasions...it would be different if the arena lasted longer like it once did. When it did last longer it was much more likely players needed to use a combo of both or at least be manning the wheel. The way it stands now....if a player has uber high defense in the regular game then they can essentially run the entire arena in defense ...THATS NOT strategy. The whole idea of the arena was for it to separate from the main game. There are handicaps in place that cause high attack players to lose to players that they normally would never lose to. Players can beat players they normally can never beat. Seems a bit unfair that D stance is virtually unaffected and as this last arena has shown.....can rule the day

    try this one on put it back the way it was will bring more player in active and inactive. the number will go back up...

    we no when kano added the restrictions on inactives the number of player drop and kept droping arena after arena...we all have seen this...

    im just saying if kano puts it back to the way it was it just might bring the number back up...

    huh? i saw no correlation between inactive restrictions and player participation numbers. Like Ive said on numerous occasions ....The way to correct things is to adjust the number of attacks per on the number of players actually participating. Lets not forget there is a 3 day limit on the arena...3-4 hrs falls a wee bit short.

    Personally...Ide like participation numbers to be higher but I prefer even more so the arena be what it was intended/sold to us as ..... an epic free for all battle for players that like the pvp aspect....if that means lower participation numbers ....thats not preferable but absolutely acceptable. It was meant as a supplement to the game for those types of players....its become anything but.

    can you really say that for the number being low in the arenas... and i must also point out here the high number of bands and some have not come over to kanoplay server 2...so there are other factors you must take in account here...

    Why was slider even made? This is main reason why high defense is the problem by what I've noticed."I'm 1 of them lol" If don't have high health/defense now "out of defense mode" your killed in 1 minute if targeted by certain players. When was 1 stamina only, this was never a concern on defense strategy.

    Edit: I will say this, people that do spend $ on arena for FP's will have advantage over most. But why make a 3 day event into a few hours so others can't enjoy it as well?

    I absolutely 100% say that. Kano has done nothing but backed off from their original stated intent. Does it matter if the numbers have dropped off? According to them it had a specific purpose separate from the game itself. Either its what they stated it was gonna be or its not......guess what? ITS NOT! It was supposed to be a adjunct to the game itself with a specific intent ....its turned into just more of the same...its as simple as that. Maybe just maybe when we can take them at their word instead of just a bunch of false promises intended to keep us around for a few more months player will start to believe again in what made their games diff in the first place. If they cant appease their base...how can they possibly think of keeping the newbs? Its really no diff than than the new worlds and achievement u yearn for....think about it.

    As far as this particular discussion goes does it matter "why" participation numbers are so low? The whole point is that they are and with them being so low the current arena system gives an advantage to one type of build over the other and its anything but what the arena was intended to be.


    Its very simple...the arena was designed for players that enjoyed the PVP aspect of the game. How does sitting in def the entire time equate to pvp action? How is rewarding a player for not partaking in the pvp aspect in keeping with the stated intent of the arena?

    It was stated that the arena was to reward balanced builds....this is simply not the case. regardless of level or attack strength a player is handicapped. The same is not true for players with high defense. Essentially players with high attack are penalized by handicaps while defensive players are given essentially a free pass to do nothing and be rewarded for it. How is that rewarding balanced builds? The handicap is there to balance things to give lesser levels a bit more of a chance yet nothing is done to balance Defense...Its anything but balanced!

    Once again...If the arena were to last longer this would not be nearly as much of a problem but currently there are countless players in kanoplay MS that can ride out the arena in D stance....thats not strategy ...its auto pilot.

    The slider was implemented for a couple of reasons. 1) to speed up the arena because there was many complaints it was taking to long due to the high number of inactives 2) to help curb sniping.

    They def succeeded in speeding things up but have gone way to far. The attack slider needs to be tied to the actual number of participants. Ive seen zero evidence that the attack slider has curbed sniping. I have sniped just as many and have had just as many sniped as i did b4 the addition of the slider. As long as the player taking down the target and the sniper are using the same number of attacks it makes no difference. The only way it would make a diff is if the two players involved were using to diff numbers of attacks. Its possible but highly unlikely

    i have to disagree with you on that one i have seen less sniping in the arena...

    far as players getting the 100 hits in and then go in def stance and staying there until it runs out to hope for a better rank and some it work out well for them...so i say its a smart strategy...

    i dont play viking clan arena, so my comments may not be spot on
    i do play zombie slayer arena and quite frequently

    heres what i have noticed with the slider - it makes it easier for gangs
    it makes it harder on snipers
    i used to expend favor points in playing arena and pretty consistently finished top 20 and won it a few times
    now i expend very few favor points and pretty consistently finish in top 20 - thanks to the slider and defensive time
    i play for about 15-20 minutes attacking rigorously to the extent of my stam and xp ive saved from world bosses, faction rewards, and daily boosts, this generally gives me enough stam to level 3-4-5 times and allow me to mass a billion or so health in a very short time
    once you have acheived a billion or so health (at least in zombie slayer) you are no longer in the "target range" and can slide for a while while all the people still acquiring health are taking out targets faster than you can shake a stick at( and i can shake a pretty mean stick)
    then when the population hits 100 or so, i hop into defensive and (as pimp says, go to the beach) and do anything but play, and i take my top 20 finish
    Top 5% Finishes: 36
    Top 10% Finishes: 36
    Top 20% Finishes: 36

    thats as easy as it gets, for fifteen minutes of play, i gain favor points get a few levels and move on to something else and let the "playing" people improve my finish.

    before the slider, i was one of the playing people, manning the tower and spending points in the acquisition of levels and health, now i no longer need to do so, thanks to the brilliant developers at kano.

    i have mixed feelings about the whole thing, pimp was spot on at this being sold to us as a way to have more pvp, what its really become at least in my eyes, is no such thing....

    and the biggest reason is......Defense Mode Time 8925 seconds
    far too long in my opinion
