Wonder Bread, I saw three things in arena that were hindering not only mine but others playing the arena. Throttle is still set too low. I am guessing without knowing that you set up the throttle based on a number of attacks and not speed, it is the only explanation i have for being able to trip up, i am not clicking fast, clicking steady. The main problem i see and is why my team is complaining more than others is, we all do high attacks on a single target, i dont think your ever going to see a sniper trip the throttle because they only do 15-20 attacks in a burst and then nothing until they find another target to try for. While my style of play is steady clicking on a target to remove all their health. If this is the way it is set up you need to find a better way, because we are being throttled based on our play style and not anything else. Slowdown still very evident in arena I know i am not the only one to experience the slowdown rate of clicking vs attacks being registered. it was bad at the beginning and worse at the end, it was so bad at the end, it became a downright chore to try to finish the arena off because the register rate was so slow it took over 3.5 hours to register 9000 attacks (one attack per second is 3600 per hour) and i wasnt even a third of the way through his health total, if you really think i am going to spend 10 straight hours of attacking someone to take them from 1 billion health to zero, you need to rethink your strategy. Screen jumping the last two days horrible would be the right word for this, attack on any tab but the top most attack tab and screen jumps to the top obscuring the attack button you used forcing you to use the slowest attack tab possible or having to scroll down each attack to find the tab. Yes i checked my settings, yes i tried both ways to see if it would change, it woulnt, it wasnt just me it was others too, but this was beyond annoying. Couple together all three of these items and again i think this would make a new worst arena experience, worse than the last one which was then the all time worst. I would say in my estimation that each arena since the throttle began has been worse than the previous, whatever you did in your programming took arena from a must play, to a must wait and see cuz right now its not worth playing, the experience is just not that good. Im sure there will be people who think i am just sour grapes and blah blah blah. Take this from the winner of two of the last three arena, with a top ten finish in the other one. If your not going to believe the person winning that the experience is horrible, who will you believe?
if kano would actually look into the issues instead of wasting time doling out long winded excuses for everything that does wrong, the game might run a bit more smoothly. in lieu of listening to loyal, daily playing and paying customers they would rather watch word of mouth kill their app. it has happened before with many apps and is sure to happen with this one. people are quitting in droves yet they do nothing. so what do you do when you get nothing? you give nothing. i'm well aware it is impossible to make everyone happy in a setting with this many varying people and personalities but cheese and rice give us a reason to continue playing! and by reason, i don't mean a 3 day calendar or being able to buy un stuff from my phone.....ahem.
i didnt see anything constructive in this post other than making negative comments without any actual constructive criticism
Are we to make positive comments just for the sake of it? Why should we be positive about changes that negatively impact our game? These forums are filled with nonconstructive posts. Slave covered all the issues: 1. Fix the throttle 2. Fix the click-attack slowness issue 3. Fix the screen jumping Kano, your constant changes to arena make the game tedious and frustrating. And guess what, the same people are still winning, so your attempt to level the field failed to no avail. And if all this was for autoclickers, then can't you detect bots for arena like you do with the hitlist? Flush out the click bots, give us our arena back.
thanks for that =) and i would totally be positive and constructive if i had anything to be constructive about... the changes are angering people who are playing fairly and not reaping the rewards for their work. if you cannot understand frustration then i honestly don't know what to say to you. anything you say here seems to do nothing and go nowhere but myself and im sure a few others feel like this is the only place to have your concerns documented and voiced. granted you mods get to come in and erase anything that you deem puts you or kano in a negative light which creates more frustration. the mods don't seem to care, kano doesn't seem to care, so you tell me, what is there to be postive and constructive about? the players bring up issues to be deleted or ignored or get some smarty quip from a moderator and most admit they don't even play the game, the people that are all for the changes in arena dont even participate yet those seem to be the ones listened to.
@Slave I wanted to begin by saying that I appreciate how you've presented your arguments in this thread, as you've stayed civil and respectful while posting criticism. This is an excellent example of how to present constructive feedback, and I appreciate it. I know you're sick of hearing me say we're monitoring the throttle, but we do honestly look at the data from each arena and adjust accordingly. While we don't release specific information about features like the throttle, I can say that based on the most recent Zombie Slayer arena we will be making some adjustments that should result in a more pleasant experience, while continuing to protect players from abuse. As for the slower response times, we're continuing to look into this, although it's very bizarre. Are you finding that it's fluctuating, or being constantly slower? With the screen jumping, any time there's an update to the top of the screen, the game jumps there to display the new information, which is why there's also an attack button at the top so there's a button that doesn't jump around. You've mentioned "the slowest tab possible," which I believe is in reference to a common misconception that different attack links have different response times. The developers assure me that there isn't a difference in response times for the different attack links, and my ill-fated testing of the arena concluded this as well. We absolutely don't want the arena to be a bad experience, and I appreciate you letting me know how you feel about it. We are always looking for ways to improve the experience, and your suggestions have been very helpful. I can understand that high-stamina players can be frustrated by the sheer amount of clicking they have to do in the arena, and we are looking into possibly implementing something like Power Attacks to help with this, although I don't currently have any information on when that could possibly be added. Thank you again for your respectful feedback and opinions. @Mer Although your feedback phrased in a less respectful manner, I do appreciate what you're saying, and I agree that listening to players is extremely important. We do our best, but as you've mentioned it's not at all an easy task. We want the game to keep being awesome, and we know you guys want that as well, so keep letting us know what you think (as respectfully as possible, of course) and we'll do our best.
I would like to add something to her post. If you bring a math problem into excessive and fast clicking in arena here's what you shouldn't do. DO NOT ASK MATH RIGHT BEFORE THE KILL I hope that was very clear to see. We aren't going to be happy if we have to solve a math problem when the target is about to die, and then a sniper takes it. Ask before health hits 20 million.
Yes, that!!!! Thanks Bacon I meant a different mechanism then the throttle, they never had to throttle hunting, why this?
There is NO. misconception between response times of Attack links, and the red attack tab. The yellow links are at the vey least 4 times faster. if not exponentially. not to mention, that red attack button disapears when somone else's attack interferes triping the "warning" sign that there is somone spying your kill for a steal. If the yellow links are no longer able to use. Arena is ruined. Id be willing to bet there is over 100 survivors next round if it stays. I wouldnt be surprised to see 500. Many will enter, one will emerge! (straight out the window)
Just zoom out so you can see the whole page. I did it this arena before the jumping even happened. It lets me check my saved targets easily without having to scroll back down
mike it still jumps, so you cant keep the mouse in the same place cuz the page jumps and moves your mouse off the tab, similiar to the hitlist tab jumping when you exceed your alloted xp attacks, very difficult to track down. @eraser, aye, much faster tabs on the search, fight list and saved attacks are all supremely faster than the "attack again" tab if the developers say it isnt so, its time to put a developer in the arena and let them see for themselves i know its faster and without it, we are one click a second..... i thought it was pretty common knowledge about the speed on the tabs wonder bread there really is no comparison as to the speed of the play, it degraded after tripping the throttle and got progressively worse as arena wore on even all the way down to the last two players when i gave up trying to attack nightmare, cuz i just couldnt attack fast enough. meaning i didnt have ten hours to spend trying to click the mouse one click per second and do the 50,000 attacks it would have required to finish him off, i didnt have the time and it shouldnt have taken that long to do it, very very frustrating. kudos to all the people who suffered through that play the last two days, it was past difficult
i've sent a support ticket in each arena since the throttle was introduced, tho without sending a screen shot (as i did this time) Kano says their records show that i did not trip the throttle. would someone explain that to me? if i cant prove my case im a liar? why would this many people complain about an issue that doesn't exist?
@Slave + Eraser I did test the response time of each link during my testing in the arena, and the response times were the same for each link. That being said, there does seem to be a general consensus that using the yellow attack link is faster, so I've had a developer look into the page-jumping thing and it should be fixed for next arena, although please let us know if it isn't. For the response time issues, we've implemented some additional measures that should optimize the experience, although, as always, do let us know if you're still running into it. With the throttle, it's always important to remember that it's there to protect you from players abusing the feature through automation features. We have been analysing the data from recent arenas, and based on what we've seen, the throttle should continue to protect players while not restricting players playing without automation. @Jim We've responded to your support inquiry through support, please feel free to inquire about your support issue there.
the slowness for me was at the beginning 9pm til about 3am, then my attacks registered like they should but then i got timeout at least 20 times and didnt matter clicking fast or slow was very frustrating...
