Ok lets try this again. I didn't get to play much but for the length of time I was in it I still say the following. The search NEEDS to be RESTRICTED to levels 750 up to the mid levels per network.
Attacks 4,716 Kills 2 Wins 3,291 Losses 1,782 Biggest Attack 1,383,843 damage Status: Dead Rank: 277 ............looks like i did about as good as you
I don't mean to disagree, but I'm not sure that the search is the main problem... I think the main problem is that it appears that active players seem to be moved up above inactive players on the battle list... I was killed by someone who finished i n the top 10 in the last Pirates arena, but it didn't happen until I became active, and I'm pretty sure that she didn't search for me... she even apologized, even though it wasn't necessary... of course, if you have enemies in other parts of the games, I could see where the search could be a problem...
couldnt agree more....the biggest issue is and always has been the battle list. Kano keeps saying they're tweaking it but its never gotten better. For starters when we refresh the whole list should refresh and It should be 100%random
How about 100% inactives after a hr or 2? Random inactives...but wouldn't that help the inactive issue by having them the only ones on the list after a hr or 2 of being inactive. Kano, inactives are NOT appearing on the list like you claim they are(at least on myspace they're not)
according to your numbers u were one of the most active players in the arena for the amount of time u were in. Your exit had nothing to do with the search option...you simply messed with the wrong player at the wrong time
Thats a tough one. I think part of the problem with the the battle page is that Kano is trying to get the inactives to cycle through more often than the actives.....but whats happening is that the same inactives keep showing up unless they get killed off. The problem here is that some accounts health to kill reward ratio is so bad that nobody want to take them down.....so they just keep popping up on the battle page over and over. I think what ever Kano is doing to tweak the battle page is actually making things worse. Considering the vast majority of players are inactive....just leave the fight list 100% random. The fight page should also be far more random when the arena starts as well.....it seems everyone I speak with starts off the same players on their battle page. Another very odd thing is that some inactive players seem to stay hidden for 90% of the game and then show up on the battle page for everyone during the very late stages of the arena......its very weird and seems far from random as its happened every single arena ive been in. I would rather see the inactive accounts lose more health the longer they r inactive and starting way sooner than 6 hrs. The fact is that some of these accounts have such uber high health and a a tiny kill reward that its actually beneficial to them....the arena is supposed to reward balanced builds but in these cases its rewarding the extremely imbalanced builds. An account like this is built for inactivity because it has very little attack or def. while having very high health....they get to sit there do nothing and climb the ranks.....Kano needs to make them more attractive to go after
Pimp congrats on your win. and congrats to jillian for her finish, search didnt effect my game, 1 player toook me out, well i could have lasted longer by staying in defense, but didnt really have the time, it didnt help i was attacking the wrong person when i came out of defense either, and the 1 person attacking me had to big of an advantage on me, when I started fighting back, oh well gained a couple levels, oK i could really care less about SEARCH, staying or leaving, But i definetly dont agree with penalties on inactive, some might be due to time zone difference. Just the thoughts of The WINGMAN
The thing with inactives, timezones and start times is that most inactives are inactive by choice....I think this is fairly obvious considering all the diff start times weve had has had seemingly little or no effect on the number of inactives . Why? Because remaining inactive actually gives them a better chance to move up the ranks which basically penalizing those that are active because they get knocked out sooner for being active. Something about that just doesnt sit well with me when players with thousands of attacks and multiple kills places in the 200s somewhere while a player who never swung their sword makes the top 20....lol. Kano is essentially promoting inactivety by giving the free XP for entering and knowing full well that the majority of active players are the first to go. Thats why I think either penalizing inactives by cutting more health, having achievements and/or holding off on the ranking and rewards until the arena is completely over so the players that were actually active can be moved up the ranks according to their stats and the inactives can be moved down the rankings in the order they were eliminated would be much more incentive to play and much more fair. As far as the players that cant make it for more legitimate reasons such as prior or more important obligations or responsibilities....there will always be other arenas with diff start times and they still got their free XP. The arena is not like GP where u actually are penalized if u dont get em done....the arena is just an extra opt in aspect of the game...if u cant participate...theres always next time
I have an idea... what about sorting the arena list based on level, kind of like the way it works on the battle list now? Example: my level is 1000, and my in-range and out-of-range pirates on my regular battle list range from level 750 to level 1250... what if my battle list in the arena worked the same way? players over level 1250 wouldn't show up on my list unless there was enough room. this would work the same way for higher level players, but there would be no "restrictions" preventing you from attacking any particular player, like there are on the regular battle list. if I so chose, I could attack, say, a level 10000 player, and he or she could attack me, but we wouldn't automatically show up on each other's arena lists, at least in the beginning... maybe this will help? I have a feeling that I know how I got killed in the last Pirates arena... but it's kind of silly that I would show up on someone's list that is almost 5 times my level, at least in the beginning... and vice versa. why would I have a number of players on my list that I don't have any chance of killing, even if I had help?
how about the fight list being done like the final list like it shows up at the finally were you can click more and see players potions just wondering if they could do this to the starting fight list so you can see every one that is there and if they dead put thier ranking potion on them, i myself would like to be able to scroll though a fight list and be able to fight any that i chose not wait till one died for another one to pop up in its place just an idea if they can do it for the end resut why cant they do it for the start fight list
Thank you, Brad. You're a class act, as you usually are. Now, I thought about the time zone thing as well. And I agree, it does seem kind of unfair, as you said. BUT, here's the thing, everyone knows when the arena will start for them and if they choose to enter anyway, knowing it isn't going to work for them for many hours at least, then I still think their health needs to diminish, as Polish said. I still think the majority of inactive players are just hoping to advance doing nothing. This last PC arena was at a horrible time for Polish and me. We seriously thought about sandbagging it too. But we just aren't built that way. Being up all night and 14+ hours straight was brutal. lol If you think about it, most people who truly want to engage in the arena, can get there within the first several hours. So let the six hours stand, but after that first initial drop in health for inactives, let them continue to drop each hour after that as well. Long before the first six hours elapse, Polish and I are usually just cleaning out the inactives, so this last 14+ hour long arena we spent probably 10 hours killing inactive accounts along with less than a handful of other players doing the same thing. So, Kano, what do you say?
I have a couple issues with this idea. For starters it goes against the whole idea of the "free for all" that the arena was intended to be. Secondly.....there are far fewer high levels than any other levels....that wouldnt leave much for the high levels to do while waiting for the lower tier of levels duke it out. Having far fewer high level opponents would mean much less opportunity to gain health essentially handicapping them. What about the huge disparity in levels? There is a huge gap in levels between 1 player in MSPC and the rest of the top 20 (approx 5-7k levels)., obviously that player would be able to pick off his only competition before they ever got a chance to boost their health. By the time things got sorted out with the low and mid level tiers there would most likely be only 1 high level player left while all the other will have been knocked out well before the top 100. Even if the if your idea was very limited by time......the low number of high levels would insure the opportunity for all the high levels to save all the other high levels once again insuring their early demise
Just a quick notice: we've made a small change for future arenas with the Battle/Fight list. It will now be populated 100% randomly, as opposed to prioritizing inactives like we were.
This is welcome news indeed...TY! I realize a lot of us players at one time wanted inactives to come up more often....but for some reason that just wasnt working out. Thanks for listening to us again....we'll get our minds made up eventually....lol
Well if that was how the last VC battle arena in MSwas done , I can tell you it was AN EPIC FAIL Pimp u can credit yourself with 1 more kill in the VC on MS arena, even though I suicided out, YOU had me dead to rights
