Due to popular demand we have made some changes to how players are sourced for the Battle List. There are a couple of issues that we want to address: Undead Pirates cluttering the Battle List Having to exhaust all your Undead Pirate fights before you can see out of range opponents 1. Undead Pirates Now by default Undead Pirates will be hidden from your battle list. If there are some Undead Pirates to fight you will now see this link at the bottom of your Battle List: Click this link and Undead Pirates will load at bottom of your battle list. 2. Out of Range Opponent Sourcing We have had complaints that players felt they needed to exhaust their daily allotment of Undead Pirate Battles before their battle list opened up with more "live" opponents. While this was true we intended to only source higher level out-of-range opponents as a last resort to fill the Battle List. This has now changed and you will start to see higher level out-of-range opponents if there are less 5 in-range to battle. We appreciate your feedback so please let us know what you think of these changes in this thread. UPDATE (July 30th): Due to even more popular demand we have put the control in your hands to toggle if you want to hide either the Undead Pirates or Out of Range Pirates. If there are Undead or Out of Range within your list results you will see this at the top of your Battle list. Toggle the checkboxes to save your preference for the future. In addition to this each grouping of opponents is clearly labeled so you will be able to determine "Out of Range Pirates" as well as the Undead.
I always seem to have less than five pirates to fight... Now I've got to be extra careful not to hit the big guys on my fight board, or else I'll be creamed for the duration of 24 hrs. hahaha...
I think we may look to put into Settings an option to opt-out of sourcing these high level players before the Undead Pirates are exhausted. Stay tuned, any changes will be posted here and to the User Settings thread.
I have one pirate roughly equal to me, two 300 levels below, one 1000 levels higher and one 1500 levels higher. Why on earth would we want to see/attack pirates out of our range? So let me see if I have this right - I can attack that one guy, which will take only about 5 or 6 hits, bully a couple of lower-level guys and put myself at risk by taking on much bigger pirates. Some choice! Then there's the issue of seeing our own crew/friends on our Battle list - that's awful. People will be wrongly thinking they've been unclanned.
this is not going over well with some players , not at all , they are wondering why this has been done, I showed them the announcement this part is interesting, as I was not aware but I usually have people to fight on my fight or rival list anyway 2. Out of Range Opponent Sourcing We have had complaints that players felt they needed to exhaust their daily allotment of Undead Pirate Battles before their battle list opened up with more "live" opponents. While this was true we intended to only source higher level out-of-range opponents as a last resort to fill the Battle List
Not sure if this is happening to everyone, but if there's NO ONE healthy on the list, the undead aren't showing up for me at all. It's just a blank battle screen .
AT GP time tonight I had 2 pirates on my Battle list - one at my level and one 5000 levels higher. Gee, I hope this change is improving things for SOMEBODY.
I am not seeing much of a difference, as of yet, except that I need to click the undead if I want to see them, but a crewmate said he was attacked my players 2,000 levels higher, trying to find out the details, but has that changed?? that someone so much higher can attack a lower level like that??
And as Beth posted in viking, please stop having the undead randomly change positions. My list just loaded and they're moving positions randomly after attacks(or sometimes even after 1 attack) They did that way early when undead first came. Then they kept the same position. Now they're moving again randomly after attacking.
@ Lord, hmmm that should not be, that's myspace , right?? I will let them know, not sure if they will see it or be able to to anything till Monday, but will pass that along
They came on my list shortly after I posted that. It's in delayed reaction though. I'd think that tab would stay regardless if there's anyone healthy or not.
ok, Lord, I mentioned that also , I think they have some kinks , like any new stuff does, but hopefully on Monday they can address these kinds of things
battle list I see the adjustment made. Slight improvement but the jumping of positions is still there. At least on FB it's still there.
You now have the ability to control if you want to Hide the Undead Pirates or Out of Range Pirates. Please see the top post for updated details.
