I agree with Kul on this one. Killing oneself on a trap is a legitimate strategy that has been around for ever and should remain that way, in the end...the player dying is losing XP and thats a sufficent penalty in a game that revolves around XP.
I dont think it will promote more battles because if a player is off line its just gonna take a couple hits and there in the hospital.\
The word abuse/loop hole gets thrown around way to often. Just because people have differing opinions on what is acceptable game play does not make something more right or wrong....it simply means they have diff strategies. The fact that people have diff strategies and opinions is what makes these games fun. If Kano eliminated everything that people thought was a loop hole or that was being abused...what would we have left?
Calling someone a coward for offing themselves is simply wrong, using that logic....someone attacking or listing someone while offline would even be more cowardly would it not?
I use bounty traps to kill myself in some of games and not others. The main reason I use them is that most my rivals will not engage me while im on-line, and soon as I go off-line...they come outta the woodwork and go for the easy kill, how is that any better or worse than offing oneself in order to prevent this?
How about gold transfers? Some payers think these are an abuse/loophole. Not allowing one to kill themselves would only promote this would it not? Some players also think getting listed for no reason is bullyish, If a player is offline with an attractive bounty price....wouldnt that entice some to list them for nothing other than their bounty? For example, My VC base bounty is closing in on 19T, , Im at nearly 50t for my 3rd bounty, If I cant/dont off myself before I go off-line....its guaranteed that someone is gonna come along knock me into the hospital have their friends/alts slap me until Im a one hit kill and then have clan or more likely an alt list me while they collect the gold. Using the same logic...wouldnt this be an abuse?
The example/reason was cited for this idea that it wasnt right that someone could hit n hide and then off themselves not allowing for retaliation. You can slice and dice it anyway u want....but thats just plain good ole strategy. The whole point of a battle is to inflict as much damage as u can while taking as little as possible. Its not strategic at all to just stand toe to toe giving as much as u get, some may think that thats the only fair way.....but this isnt a board game where everyone gets there turn, these are fighting games in which the object is to best your opponent. With everyone having the same opportunities....the only thing that separates one of us from another is strategy
