[PC] Trouble with Names Reappearing After Being Removed For Non-Activity

My idea would be that since not everyone stays enthused about Pirate Clan or any game for that matter. Hence the issue of removing players from your clan that have not played in 2 or more years. When you remove them, they show up under Captains under the tab "Friends Playing Pirate Clan." While the technically are still in the game, they have not played so I am suggesting that the program be smart enough not to put their names under that tab if they have been removed for non-activity. If the person decides they want to get involved in the game again when they send a request to join clans, then the name could be put in that list again. The big problem is there is no way to connect their pirate name to their real name and the only thing that shows in the list is their real name.

you simply need to isolate the large number(in this case "x")between the 3A and %22%.That large number is the ID number for their myspace(or facebook depending on which network you play on)If you don't want them in your clan anymore,simply use that trick to get to their network profile and remove them.
For facebook,the very last number on the link is the ID number.

 

yup ,Lord is correct you can follow the ID back to the facebook profile of the person , I do it all the time when I want to see who someone is for various reasons

 

Along those lines, when a person changes their facebook link to personalize it (such that it then says https://www.facebook.com/ something or something) how can you get their unique facebook ID number?

You don't need it.But I'm sure there's a way.

 

You kind of do, since the app uses their number and facebook uses the new personalized name.

 

Removal of Names Of People That Stopped Playing Pirate Clan

Thanks for your responses, but Kano needs to address this. I know how to get a person’s I.D. number from their link in the game. When you delete as many people as I have and their real name shows under the tab “Friends that Play Pirate Clan,” it is too late and they should never go there in the first place. In addition, why would I want their I.D. number anyway? If they play other games I play, I cannot remove them from being Face Book Friends. I hope you people understand and I was told by Kano to post this in this part of the Forum to be considered to have this changed, not to get responses from people that do not have the power to make changes, no offense.

 

With Kanos dwindling numbers u might not want to be dropping inactive players, as more and more quit u may find yourself with less than your full allotment ...lol

Lmao! Kano told u to post here so they could hear/read the opinions of us players who "dont have the power to make changes", So if u want this idea to be considered...u need our positive responses. If u happen to get a majority of negative responses....then guess what? probably not gonna happen.

 

I am gonna jump in on this one.

1. It does not matter how facebook is doing with names and numbers now. You still copy a profile link from the game and throw it into the facebook bar page it should pop up the player. I have done it numerous times since there change still works.

2. Its not for kano to remove inactive players from your game. You added them it should be your resposibility to remove them. Just like every other game you have played no app does this for players.

3. Inactive players or players who have quit usually block the app so they no longer see posts instead of deleting countless people they added for the game. This is why people who are gamers have always created lists when adding players this way you can go through them and delete them if you no longer play the game anymore. And when you have those lists created you can add them to multiple lists so you always know the mutual games you play.

4. And most important thing is this is a open forum everyone has the right to there own opinions and can post those so long as they follow the rules of the forums. If you do not like people commenting negatively on your idea you either have to get use to it or do not post one. What you might see easier for you may make it harder on hundreds of players in the game always think about that.

 

Non Active Pirate Clan Players

I am sorry if I offended, any one as that was not my intention, as I said at the end “no offense” as none was intended. I was very clear on what the issue is and I will say it again, I.D. numbers will do nothing to fix this issue. I blame Kano for sending me to this site. Trust me I belong to several Forums and I know it is for everyone. I do not remember saying to anyone in this forum that it did not. In addition, yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion even if the answers had nothing to do with the problem, my opinion should be taken openly just like everyone else’s. What I put forth was the information that the suggestions by the others that responded will not fix this. Try not to be so sensitive Linda and Polishpimp as it seems you are the unfriendly ones. I am not sure what you meant by trying to have it both ways. I read what they said and put a reply to it. I did not know we were voting on anything. Out of all the responses, Polishpimp’s was the closest to giving useful information even though it does not fix the problem. I did not imply to anyone anything that was unfriendly. I stated facts. Again, I did not intend to be offensive Linda to you or anyone else in this Forum. If anyone else took it that way, I do apologize to anyone who did.

 

Im not sure what u think i said that was so "unfriendly" or how I was being overly sensitive. Im also confused as to why if u belong to "several forums" and u go onto say u understand their purpose....then why would u make the comment about not wanting responses from people who didnt have they ability to make changes?

I dont Know whether your new to Kano or what but Kano has the reputation of listening to its players wants, likes and dislikes and uses these forums and particularly this "idea" section in part to help shape their games. So in essence...you r getting responses from people who can "make changes"


Although I do understand that it can be difficult and time consuming to figure out whos who in the event u are looking to "thin the herd"....I just dont see it as a huge issue, certainly not one I would want Kano to waste their time and resources on when there are more pressing things that need to be addressed and new updates to be designed and implemented.

So as far as being offended...nope, I m just not down with your idea. I dont think its bad... just insignificant in the big scheme of things. As far as a partial remedy to your problem I suggest going forward that u ask existing clan/mateys and those ur adding to provide both their myspace/fb and game names and make a note of it as u enter them into separate game list or spreadsheet,

 

apology accepted, let's start over this post though was put up for a vote, maybe you just did not realize it, but even if it were in the discussion area it would prob have went the same way, saying that what you want IMO has no bearing on the game one way or another and for me is not something that needs to be addressed, since it does not affect the game in anyway shape or form that I am aware of, if you want someone off your clan just take them out of your clan, if that is what you are talking about, actually I am not even sure anymore what you want done and why but there are other issues within the game itself that could use some improvement and I again have no vote for your idea, but do not let that dissuade you, we all have ideas and not all of them get a good response

Thank you Linda I do appreciate that and I would like to start over. I am a very out spoken person and it is not my intention to treat people other than the way I want to be treated. I try to be kind to all and treat people the way I want to be treated. With that said, I understand there are game related issues that need to be fixed and I am unclear why when you write “Support” about an issue that is clearly an issue that they do not just pass it along to the developers for resolution.

My understanding of Forums is that they are for learning and getting information when you are unfamiliar with how a game or whatever the forum is for works and to learn from others experience, or at least I thought that was the premise of forums. The idea of forums as a place to get something fixed seems a bit odd to me.

So let me start again, I have well over the 1,000 “Friend” captains needed. I would just keep adding as people requested and have been doing that ever since I started playing the game. Even though I had enough "Friend" captains, the person requesting may still be under the 1,000 limit. One day not that long ago I had a message pop up that told me I had too many “Friend” captains and I needed to eliminate some. This came from Kano. Therefore, I started looking at my captain’s, saw there was a list to organize captains by “Date Last Played” and the dates went back to early 2009. Not thinking anything but removal would happen I started deleting captains. Within a few days, I needed to add a captain because they joined our Armada and I “Confirmed” the Face Book Friend request only to find out when I went into the game to send a “Clan” request there was this huge list of names that I could only assume came from the deleted captains. Yes, I made a mistake because I did not pay attention to the person’s real name when adding them in Face Book so their name was lost in all the other names. I was used to the fact that list had always been empty until the person became your friend in Face Book. Then their name and theirs was the only name that showed in “Friends Playing Pirate Clan” and I just clicked on them and sent out the clan request. Now that I know I make sure I know the persons real name when I need to add someone but in my opinion when a captain is deleted for any reason their name should not show in that list.

I am not sure how to make this any clearer so if you have any suggestions…

 

hmm a pop up from Kano saying you had too many captains and needed to get rid of them, to me that is very odd, I have close to 2,000 real clan , so I guess I have not reached the point where this popup would happen to me, would it not be easy to check with your armada and ask the person or someone who knows this person to just sent a clan request to you? have you check in the boost area , maybe this person already sent a clan request??

 

I thought it was odd too, but it came up on my Home page of the game so I know it was Kano. It was a window just below the tabs Home, Adventure, Boss etc. and above the items for sale. Now I have had Face Book tell me I was close to having too many friends, but never a game. I presently have 1726 clan members because I reduced a lot when I got that message. I believe I was either very close to or just above the 2,000 mark when I got the message.

As far as the people that wanted to join my clan after that, I just gave up because I have so many clan now and I figured if they really wanted me to join their clan, that they would send a clan request. I do not add clan any more unless they are joining our Armada or a special circumstance. Like you I have more than enough clan even is some did drop and it is not a necessity for me to add clan. My main concern now is hired captains and luckily, there is no list of names for that. lol
Yes, I do check in the boost area and add when there is someone to accept. That has not happened in a while.
Ok, thank you for all your help and hopefully one day they will fix the list so that only names of recent people that want to join show.

Oh, and about the pop up, when I told my wife and she has very close to the same amount of “Friend” captains as me, she has never gotten that box on her Home page either.

 

Localsiding is talking about a couple weeks back were they were looking into some how pooling the captains to make it more accesible. It didnt work the way it was intended and only lasted maybe a couple hrs a day at most and they reverted it. It no longer affects the outcome of the situation your trying to accomplish since it no longer applies. I know what he is talking about remember Linda in rockin so many started complaining about it about a month ago about having to remove players out. And it was reverted. Some people who were on did see it and then some never even got the chance to see it thats how fast it was removed.
