Multiple KANO Forum Accounts

Something I've noticed here recently, seems that we have single people with multiple KANO Forum accounts, either that or one person is using multiple people's Forum accounts. This makes it very difficult for KANO or anyone reading these forums to get an accurate read on what game users are thinking, and allows just one person to clog up the forum. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts - of course only from your own KANO Forum account and not from multiple ones certain persons might use.

 

I would not know how to know that, but I guess it could be. Seems to me the same people come here for the most part.but some play from Myspace and Facebook so depending on what game they have something to say, and what social network it is on, they can have an account for both networks

 

Well it's one thing if multiple members of a Viking Guild do it, most would agree that if one member of a guild does it, most of the rest of the guild would likely agree with their brother in arms. If my guild leader posted something on here, I'd likely post my agreement to it.

How they do it, is to have multiple email addresses - and then have a FORUM account for each email address. That's how they do it.

 

well that I would not know anything about , lol in PC I am in armada of 2 and in VC I am in a guild but there is no mob mentality , groups make rules and I don't like rules , I could do without armada's and guilds just fine ,everyman ( or woman) for themselves

 

Kano can view the IP addresses of everyone.If this is about your bounty trap thread being closed,they weren't the same.Get over it.Oh yeah,same IP still doesn't prove a thing.Family on the same computer perhaps or a shared internet connection.

Actually I could not agree with you more Linda. Guilds and Armada's have done nothing for the game long term. Maybe short term they were fun, but having level 200's start with me and me not being able to do much back got kinda annoying after awhile. Our VC Guild leaving the guild wars was the smartest thing we ever did.

yes Kano doing good job and see if players not have the same IP .. But .. there is so many programs that will change your IP address on your computer and u can use PC VC MW ZS MYSPACE FACEBOOK Forums ETC .. LOL

 

Would it be possible to Set Forum Ambushes on ALT FORUM accounts. I believe if we are able to ambush accounts we see used as ALTS in the forum - this will help to retard the activity of such accounts. I say we start out with 25 ALT ACCOUNT FORUM AMBUSHES.

 

I am certain we can also turn this Forum into a Money Maker for Kano.. they can sell us additional AMBUSHES and we can do free surveys to get addtional ones. Oh I am so excited about this new concept...

 

that post does seem a little hostile .

we need to get rid of all the secondary accounts . the cheaters need to be found and deleted from the game . lets stop trying to find reasons why they get away with the cheating and get rid of them .

As far as i know there is no rule that says you can only have one forum account. An Admin might need to clear that up.

PARA: rather than opening up a thread on this topic, shouldn't this be reported via Kano's support link? I don't know what it is offhand, but it's not hard to find on different threads in the forum... how far would we want to take this? would multiple posts from different accounts in the same guild in the game not be allowed as well?

I agree with Relentless. I do not believe there is any rule against multiple forum accounts, either, although of course I could be mistaken. I know you can't play multiple accounts in the game according to the TOU, but would this include forum posts? Maybe if Polish or one of the other regulars see this thread, they can give us their 2 cents, as they always do, lol...

And actually, now that I think about it, Wonder Woman had to approve the creation of my forum account, I couldn't create it without Kano's authorization... do we really think that Kano would allow multiple forum accounts to be created for the same person? Of course, this may be hard for them to verify up front... and to be honest with you, I'm not sure what the benefit to having multiple forum accounts would be, other than voting in idea threads...

 

Jared - I agree there is currently no rule about people having multiple forum accounts. What I'm getting at is maybe KANO needs this rule?

 

I think if Kano ever made one Forum account per player, a rule. It would be made to be broken. If people don't care about cheating in game, their not gonna care about a rule here on the Forum.

I stay logged into my KANO account all the time. I use Firefox and hubby uses Safari, but if he wants to check out KANO, he uses the link I have saved on the desktop. He didn't realize it was a "sign in" kind of thing and posted a question under my account once. I received a follow up alert in my e-mail and checked it out. I was terrified he caused trouble but he was nice LOL. I showed him the sign up thing, but he just said he would leave the question asking to me if he needed it. I even apologized on the thread for him using my account, although people probably didn't even notice.

I don't know if this is what you're talking about, people using others' accounts, but that's my experience with it. I should probably start signing out, though, because the last time I cleared my cookies/cache, I had to re-log in and I had to go scavenger hunting through my e-mails to find my log-in information LOL! If I get into the habit of signing in, I will remember it!

 

i think the issue is that someone can sign in using and alternate account and get "nasty" and not have to worry about being banned . of course if they already have secondary accounts they probably have alternative forum sign in's . ( though there have been cases of players using a browser with a saved password and signing in the forum with their primary account while playing their secondary) .

like the games themselves , there should be only one account per player .
