A lot of good ideas are being flushed down the drain, because some people award them 1 star. so, here's my suggestion : make the vote public, not secret. And so, we will know who voted and how.

  2. I'm sorry I disagree...

"A lot of good opinions", in itself an opinion and not a fact.

People have differentiating opinions and therefore people should be allowed to vote as they wish, whether they choose to do this publically or anonymously, it is there own choice. if they like an idea they vote highly, if they don't like an idea they vote with the opposite effect.

You cannot penalize people for having an opinion of their own, and everybody is entitled to that opinion, since this is a public forum, therefore they should freely be allowed to vote anonymously. :)

I have to disagree Maler. While your attentions might be good in wanting to see why people vote this way on certain idea's and threads it might cause issues later on in games if you can figure out who the person actually is that is commenting and rating low numbers on the idea stars. Many people in games take things seriously to time and they will hit them constantly and bounty them constantly. So for this reason i vote a 1 on it myself.

You know... this is One thing Ive considered myself.... a 1 star vote can hurt a great rating... especailly if the amount of votes are still low.

What i considered was just to reduce the amount of stars down to 4

    1 star- completely disagree
2 star- more disagree than agree
3 star- more agree than disagree
    4 star- completely agree.

Im not going to explain how math and averages work here. but less starts will take away the power of a jackass that wants to hurt somones thread, just because they know its thier rival

oh and by the way... im voiting a 10 on this one... just because it has a 2.1 rating, and the idea is of good merit! somone is obviously out to get you dude!

A better way to take the power away from the one star voters, even though its their right to vote one star if that is their opinion, would be for people to actually start voting on idea's they like rather than juse reading them and thinking its a good idea then closing the page.

Many good ideas get 50+ people who read them and like them but if only half a dozen give it a good rating then a couple of people throwing in a one star will really water down the result!

  8. Now that is an excellent idea!!!! I wanna vote on that ;)

well, it looks like there are more people that don't take responsibility for their actions, than those that do. it was to be expected because behind the keyboard everyone is a god, either they're fat, skinny, rich, poor, and so on.
anyway, thank you for your opinions, good or bad :)

Voting? I didn't realize there was voting or stars? Do I get one for my forehead???

But seriously...since where was there votes public or otherwise, besides those of unserious nature? I've voted on who was the "true" VC leader. Which was all fun and stuff, but I did not know there was a public platform on which serious subjects were put to a public vote, whether anonymous or otherwise. I thought we could submit ideas to Kano, but it was up to them to bring them into effect or not, i did not realize it had become a democratic ran platform. ????

Also, adding to my reply, does it really matter who voted or what they voted? If a vote comes in, why would it matter to whom it came from? If it is kano who would like that information make it blind public, and kano informed perhaps.

  11. The ratings do not need to be made public. Rather, players should start to voice their opinions on the threads/ideas that they rate.

Forcing the forum to show who rated what will just be a way for those who are unhappy with the voter/poster to "punish" them in game.

I voted 1. I don't think anyone needs to know who voted what. I think if votes were made public, more people wouldn't bother to vote at all. As it is a lot of people make votes but don't give a reason, more then likely because they are worried what people will do to them in game for disagreeing.

by having to sign your name ............. opens up up for attack in the game.... if you disagree with an idea for instance , ... a payer that may be playing the game with a credit card , then that player could if they wanted to just buy coin .............. and then bounty every one that has disagreed with their idea ............... they play the game with just revenge on the players that did not like the idea.................. so private vote protects these players from reprisals from revenge attacks . because they don't agree with an idea...............

i never thought about it that way.

Where in the world you go voting and tell everyone what you voted?

P.S. Presupun ca ai ajuns la varsta cu drept de veto Maler, stii foarte bine ca un vot ramane secret. Apropo, cu cine ai votat cand a iesit Basescu?

  16. Maler with all due respect...

You may think an idea is a great idea, but other people may think it's a really bad idea.

    Hence the voting system.

However if you believe that someone is purposely voting your ideas down, and you have the proof to back this up, then please send me a personal message with the details, and I will personally take it up with the developers on your behalf.
