Your inbox on hi5 ZS? or FB/MySpace? Probably can't get it resolved on hi5, but if it's elsewhere, please ping support again and we'll look for it.

The truth is 100% what I wrote at the start of this thread. There are hundreds if not thousands of players whose stats simply do not work for the other networks. It's not fair on both sides of the table to drop those players into FB/MySpace. Kano is a business, we operate on revenue, no big secret there! We can't sacrifice the quality of experience for MS/FB players because of a decision made by hi5. We'd like to keep each and every hi5 player, hence the points packages, if we lose some that are unhappy with that solution it's unfortunate but the reality of the situation. :(

You're essentially suggesting that we create our own social network. Fundamentally wouldn't be opposed to supporting our players through a network of our creation. Rome however, was not built in a day or a month, or even 12 months. It would take many weeks/months of engineering to accomplish such a feat and that's not our curent road map. :(

We talked about writing formulas and algorithms to scale the player stats appropriately for a transfer to FB or MS and believe me, we'd like to do a transfer for everyone but between the complexity of the issue and the fact that we are severely time constrained it just is not in the cards. Kano is not some huge mega corp like Zynga, we are a small team of passionate people who are fond of our players and want to support you the best we can. We have other projects, initiatives and content to produce for everyone! :) A pipe dream and I agree with you would be a good solution, just is not feasible. Sorry.

You don't have to leave, take a break, step away for a bit and digest it. A points package and a fresh start might just be what the doctor ordered. You can always take the points, take a break and come back to it in the future should you choose to. :)

It seems as though you are bent on believing what you wish, the honest truth is that we were optimistic all week we could do transfers of some kind. Either with some math done to adjust the stats, or some scaling done to hi5 players. It became obvious on Thursday that it just wasn't going to fly. By Friday we were all reasonably convinced after staring at the data (I have a 200+ page spreadsheet of stats I've read through) that it just wasn't going to fly. Friday afternoon and Friday evening rolled around with Kendall, myself and other devs talking about it throughout the day. I posted the root of this thread on Friday night after deliberating all day and into the evening. I started my day at 9am on Friday and I went home at midnight. That's the level of effort we put into solving this and while I sympathize 'points packagages' are not the ideal solution for everyone, it's the most equitable for all and what we can accomplish in the time constraints we have. Truth and transparency with you all.

There's no need for personal attacks. I played WoW for a long time, I actually transferred from a PvE server to a PvP server, one of the first ones available. Yes, Blizzard allows these types of transfers now, but that was not always the case. The point I was trying to make is that it's not fair for the fb/ms players to be displaced by the arrival of hi5 players was all.

Couple posts could use a little re-iterating as it seems to be getting lost from some players jumping in on the end of the thread:

Would like to reiterate that we were overly optimistic on what we could do, but when we actually sat down to think about it, taking into consideration the timeframe and after analyzing the different data sets involved, it was determined that it was not a viable option with the reasons given in the initial post. It is also important to note that from what we have seen with how competitors in the social game space have handled when making the decision themselves to shut down a game, they have offered packages to something similar or nothing at all. I would bet that the majority of hi5 games will likely not be doing any kind of transfer what so ever with the given timeline, especially the rpg's.

We plan to offer 2 packages, one that is straight points and another that will have characters initialized at a higher level depending on their character from hi5. From the original post:

    1. A package that includes Favor Points based on play and/or amount paid for on hi5 to get you started / continue on either Facebook or MySpace.
    2. Offer a package that includes Favor Points based on play and/or amount purchased, alongside a character that is started at a higher level / income based on your player from hi5, it would not be a direct transfer of stats but would be one that has been adjusted to take into account the new network, to allow for players to fairly rebuild their character, rebuild their clan/mob/squad.

We were notified of the future of hi5 games at the exact same time as the users. After the sale of hi5 we reached out to them and were assured that we would be notified in advance if there were. Believe me, we are just as upset as the users on this one, we have / had February as a blockbuster month for content in all our games but with hi5's decision we now have a short timeline to address this major issue.

All that being said, please remain respectful in this thread and try to respond directly to the points and issues that we have raised in the original post.

ROFL. Poor fb users, they will get a few low attack/defense and without any friends players to kill them countless times. This will really ruin their experience.

What? You want to migrate faster in order to catch the february calendar? That would not be fair for the FB players my friend... be quiet, stay in line and follow the orders!

Dude...chill...I don't want to migrate faster to catch the Feb Calendar (I wouldn't mind if we will migrate faster, but still). I just want to know if we can get those packages if we already have a character on Facebook or do we have to start another one (it ok with me, my fb character is lvl 13 and almost 600 days old..DON'T ask =)) :p)?

It's hard to chill down, I guess sarcasm it's my way of letting it go :(. Of course I had nothing personally with you, only the general situation made me sour... or bitter.

Ehhh..no problem, it happens. Especially when it's fueled with a decision like Hi5 took...(OMG they killed Kano Aps on Hi5...YOU BASTARDS!!!)
But I still hope for something better :)
My best 'Weapon of Choice'(Black Rebel Motorcycle Club) for all situations :)
Let's keep rocking and hope for the best! I know that the decision that Kano took might look a bit dark, but I'm sure that they still are trying to find a way to make it better :)
