Alrighty Kendall....ya had to know this was coming. I suggest u grab a nice frosty brewski...put your feet up and relax....LOL
For all those....not familiar with me...My name is Polish and Im a boss killing addict......I like big ones, lil ones, blue ones and scaled ones... hell...I LOVE EM ALL! I was killing bosses back when boss killing wasnt cool...lol. I dont know whether its true or not...but many people either credit or blame me for having a lasting impact on the games when it comes to how bosses r used today. When bosses were first introduced Kano didnt really know the impact that they could and have had on the games. Correct me if Im wrong Kendall......but u guys didnt really expect them to become such a mainstream leveling tool and that bosses would be reaching some of their current levels.
Most of u know that i can be pretty long winded and pretty damn passionate about a good debate and dont mind stepping on a few toes along the way if I think Im in the right or an injustice has occurred. Well to make a long story even longer...lol...I can remember when the topic of adding the power attack and slider bar(believe it or not it use to be 1 stamina only) first came to the forums, to put it mildly...I was against it and had more than a few choice words for r buddy Kendall. As u can see....I lost that battle and we now enjoy the 20 stamina power attack. Brace yourself Kendall and dont choke on that beer....U WERE RIGHT AND I WAS WRONG. (but only on that issue of course...lol)
The idea of increasing that limit even further is very intriguing....my selfish side has me busting at the seems to yell HELL YEA! But another part of me thinks this may be unnecessary and even problematic. The obviou pros....some of the bosses have become absolute behemoths....their health numbers r off the charts and it takes forever to bring em down, a 50 stamina attack would definitely help with this. But thats about it...is there other pros? In VC there r but a small handful of players that can take a beast like that down....and most of us wont even bother with them because of the completely lousy XP. Most players wont even ask for help on bosses like that anymore in fear they will go down in defeat essentially wasting everyones stamina that tried to help.
I think its important to note that there is a large disparity between what the truly capable boss killers think is a huge boss is and what the masses think a huge boss is. In VC there has actually been a trend happening where the majority of players r no longer putting out the bosses that they think r to large or no longer have achievements tied to them. For someone like me due to level and skill point allocation and depending on the boss...a level 100+ is nothing...where as for most a level 30 or so seems insane. Now it seems that the overwhelming majority of bosses available for help seem to be the newer bosses that still have achievements tied to them to a much higher level, this problem is probably magnified here in VC due to the number of players and the amount of time bosses have been available....but I would imagine this trend will continue in all the games as time passes. So we should ask ourselves...if this trend does continue.....would a 50 stamina attack really be necessary? Of course many players initial response is going to be YES....why? Because they're going to want to take down them bosses even faster b4 anyone else gets to that good XP...there in lies one of a few potential problems I can think of off the top of my head.
1. We can set limits on bosses ....but as it stands already the more powerful players can far exceed these limits simply because they r so powerful and cant do any less damage or simply because they r greedy. It is totally conceivable that a very powerful player could easily kill a low leveled boss with one 50 stam attack regardless of the limit set.
2. If the "trend" continues.....there is already going to be far fewer bosses available...throw a 50 stam attack in to the mix and the number is going to shrink big time.
3. There r some players out there that still think there is some value in going for unlocks (why... I dont know)...but what the heck...to each their own. But there is also those who have no respect what so ever for those who want unlocks and come in and kill a boss that has nearly gotten their "unlock", adding a 50 stam attack would surely add to that problem.
4. Boss leveling has proven to be faster than any other form of leveling and has been a bone of contention with the battle levelers since the onset of bosses. Look at the leader board....the top spots are mostly if not all boss levelers. Give the high stam boss killers a 50 stam attack and u might as well sit back with Kendall and grab a brewski .....because there is no point in even hoping that u ever have a chance of catching them.
5.
Like I said ....thats just a few off the top of my head....If and when iI think of more I will edit my post...but for now its late and I'm getting tired...lol
Im thinking rather than adding a more powerful attack....maybe we should just keep bosses at a more reasonable level and get players to put out the bosses they no longer do because they dont have any more achievements tied to them. For starters......Flood the the feeds with more bosses that are not nearly as high leveled. How do we do this? Heres a couple ideas that have been tossed around the forums b4
1. A lot more new bosses
2. Add achievements to the older bosses to the same level as the new ones
3. Put a cap on the level a boss can reach and then have them start over at level 1 again, maybe give them a new title like "legendary Minotaur" etc etc...
4. when a player reaches a bosses cap ...eliminate the boss and give them an entirely new boss available
I have much more to add to this post but im so damn tired I cant see straight....so in closing for now I just wanna say that its funny that i was against the original increase but have since been shown the error of my ways....but yet again here I am fighting the same battle...I must be a serious glutton for punishment....lol. But know this.....I probably stand to gain more from an idea such as this than most. I just think there must be a more equitable way of dealing with the out of control bosses . I look forward to hearing others thoughts on the subject.
