I really like the addition of the new boss health damage limiter, for the most part it allows for players wishes for unlocks or merely wanting to insure that some of there clan gets on their boss b4 its obliterated by someone such as myself. It also allows for players that choose to level off bosses the opportunity to save a lot of time by not having to sift through what can often be dozens of boss feed messages in an attempt to find the sometimes confusing or misleading intentions of the boss owner

With that said....I do think it could use some refining. I like the fact that Kano was thoughtful enough to allow an attack to go over the limit in an effort to not waste the attacking players valuable stamina, but at the same time it has allowed for some abuses by players.

A couple of ideas would be...

    1) lower the health damage limit to the minimum damage required for rewards on a particular boss

    2) or if an attack such as a "power attack" is going to far exceed the limit set....a message could pop up telling the attacker that they need to use a less powerful attack to fall within acceptable limits.

In addition.... to all the players out there that refuse to use the "health damage limiter" yet still cry when there bosses get over hit.....Get a grip! thats why this tool was implemented...either use it or shut up. It takes mere seconds to use and insures your intent for your boss happens. If u insist on not using it and that players read your feed instead.....your a control freak not to mention selfish and stubborn...Just a thought....lol

  2. wont dwell to much on this

but if someones attack is WAYYYY over the limit

then its just over the limit

but perhaps something else can get done

only allow up to the min damage set

    however

allow the attacking player to gain the proper exp as if the full damage went through

Thats a good idea, I was actually thinking something very similar but forgot to include it.

  4. No pop ups restricting an attack. That would in essence totally ban MANY bosses to players like me, you and Jillian. One 1 stamina hit from these players often times can do dozens of times the minimum damage on a boss.

If anything is to be done, make the damage beyond the cap be like what happens if you attack a boss that is almost dead with a 20 stamina hit. That is, the boss only suffers the damage up to the cap BUT the attacking player gets the FULL XP as if they did 20 stam worth of damage.

Also we need to have the cap be automatically removed within 8hrs of the boss expiring. I'm almost up to 100 on my count of bosses that have failed as an unforseen result of the cap. People forget their bosses and count on their clan mates to look after them so their time was not spent in vain, we need this ability to help again

Seconded, Thrand, these ideas would be quite helpful. I'm in a Freyja and the fight starter hasn't been on in days. I'll send a tiny-url with this boss to my feed and hope that there are some players who can whack this boss.

I agree with the restriction being removed when the boss is about to die, if the original owner goes offline for a week and you need the drops there´s no point in restricting it. I´d say 12 hours from the end though, pretty much like where XP penalty starts.
And capping the damage to the maximum allowed (and still getting the full XP) makes sense to me too, it´s pretty much the same when killing a boss. If it has 100 HP left and you use 20 stamina on it, you still get the full XP amount, but deal only the remaining 100 damage, I guess it would work just the same.
