Nope. Since there has to be ONE item used that unlocks at level 1430, and the only one is the Emerald Scale, we can't rule it out. Just because a non-gift is used in a different recipe DOESN'T mean it WILL NOT be used in a second recipe. We just haven't seen any recipes that do that yet.

Emerald Scale + Non gift weapons does not work, now working on mateys. Edit... Emerald Scale + Mateys does not work. I doubt it is with a ship, so until we get the other blacksmith recipes, I am giving up on the Emerald Scale.
So, I wonder what the level 1430 requirement is...Maybe it is misleading, like the Rusted Hook... Only 2 items...neither a gift...Maybe the other Blacksmith recipe unlocked at that level? Twin Blades? Even though it is listed AFTER the rifle...Alphabetical order? Twin Blades + Barnacle Blast Cannon, Hand Crafted Cannon, Inkball Cannon, Volley Cannon, Silver Volley Pistol, British Flintlock Pistol, Assassins Pistol, Oversized Powder Keg didn't work. I will try more weapons.
