[EDIT #2] After a significant amount of feedback from players in all 4 games about these proposed changes, we're going to leave the event schedule as-is for the month of September (I.E. the changes suggested in the OP will not be happening.) It sounds like moving these events would cause issues for players who play multiple games, and wouldn't go far enough to solve people's concerns about fatigue when playing the current volume of events. We'll look for other solutions to try and address that for now. Thank you to everyone who chimed in and helped us make the call not to pull the trigger on this next month! [EDITED FOR CLARITY] None of the events have changed per se, it's just that we've moved them around to avoid overlapping and broken some events up between games, so LCN doesn't have a calendar or sale at the same time as VC, PC and ZS. Hey there, chiefs! Big news about the schedule of events coming up. When the current event schedule was set up, we tried to organize it so that there weren't too many events happening at the same time. However, this got a bit more difficult when raids were added a few years ago. Over the past few months we've been surveying players via pop-ups in-game, and measuring how much players participate in events running at different times. One of the concerns we heard from you was that there are too many events at the same time, and it gets tiring doing everything at once. At the same time, people like how many different types of gameplay there are, and so we didn't want to drop any events at least for now. As a compromise, we've worked out a couple of changes to the events schedule that should help spread things out. These changes will also let us create some exciting new themes for calendars and keep things fresh for players who play more than one Kano game. Here's how it'd look for September: Aug. 30-31st - Battle Arena Sept. 1-3 - Weekend Calendar Sept. 1-5 - Guild War Sept. 7-12 - Raid Sept. 11-15 - Weekday Calendar Sept. 13-14 - Battle Arena Sept. 15-19 - Guild War Sept. 18-20 - Sale Sept. 27-28 - Battle Arena Sept. 29 - Oct. 3rd - Guild War This is the first time we've made a large change to event scheduling in quite a while, so we're very interested in hearing your feedback and seeing how things go over the next month. Many of the other changes we're working on are more technically complex, so we thought it'd help solve some of the concerns we’ve heard while we work on larger projects like crafting and game balance. We have more background on why we made these changes as well, so if you’re curious just let us know and I’ll share that here as well. Thanks for reading, and please let us know what you think!
The 5 day calendar that runs each month. It looks like they're thinking about scheduling them for different weeks for different games, instead of having them all run the same week for all the games.
Yes. The one that runs Monday to Friday each month. I can't think of the exact schedule offhand, but it has been the third full week of each month in all the games, I believe. I don't think we've had it yet this month, we just had the weekend one last weekend? So the 5 day one will be next week for August, and then it will be on different weeks by game, instead of all games doing them the same week.
You said it 5-day, how is that a weeklong challenge, I wanted clarification from Scoughman, last time I checked 5 days is not weeklong unless leave out weekend............ To me weeklong means 7 days, and wanted clarification is all if new change.
raids just finished on vc now you roll out another raid on sunday 3rd sept, 2 weeks later you for real, if anything raids every 3 months its fighting game not credit card game
Does this now mean that you intend to run the Guild War DURING the weekdays on the weeks you have listed? Please pardon me for asking the question, but that is literally how it reads to me as I sit with a calendar in front of me looking at your proposed schedule.
How about post #52 here or whole thread in general? http://forums.kanoapps.com/threads/bundle-packages.15516/page-3
And besides my first impression which Bully Thor stated already, this is a 5 week schedule. Are you proposing to toss the Gregorian calendar out or what are your intentions after this 5 week schedule? And please don't say you are playing it by ear. WHY on earth do we need a whole week of nothing but a sale??? Don't you think that a little preposterous? And we are all capable of looking at a calendar and recognizing you have always had a 4 week rotation of events on the weekends. SO WHAT?? You have 5 weekends in September- you have 4 months every year that do that- is there a new employee that is confounded by this principal that there are 13 cycles of 4 in a year to make 52 weeks? (There are 52 weeks in a year- and I am giving some math whiz a bit of charity for their lack of a calendar) What are you aiming for? I am as lost as Jades and I am holding a calendar. You want to shake things up? Well done, McFly! I am hoping for a better explanation before I say Way To Go Guys!! And the next thing. Battle Arena has traditionally NEVER coincided with Guild Wars. They have either been the Wednesday prior to GW or on the Saturday between GW and not during the Raid weekend. BUT you have managed to place a Battle Arena with a GW on each of those weeks....are we to surmise that BAs will now only be on a Wednesday....or is that a Saturday. Oh, but wait! We still are not quite sure what days during those weeks you will be holding GW. Surely you would not place them together. Do you think the servers could handle that?
Don't get me wrong- I realize you are trying to do growing and changing- and I do indeed applaud that. I am merely stating here what is probably going through several minds of your biggest fans. Perhaps a more solid idea of specific dates/days you would have in mind for those events during those 5 weeks might have made a better choice. Bear in mind that while your adoring public may like some changes, they may continue to respect a schedule they can count on that rotates in a predictable cycle, so that they may plan on playing and doing IRL things. Mess with that schedule too much and you may lose fans because they can't tune in with regularity. Remember you already have a four week schedule rolling- maybe rotate/ replace a different 4 week schedule with different events the following 4 weeks and then rotate back. You would expand your schedule of events and maintain a calendar of events that coincides with a Gregorian fashioned calendar. It might be a way to expand your horizons with the least resistance.
I really do not see how this will improve the game. Here we are many that think raid is to often. Now it will be in 14 days again??? How about all things we have ask you for? New worlds, Achievements in big need of change... And many more things. If not have see it yet so are we many that dont have mush left to work for!!!! For example... last time i did get a Achievements for a lvl up was at level 30 000.. Now at level 49 000!!!! And have not get any att all for it... Yes we are many that pay to play ( Had not be much of a game left if we did not) ... and you can not even give us that????? We are many that have ask you for do some Achievements for War Mood... Wen will that come?????? and we have ask for it for years!!!!! Dont you see that we are many that start leave game for it dont lead anywhere now....... I was close to close down my account as you dam well know.... How many of us need do that before you wake up???
And what about BA... the times it start for us live in Europe do really suck... Start time here is 7 pm and Sudden then start at 3 am Or it start at 11 pm and sudden at 7 am.... If you did not know it so yes we are some that live here and not in US!!!!!! I have stop play it for the bad times and for the bad update you did it to..... Just a dam long clicking.... before at least you had to be a lil smart to stay alive wen play it
Back with the old rotation on it wen did start 7am, 11 am, 3 pm 7 pm 11 pm and 1 am can have be 1 at 3 am too but not sure of that 1, then there always sometimes you had a change to play it with out need stay home from work to do it and goes for all... to get your start times you just need take off 5 or 6 hour on times... Hard isent it???? And back to old times BA....
Well that buggers up my own calendar I make for my guild mates. And 'Sale' is not really an event, is it? Can't remember the last time I spent real money on the game, not worth it. EDIT - lol, why's it say I'm a new member? I've been around for a loooong time!
I've been complaining about this for 2 years - yet KANO does not listen. They won't listen until we stop spending money.
8 years of keeping my head down and just being the quiet type of fella I am, not missed a single day's play, guess I've only made handful of posts on here though. So I guess I'm some kind of Kano message board noob. Yay, we're both right )
