Before I get started, I would like to apologize in advance if this is touching on a nerve for some of the mods/supermods. Perhaps I'll be saying something you had already wished to say.
For the past week, I've been seeing insulting posts on my friends messages feed, not directed at me, but insulting and degrading, some even racist.
I'm a MW veteran like many others, I've been around the "TAGS" and seen my share of wars, even without ever "tagging up". My position here is as it was there, I'm neutral, I accept all FR and invites. I only get involved when I'm made involved.
For some reason the atmosphere on ZS has taken a drastic, and frankly disappointing, turn for towards the immature. I don't understand what some may believe the difference is, it's still a game, there's still off-game chats that can be visited, it's still living breathing, feeling, thinking people behind the names on the other end of the computer.
Judging on the number of locked/deleted threads and posts, it seems that the ugliness has reached the forums.
1) Everyone should have already known, in-game drama stays in-game. Somebody attacks you and you don't like it... deal with it in the game, not in the forum.
2) Just because you have deep pockets, doesn't automatically make you above the rules. Games like these don't really care about how much money a single player spends. It's simple math really (Player A spends $2,000 a year. yet Player group B consists of 5,000 players who each spend $20 a year. Guess who the manging company cares more about)
3) Just because you feel like somebody is picking on you, doesn't entitle you to fill up other people's feeds with language that, in my day would result in a few teeth being knocked out by a parent, and I really don't want to see on something I do to unwind/escape the reality of my life
4) yesterday's rivals could be tomorrow's friends. So why taint that with words you really don't mean?
5) It's not a crime, nor should it be looked down upon because somebody has spent money on UN points. Face it people Kano isn't supporting this game just so some geeks can have fun all day, without expecting to make anything off of it. It's a business, and doing the offers, paying for UN points, all contribute. The more people who play the better the offers the more money they can charge for hosting those offers, and so on, and so forth. Yes I've spent money on ZS, approximately $100 bucks so far in monthly $20 incriments. I've also done several offers. There are those who have spent more, there are those who have spent less, to both groups I say thank you for supporting an app that I find so enjoyable. IF you haven't spent anything, I still thank you, because just playing the game is contributing also.
6) The title of this post. It's a game, we all play to have fun, we all play different ways, we all have different etiquette considerations, we all have feelings, we all contribute to the game. IF you have to take a game to the level of making threats and insults that offline could get you arrested, then perhaps you need to take a step back and re-evaluate your priorities.
In summation, I reiterate my apology to the mods, if this is a sore subject for them. I assume that a number of mods for this forum (some, all, one, or none) have wanted to say similar in the past couple weeks.
To the rest of you, just play the game and stop getting so bent out of shape.
