Tips please. Might be good for me or good for anyone.

To me the games have gone to a style that is not close to the original.

    1) The developers won't tweak a feature that underlies the regular game that holds the interest of multiple players: war mode. Any suggestions for change are pointless, the "developers" have said. Unless there was a way to monetize the mode, that is the end of war mode as the interest in it is dying (you get that Kano?). Absent that interest, what is there? For me, nothing. For many others, nothing. War mode gave someone a team to play with and fight with. And gave smaller players a chance to play and meet good players who would inevitable pass on good information on the game overall. Now? We won't be coddled in any way, as they, the "developers" have I guess other projects more important than what is the fuel to the regular game. We want changes, and there is no mechanism as the door has been shut on our faces. When a company says no like this, the message is two fold: a) you don't matter, b) we don't care.

    2) Money players. Yes. To spend is to keep the business alive from a certain point of view. It is not just player revenue that keeps them going. Other revenue sources exist and they are a growing company. Its not from the "Game of Thrones" or whatever that epic failure was. But money players who don't mind popcorn and drink money blown here, are faced with a decreasing overall game as people thwarted say in changing the iterations up in Battle Arena, decide enuf: its not a contest anymore of minds but of clicks and time, and clicks means real world wonga. So again its money wins. Not brains. Not build. Not strategy. Not team play. The antithesis of social play is Battle Arena.

    3) The antithesis of social play is also the Raid Boss. Monthly, the game shuts down for 8 days as these beasts are sought out and beaten on. Why? Because they exist and if you are a blind squirrel, you still get into a Raid. You then become at one with your mouse as you grind levels or hits "dead" in the real game, laughing as what u can do, in the ultimate hit n hide.

    4) Goodwill. At Support, that means listening and responding. In the forum, the same goes. One Community Manager, who is hung out there, the best so far, relies on the faceless "Developers" as if they are the gods. In an analogy, its like the PR using a standard out clause when things get untidy. The "Developers" - are they the code warriors? Game designer? Content marketer? Content Feedback Manager? Or is it that one is set on the concept of plausible deniability and "trust" to say "the developers are not willing to change anything at the moment"?

    5) You want "my" feedback or the group I am associated with? My feedback says death knell has arrived. My groups feedback shows that Kano is not listening to people who play their games. And people are saying goodbye to each other now. Daily.

So in light of 1 through 5, if it is break time, to see to see if they actually did listen to their customers / players or have a good game in mind for current and potential customers, how do we all really accomplish this? Its a shame it comes to this, for many many friends, but I can see the future and it's not the game I want to play.

Tips on quitting? There is no Kano Inhaler / Atomizer on the market. No Kano patches. No Kano gum.

HUM, I have thought about quitting on several occasions. And since there is no magic cure to wean myself off this game, my fantasy plan is to get really drunk one night and delete my FB account so when I do sober up, I cant go back! As far as KP2, it is dead already and so not much temptation to keep playing there. Will I follow through with it? Only time will tell. A lot depends on the path Kano takes in the near future.

You are not standing alone on that cliff Kel, there is a good crowd all lined up.

I've worked on both sides of games like this, and the Raid is without a doubt THE most overbalancing aspect I have ever seen brought into a game, much less on a monthly basis. Smart players figured out quickly that raids aren't here to benefit the players - which explains why Kano absolutely refused to listen to us.

It is absolutely ludicrous that Kano gives us raids, allowing some players the ability to gain THREE THOUSAND levels in 8 days and puts a cap on how much stamina a lower level player can get from a stamina refill (in an effort to keep them from leveling too fast). Seriously guys?

I dabbled in this game a long time before I was introduced to War Mode. Since that day, excepting when Hurricane Sandy took out my basement and power for a few days, I haven't missed a single day of playing. Not illness, blindness or personal tragedy has been able to keep me off line. Lately tho, I am having a hard time giving a crap. As more and more players go *POOF* it isn't very much fun any more. The 'developers' have long since lost touch with the player base. They chase their vision of $$ at the expense of the player (no pun intended). The more players leave, the harder the cash-grabbing-fist of Kano comes down, choking the golden geese still willing to throw good money after bad.

Mostly I come for the friends I've made here. This is the first time I've laid out a lot of actual money for a raid, and it was less about leveling and more about anchoring. Thru some very warped logic I figured if I spent a lot I'd have to keep playing to justify the outlay of cash. All it really did was leave me with less cash and a feeling like I'm trying to run up a down escalator.

I do think one reason this game is hard to walk away from is the gamer friends made over the years. For some, it goes even deeper than that. Relationships have been formed, and as Kel has mentioned in the past, some have even gotten married after meeting here on Kano games. The game is not the same as it use to be because the avenues that encouraged teamwork and friendship have been eroded partly due to changes in the arena, and raids which have been detrimental to building bonds as even I have found myself ignoring messages, and chat feeds so I could get more hits in on the bosses. War mode is fun, and does contribute to building friendships, but this feature is being ignored as far as tweaking some aspects of it to make it even better and more fun. The all mighty dollar is becoming more important to Kano than building up what made this game so appealing and addicting to the majority of players.

I don't play war mode and am not at all interested in that feature, but otherwise I agree with everything being said here, sad but true.

I'm too addicted to being a pirate to ever quit. I enjoy the familiarity of the game play, as well as the pirates within. Even with all of the changes that keep happening, the overall satisfaction level still ranks high for me. :)

I began playing PC over 6 years ago, so I remember when it was pretty basic, before there were even regular bosses, let alone raid bosses. That was my main game so am much newer to VC and as such have never done War Mode, although lately it's been something I might want to try at some point. But nevertheless I've been around Kano games for a long time and agree with what some have said here about a progression into what I also see now as sheer greed. I cannot comment on War mode....but,

Raid bosses have become ridiculous. It is like the corporate powers that be at Kano are ironically the same as the naive low level players who see nothing but the many levels they can jump up in days with no strength behind them who will eventually get pummeled by players who have leveled up more slowly the right way. Kano sees all the cash coming in with from these same players very quickly and doesn't realize they will have no game left when those players quit because they are so dissatisfied and unhappy. Neither can see beyond the immediate stupid gain, which isn't a gain at all. You send us surveys to fill out and just recently we got emails asking for feedback but no one seems to be listening.

As some also have mentioned above, I still enjoy playing, but I hate to see the unhappiness and what is happening to the long time players here. I also am mostly here for the friends I have made, and that's a huge draw for me to stay, but these things have become very negative on what should be a fun, positive thing to do.

What was the impetus for Raid Bosses anyway? Was it an idea that evolved out of one of these threads in the forum? Was it KANO? I keep asking myself why would something be introduced into the game that promotes such rapid leveling? Over 3000 levels over the course of the Raid Boss run as someone pointed out. Maybe more depending on how much money one decides to spend. I've asked this before in other threads but have never gotten an answer. Couldn't they just have created Raid Bosses that gave better rewards? Why was the leveling aspect so emphasized? I know the easy answer is money. But why force the golden goose to lay eggs more quickly if it will die sooner? Or was the goose already dying? Asking for player input with ideas for the game is smart, but not all player ideas are practicable. If that's where Raid Bosses truly came from. And Raid Bosses are certainly not in the game's best interest.

Raids actually came in when Gryphon started working at KANO, I didn't re-read all the old post's but believe this was his project.

The lurker may have gotten the idea from one thread or several. Would love to find out how this idea was pitched if indeed it was an idea from someone in the community.

"Can you create some type of superboss that would allow a bunch of us to hit it at one time and gain levels at breakneck speed?"

would be nice if kano would listen to the customers aka players in the game besides tryin to advance in creating something that we do not need in the games we play..would be greatful if they would just turn everything back the original the way it was...but u never see that happen..an sometimes i wish i can quit the game as well but i can not bc i dont wanna leave some of my friends behind, since clearly kano only does it for themselfs an the money an can careless about us players...an my results of the games are falling rapidly an decreasing in players bc of kano not doing as we want espically when everyone is paying there hard earn money into the game bc they like it why dont ya see that kano listen to the players why dontcha! we would actually quit complaining to you guys if u would make this game more fun an as long as we all have ideas u should mark it down an do them plain an simple..Dont hate bc us players are more skilled an better then you now come on show us some respect an do as we try to ask..Have a good day!!

Like it is now it for sure kill the game... Where did that battle game i did join go? We are many many that dont like it as it is now. So Question wen shall you start listen to your players? That day we have quit play? Then where shall you get your payouts from... And yes there will always be players ( me too ) that pay to play some or a lot... up to them... But this how it is now is only the big CC that count... I love the battle game and to battle... Still want you players? then i think you have to start listen to them. I want my battle game back :)

Wean off slowly to prevent regret.

In the beginning 10 levels in a day was a formidable accomplishment. Now it is messed up to hear people are leveling 3000+ times over a raid boss weekend. I remember the time there was only one person over level 1000.

Skill to level has disappeared and the original "fun level" has gone when people playing for 6 months pass people who have been daily players for years. Sadly as a business model, the older players are not a concern just the newer "spenders"

I would direct KANO's attention to post #10 in this thread. Lots of good ones here but that one, for me anyway, sums up exactly what's wrong with these things. To us older players anyway.

I think Gryphon has me blocked. I care about his efforts here as much as I care about this game being crafted better any further. Its done. Congrats, to the Team at Kano for destroying a battle game for lucre that will be an empty shell (easy prediction ... we will see who is right).
