This should really get reworked with introduction of raid bosses, "war your way to the top/battle your rivals for exp." needs to be changed to "whip out your credit card and smash on raid bosses."

"Feared and most powerful" LOL, not with all the hollow levels gained by hitting them.

LOL, that last line of what Kano says makes me laugh. Expand your empire, hoard your gold, and pillage (been there done all of that), Raid.......oops, there is the dreaded raid, but I doubt that is what they had in mind when they wrote what Viking Clan was all about. LOL, sorry I hear Raid right now, it makes my ears hurt :p

:( To give up on Kano means there is no more point in playing. I do think that it would be so much easier to just wake up in the morning and not feel the need to get points, or use a stam boost or even bother to do much of anything. Most of us do have a real life world to deal with everyday. Mostly we came here to enjoy our free time and somehow became addicted to becoming stronger and stronger to outdo our opponents. But when the daily grind interferes with our ability to keep up because we do not want to spend the FPs to level off a new feature, the game loses the intrigue it once had.

Very interesting thread. Being one of the so called whales I find myself in agreement with many of the points brought up. Players like myself and Kel worked very hard to get where we are. To watch what is going on is turning my stomach. There are players that actually brag that they do not battle and jump in every Raid Boss they can. In the interest of self preservation I found myself joining the Lemmings and hitting em. ClicK Click Click Click. There used to be some skill involved, careful crafting, strategy in arena and actually fighting other players. Kano has the right to make money but you are walking a very fine line here. I perceive alot of long time loyal customers, who did invest in the game, very disenchanted.
The old Arena was just fine. So what the higher level players won. We earned the right to win by playing hard and getting to where we got.
The Raid Bosses stink!!!! Yes we level like heck off of em but what skill is there. What gaming aspect?
I have other issues too? At the risk of getting slammed banned and yelled at I have had it with the rampant cheating. When you have played as long as I have you know when people are using something. You dont have to be a rocket scientist. Really getting tired of it. I dont even bother to report it. Why? Because info is so top secret. Give me a break.
As much as I disagree with him on many levels I have to go with Kel on this. I do not know who the sounding whale was nor do I really care. But its getting real close to the day that someone asks in WC has anyone seen C Dog

Wow. Hell really has frozen over. And it turns out it took the Raid Bosses to do it. Very good post though. :)
Mitch, I know you're reading this thread even though you're not commenting. And I hate to throw all this at you because you seem like a cool guy but if your not going to respond I hope you are at least listening and taking the concerns you're seeing posted here by some very serious players back to KANO. Yes, the simple truth is that many are doing Raid Bosses because they feel they have no choice. And when you feel forced to do something it no longer is fun. Many will just head for the exits instead in time. For the good of the game (and I don't throw that term around lightly) I hope KANO can see just how serious an issue this is and remove these leveling vehicles from the game before the damage becomes irreparable. :(

OMG .... I clicked "like" on a Craig Day post where he said 'I have to go with Kel on this" as well. Tartarus himself has frozen.

Well my car was outside last night and it snowed ... it got snow on it. To conclude the popularity of Raids is by the use of them is the same as my expectation of the snow clearing to be done. The ice underneath the snow, I did not expect nor like. Substitute "ice" for the sentiment on "Raids" and you have it in a nutshell. No true player of these fighting games will like them. The "work" done otherwise is wasted in the actions of a "popular feature."

To see 000's of FP's spent otherwise, for what, I simply laugh at my stupidity in trusting a gaming company to keep the same game going just about the same way. To make a game breaker in the 6th year and not think it as same, says enough.

It is funny retrospectively to see the 500+ levels gained in a day by Challenges by a few players and that got "fixed" quite rapidly. I remember the interaction with Kendall who finally got it when I said "Players are going to quit" when you wipe out what they have done in your game overnight. Jeez, why was it fixed? I had one fellow wanting to spend his monthly paycheck to catch me using Challenges. Ed. note: maybe more than 1!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

So now we have players gaining 200, 300, 400, or even 500 levels a day using "Raids" and its different LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring back the 1 FP per Arrow!

Oh yes Kano will respond, its "different" because with the Arrows as a game breaker, it was only at a cost of roughly a 100 FP's for 200 levels. Now with Raids it might be 1000 FP's ... and its so popular ...

Where is Kel? Why does he not heal up? Why does he not fight if his light is showing on? Answer: I am getting my freebies and going elsewhere. And yawn to this game that once had some skill attached to it when the operators could see a game breaker and do something to it.

hey Kano, If you need a casket to bury the game Costco has them at a very good price.
Your refusal to deal with the cheats and many of your game changes has got me with a foot out the door as well. 'Fun and fair to all' needs to have 'with a credit card' attached to the back end of that motto.IMO you have ruined the game so no more will be spent on it in it's present form. I'll come on and use what I can without the purchase of FPs but I'm sure even that will fade. The game used to require some thinking, strategy and skill but has turned into a 'Who will spend more and sit mindlessly and click ( or auto click or run scripts, because you have your head buried on that too ). I miss the days when you had to earn weapons and warriors- now you can buy them in a bundle or crate. I miss the days when the arena required skill- now it is a who will sit clicking and spending the longest. I miss the days when you had to earn income- now you can purchase lottery tickets. I miss the days you had to battle for levels- now you can get a years worth during a raid event. All the old timers that have earned their game rank know what I'm talking about. We have asked for game content, not financial transfers ,but it has fallen on deaf ears. I've been in the same location for so long my Viking name should be 'Stonehenge' yet time and resources were turned toward 'Raid Bosses' and 'Arena' changes.... news flash- You didn't improve the game!

Nothing from kano on this thread, why am i not surprised? As for everyone chiming in......what did you all expect? A free game thats fun and stays fun indefinitely? All games come and go, some live long and prosper while others go streaking thru your pc as fast as they can but all of them die off eventually. Did you think kano wouldn't notice the impending doom? They noticed and theyre getting what they can while they can before there's nothing left to get. Any of us would do the same, nature of the beast and all that crap. Im no quitter so it looks like I'll be riding this broken down bus till it hits some black ice, but i know the end when i see it.

I commented on the first page if you care to go back and read it. Suffice to say we are working on areas of the game that have been called out as lacking and Support and I are talking to the devs/content scheduler about the current frequency of Raid Bosses.

It's even worse with Raid bosses and levels.

Let's say you have 7500 stam and 3000sth energy, a reasonable assumption for a level 12.000

As far as I can see, XP gained from Raid Bosses scales to level, so you need roughly 60 20-Stam Power attacks. (1200 Stam +/-)

Which means, for 6 levels you need 1 10FP refill and you have some spare stam over. 100 Levels are thus 17 Refills of 10 FPs. For leveling, you gain 100 FPs. In the end, you invest 70 to 100 FPs (80, 90, 100 should you need an energy refill while hitting).

100 Levels for a net cost of at most 100 FPs? I can see why some people consider it attractive, but they fail to see the downside. Sure, they blazed through hundreds if not thousands of levels, but at the end they stand there and have to realize that they gained a metric ton of levels and only a handful of weapons. Have fun trying to get all these weapons you will desperately need after your sprint through the levels. And get ready to have lots of people hounding you because your greed for a quick ascension to a higher level made you an easy target.

Fact is, people that blaze through the levels with Raids and gain large amounts of levels compared to their starting level will have to shell out a lot of FPs to have a fighting chance at their new levels. The primary cost of leveling with Raids is rather low, it's the secondary costs you should really worry about.

Oh mitch, we all know you're here for us and for future reference, when i say nothing from kano i surely do not mean to call you out. There are certain issues the higher ups should feel the need to chime in on if they care so much about their games, so when i say nothing from kano I am most definitely NOT referring to you my friend.

To me the effect is still the same: we have 200-300-400 levels going on daily during raids by players, and the game operator is thinking of altering the frequency as a way of mitigating the damage to the game and appeasing the sentiment. IOW, we cannot put the genie back in the bottle, we have an investment in this and we will see it through.

After communicating the 000's of levels taken in a week, in yee olden days, the movement would have been to make these feats near impossible, to dissuade what is going on. After 4 rounds of them, what we have is just as bad as it was initially: when people can launch 3 or 4 of their own and kill them off most of them by themselves, I think it says there is an issue here, beyond frequency.

To that I will post in the Ideas section a possible solution to save the dev time on these Raids and keep the game interesting to play. I don't know its receptivity but in tribute to a Great Legend of KP2, I feel its something I can offer up to maybe save a very sorry state.

maybe everyone is looking at this wrong, maybe the game needs this push. I have accepted those who spend more level more and get stronger, so if them spending more brings me more opportunities bring it on. those who adapt survive

None of that is necessarily true, people who level fast with any one way,is not gonna be stronger, be it leveling with a partner or a raid. Slow and steady wins the race, not mindless clicking.

why is it out of balance so theres more of everything and they are all weaker than you even if they are 1000 levels ahead
