517 wins against since arena start, nice idea if they were too remove ALL forms of saving as i was tagged early on and then eliminated quickly. No history should be shown at all, just find your target and hit without any form of saving!!!

It seems the first version was really disliked - the "hate" towards the "turtles" was really obvious. I used to argue for the turtles, saying that the sacrifices they made to create BA winners should be rewarded and that Kano unfairly yanked the rug out from underneath them - I still feel this way, but I think the first version of BA was unfair as it simply rewarded people who hid. The 100 min attack requirement turned the old version of BA into a very active event on the Kong/AG server, though, and it seems that this "old" format could have been tweaked to create an even better event. The one issue which would remain would be the "time zone" issue - now that BA has been drastically changed, maybe it could be changed again to get rid of another persistent gripe, the "time zone" issue, why not run it as a two day elimination event not in real time?

Allow people to start in level or stat groups (let's say five tiers/groups).
View opponent stats and chose one - then fight to advance - if you win you advance, if you don't you're out, but you don't affect the defenders' chances of progressing (and you can only defeat a defender once),
Whoever has the most wins in their group/tier can progress to the final - maybe advance 2-5 players from each group/tier to the final
The final event score would be kills gained in final divided by defeats (but, to make the math work out, assign a value of 0.1 for no defeats); the net result would be to allow only active players to advance to the final, and offer some reward to players with defensive builds (who, of course, must have been very active to advance to the final), and it would, mostly, get rid of the time zone issue.

For your further enjoyment, here are my current BA results - I am sure you all feel that I deserve my rewards:

Birk - I'll always be a huge fan of the original BA - but this is an acceptable alternative. Before, this arena I'd likely not be able to play an arena with a 5 PM Eastern Time start, but now I can play, get a few levels. Seems that a few more people played this time. Kano Server 2 we had 248 or so. Last arena was 228. Not sure if that was because of Christmas or people being bothered by issues having to do with KANO.

But it's good to have 250 or so playing the BA again in Server 2.

Kirsten - there were alot of people playing on MS. It was when MS started to die off that people left. When KANO went to Server 2 - some players started to come back for a short while. But they left shortly afterwards.

As far as having the players advertise the game - well while I appreciate your "take charge attitude" there, the fact is that we pay KANO for a reason. And part of that reason is to advertise the game.

As the Great Battle Arena debate rages on. Well, although over 1300 players signed up for the FB Arena. A quick survey of the results list showed only 345 players actually scored points. So that would indicate to me that approx 3/4 of those signed up didnt play. I sign up everytime because I get free xp for doing so. Perhaps that the reason why this large group didnt play. Who knows but it does not seem that all this tweaking has had any effect on the numbers.
I used to look forward to Arena. It was fun. Required some strategy and actually fostered team work. Now I stifle a yawn, Say oh look arena today, go in, beat on people, get beat on, accrue points and get knocked out. Now I cant stifle the yawn. Wander off, Turn on Netflix or read my E Mail. Oh is my 30 mins up yet? Go back in, Beat in people, get beat on, accrue points and get knocked out. Etc. Etc Etc. Oh wait Sudden Death starts at 1 AM my time. Well I am not that crazy. Turn on my awesome defense time of 3 hours and 47 minutes. ( Which at my level is insane) and go to bed. Upon awakening I sign on and find that I have finished 11th. No effort, no thinking, no strategy. Plus I even turtled.
Just Great. Go back to the way it was.

It doesn't matter to me how many ways you have changed the Arena Battle. I can seem to find a way to make it work for me. I like reviving every half hour. I make many levels. It does scarf up the stam tho. I find I don't even need much of the massive def time I have. I prolong the game to what end? Finishing among the finalists gives me no additional rank. Throw it at me, I will make it work, somehow.

The old way only was good for the high level players. The first time I did rank in the 70s, I had forgotten about the BA. But I always tell my guild to join for the XP even if they can't play in it. It's free XP, so why not join. Next the changes does help out and hurt. Cents if your high and got the stamina/FPs you can keep attacking for hours. I am a good level and can kill many people in the BA. With the changes I am able to level up much more then before. I would never want to go back to the old one.

I can make do just fine with the new arena as well, I ranked 3rd nothing new I did that before as a turtle. I did level more but I also used 50 fp to rank 3rd where I did so before for 10-20. I still feel a bit, I guess a kind word would be tainted as to the complete nerfing of 6000 of my skill points I had put in defense. Def mode really plays no part anymore as thee is no incentive to stay alive.I would really like to see some conversation from kano on this subject

There is incentive to live...5% of your score stacks with a lot of deaths. I am disappointed in the new BA. I didn't play for a hundred days, usually scored around the 150 score slot, and I jump in and then find myself among the top 75. Just for showing some effort and using a few FP's. Everytime I revived the people who were alive since the start would crush me...just felt like there is a reason there is such a HUMONGOUS gap in the points and who gets them. Overall, it is nice, but using tiers and the point system could work out. Keep the people at a high level from getting free points for just a couple hundred stamina.

I averaged 125k points per death, 5% is no incentive not to die.incentive is kill/die fast respawn repeat

  14. I was a turtle and yes def mode is redundant but i did what i had too before being tagged by a big gun.I lvld 35 times and finished in top 30 but it started my 22:00 with knockout 6:00 and the next is 2:00 am start! Now i am one of the actives but find these times ridiculous to get a decent score and would like no form of saving allowed or history shown at all.

You leveled 35 times that is not a turtle, you were active, there is no leveling for a true turtle. The point system worked well it seems :) no fighting means no points which is what will keep turtles from ranking :)
Looking forward to when this feature comes to PC :)

unless you have exceptionally high stamina you may not like it as much as you think Kirsten

I don't take it that seriously, it is not my main concern, I have tried the VC one, and it wasnot half bad, and not to worry about my stamina :) next time I remember to check start times, I will give it another shot, and if I need more stamina I will get a refil or two or three ,whatever I need if I am playing :)

Can we summarize the new arena simply as a place where you get to see how much stamina you're able to dump - and that's it? Is there more to it?

If not, is simply dumping stamina fun - does it provide a challenge, is there an aspect of "chance"?

I did not play for one hundred days, period. I still haven't restarted my ZS or me other accounts that are played legally. In my personal opinion, I ranked average with the players that either have the time and/or money and/or those that play every aspect of the game and have been for awhile now.
