How about this for a suggestion Mitch. Instead of making it where someone can use protect and then keep listing other faction members, make it so if someone uses protection they lose the ability to list anyone themselves. If it's a case where someone is getting bullied they should have no problem doing that since they aren't doing anything to provoke it. If is someone that is abusing it, it stops them from provoking it or they have to deal with the consequences of their actions for listing others.
5 starz, there are some people that play this way, sure another "faction member" could list them. In return that person could list entire faction multiple times, take away their opportunity in doing so. If they hide, then no retaliation upon guild/faction, and no hunting abilities.
I'm not sure that would work either. Since it'd leave the protector completely defenseless. But it's close. Surely we can come up with a system to make it not such a dud of a feature since it's obviously staying. Something has to be done. If you are the large account in a faction of say 300-1000's they get listed for everything while you remain untouched. So it's being used as a way to really encourage bullying rather than preventing it. Pretty sure that was NOT it's intended use. The game was designed that to get ahead you build a strong squad. I still contend this is the best way to deal with a "griefer" get ya some strong squad willing to go toe to toe with them. The max negative was put in to deal with excessive listings. The under 300, the 7 day protection, all designed for the same purpose and work much better. I've been around this game for a long time. And one thing has remained true. There has always been high levels spoiling for a fight. And there have always been high levels who help the littler ones. It gives them rivals. You just have to network and find them. But I digress. He's on the right track in that it really needs to be tied more to their own actions. If there is an account chaining someone there is often a very good reason. It may not be Lists. It may be rude comments in WC. Or it might be that it's chaining someone else. It might be that they constantly punch then run and hide. It may be that they've sent someone messages outside the game that are totally uncalled for. This last one there is absolutely nothing Kano can do, so the slayers have taken it upon themselves to police folks that do that. So I would ask, what was this designed to stop? or encourage if that's the case. It's certainly not accomplishing it's intended goal. Factions sort their feed and go help their squad/faction. It's part of what the point of a faction is. By allowing these users to continually go after 24 of the slayers and just not retaliating against the one with the cash, you've given the supposed victim free reign of terror. Perhaps if you enable protection you are unable to use any stamina until the protection expires except on their fightlist. Shorten it to 23 hours. This stops them from harassing and being harassed. PS. I still voted 5 stars for the simple fact that as far as ideas go it's as close as I've seen for a solution.
Not being able to use stamina on anything but the fight list would be annoying...Why not disable them from fighting live people at all? Make them swack around the dead guys like in Valhalla for their dailies.
Yes , cause a player starting out has 30 days protection , and protection from being listed by higher level till they reach level 300 if I am not mistaken and if ya have any experience you will set yourself up right. Here is an idea how about you adjust to a well established game rather than the game adjusting to you, A novel Idea
